Kid was actually in Big Mom''s territory. Cracker named him as one of the supernova that broke in, and later in Udon Kid confirms that he went in, injured a Sweet Commander and took what he wanted. That's probably what is referencing here :D
I also considered the idea that the Sweet Commander Kid took the etching from was carrying it as part of an important delivery. Could've been a bargaining chip to trade for something Big Mom wanted but couldn't get through her usual tactics. Could've been something she was having delivered to Pudding to help her work on unlocking whatever Third Eye trait she needed to read the marks. Heck, it could've even been part of an attempt to find the "man marked by flames" and convince them to give her the information she needed.

We all know how Oda likes to reference real pirates and history. The Cross Guild is pretty clearly a reference to Jean Lafitte. When Louisiana Governor William C. C. Claiborne placed a $500 bounty for his capture, Lafitte put out a $1,500 bounty on the Governor. [Edit: I accidentally a word.]
I can't explain Law's reaction, but Robin's presence when the fire-scarred man is mentioned might point to Aokiji. He was burned by magma, present at Ohara, and now has connections to Blackbeard (who wants to be Pirate King).

This makes me wonder in a hypothetical alternate scenario if Doflamingo would have been a Emperor instead of Buggy had he not been defeated by Luffy and remained a active pirate up until the Shichibukai system was abolished. Likely, this wouldn't have happened if the Strawhats didn't expose Doflamingo's corruption in Dressrosa and defeated his crew, but let's say it still did happen and so did the stuff later on where the Supernovas defeat Kaido and Big Mom I think Doflamingo would more likely become a Emperor as he seemed to had the most influence in the New World aside from the Yonko before Luffy brought his business to ruin.

Matt, it does make sense for the geography if you picture it from the other side. Basically invert the image of the world map. So that you're looking at it from the other side. Then the angles match up. To help you visualize take an orange. Draw one line around it in one color and another line in another color. Those two lines represent the red line and the grand line. Then you can write on the different Blues and you can see where it makes sense
"The man marked by fire" is probably a survivor of Ohara that got burned. The thing Law and Kidd are both missing, same for anyone looking for the one piece thats not luffy, is someone who can read poneglyphs. Without having someone who can, doesnt matter if they find all 4 road poneglyphs or not. Oda is injecting another person in the story who can read them to raise the stakes for luffy. Giving other characters a way to actually find the one piece.
44:17 so the world map doesn’t line up from the angle you show it tilted, but if you were to go around the planet the grand line curves back up to make the circular shape it has around the planet. So it’s a downward right angle from the front and backwards it goes back upwards to the right to connect to itself. The map is still correct you just have to view it from the back I believe. Could be wrong but it would make the most sense to me

Two things. 1) I know there's an assumption that the Cross Guild must have a lot of money to issue bounties in Marines. However, when a bounty is placed, it's not always by the organization who catches them. Remember, Judge put the bounty on Sanji. So I can see a world where the Cross Guild is accepting Bounty requests on Marines from all over the underworld and then distributing them to their network of mercenaries, pirates and bounty hunters. Then they take a logistical cut and probably only go after big bounties themselves through Mihawk. 2) What if Crocodile betrays Buggy and tries to kill him, but knowing Buggy, he gets out of it somehow? that would be crazy

Lol Mourning Pedro and being determined to get revenge for him (even though Perospero did nothing wrong) aren't the same as carrying on his will. If she had been fleshed out as wanting to explore more, beyond initially jumping onto the Sunny, then maybe we could talk about her carrying on his will. Or if she expressed much interest in bringing the Minks into the new age. But... She never got fleshed out that way. Idk, I think this development feels really forced. But no, Oda had to give her this poorly written leadership role bc we've spent more time with her and because the fans love her. Hear me out: The "Man marked by Flames" is ex-admiral Aokiji - In reference to the scars he got after his fight on Punk Hazard It would make sense that the world government has a road Ponegliff, and maybe being an admiral means that he knows where it is, or the contents? It would be an interesting way to bring him back into the story, maybe as a teamup with the Strawhats? (Aokiji never seemed to hate the strawhats, and his form of justice could be bent to work with them)
Thats actually a really good point and its the only suggestion ive seen which wouldnt require either leaving the new world or introducing a new character. Not to mention aokiji was on Ohara its not impossible for him to know something.

I also thought of the Revolutionaries as another group that will still be important (Sabo has a scar, Dragon's tatoo if you interpret it freely maybe or a third person) and they wouldn't know where to look for them cause they're alwas hiding. If they were looking for someone to read the poneglyphs as a next step ... Robin is standing right next to them, so I think they're looking for another road Poneglyph first
The panel right after mentioning the man marked by flames is Law's and then Robin's reactions. Aokiji would be perfect as he fits with the theory that Law is part of SWORD along with Aokiji (and Drake, Garp and Coby). Robin's relationship with Aokiji is well known. Perhaps Aokiji has taken care of some of the people of Ohara since the Buster Call and that may be how he has knowledge of Poneglyphs.
The geography thing looks fine to me. Sync up the grand line on the tilted globe with the grand line on this current map. The North and West Blue will be in their positions and the straw hats need to be heading north-east towards the red line.
Yes what tekking was showing was the paradise part of the grand line. if you flip it to the new world part of the grand line, the grand line would be going from south west to north east. I love this because the grand line and red line now make a gigantic "x" mark
I think you’re correct. If you rotate the planet half a day on the north/South Pole, the west blue would be on the right, the east blue on the left and Mariejois would be in the middle instead of Reverse Mountain. What Oda is depicting would be the part of the grand line just out of view of the top left of the globe Tekking is showing us and would still be within the first half of “The New World”. The perspective Tekking’s globe shows the first half of “Paradise” and the 2nd half of “The New World” which the opposite hemisphere of what Oda is depicting in his smaller map from this chapter.

A few things, first you're looking at your map from the reverse mountain side, you should be looking at it from Marijoa's side. Buggy is the one most likely to have funded the guild as he had his delivery company, that had become the number 1 black arms dealer after Joker's organization went down with Doflamingo's capture. Dragon's face tattoo might be what they are referring as the burn mark, Dragon may be the most wanted man, but he's also someone who does not show his face to others very often. Carrot as the next ruler still doesn't make much sense as Pedro's will was to go out in the world not ruling over Zou.
I have a sneaking feeling that Carrot becoming the next ruler is supposed to feel wrong and unsatisfying. I kinda get the feeling she's going to pull a reverse Vivi in order to carry on Pedro's will. I really hope that's the case because if Carrot really is about to just leave forever and be the ruler of Zou it would feel like a serious disservice to her character and to Pedro.
Caribou should have definitely been sensed by at least one person's observation Haki Edit: Even though Caribou is weak and not a threat he's still an enemy. The same way I don't think Robin would have said it if the heart and kid pirates were there. It's extremely sensitive information, and can put Wano at risk
I’m just going to say, during the chapter where Buggy was first revealed to be an Emperor, I said that I hoped that it wasn’t a joke, and that I wanted Buggy to be a threat because he actually found some impressive weapons or powers that made him genuinely frightening. Happy to say, looks like I was partly right.
Regarding Big Mom's commander having a poneglyph etching on their ship, it could be that they found a poneglyph elsewhere and made copies to bring back to Big Mom but lost it to Kidd.
As a former advocate for Carrot joining the strawhats I, just like Tekking, got pretty dissapointed to see her so underutilized in Wano and Onigashima and I had also made peace with the fact that she was clearly not joining, but this is the first time in like a 100 chapters where I actually thought for a second that she might actually travel with the strawhats afterall. This is because now it would make for a better parallel to Inuarashi and Nekomamushi joining the Roger Pirates for a while, the former rulers of Zou joined the Roger Pirates and the next one joins the Strawhat, even more so when Inu and Neko weren't supposed to join in but they snuck into the Oro Jackson to follow Oden, now Carrot might do something similar, it wouldn't be the first time that she sneaks into the Sunny after all. The thing that actually made me think of this was the fact that Shishilian especifically said "you can trust us to protect the country for you", it might be a translation thing, but it does sound like she might have a pass to travel with the strawhat for a while, she would be able to travel the world and it would actually give her a better dream: "Traveling the world to see the Dawn of the World happen, so she can then lead the Minks in that new world". I still think it's like 99.9% chances that she won't join, but like I said, it's the first time in a long time where that 0.1% came back into my mind.
thats nice and all but if luffy doesnt consent to it nor never asked her to join his crew it seems kind of embarassing or would end up being embarassing if she did that and luffy said, "i never said u can come". oof. the other time was different since pedro was with them and she had a chance to go along. now she has nobody to vouch for her.

She's strong, gets along great with everyone and was shown to have a role she could fulfill, she also helped to rescue Sanji and is inheriting Pedro's will, who Luffy clearly keeps in mind as we saw in his fight with Kaido. And that's only the reasons within the story, even outside of the story it wouldn't make sense for Luffy to reject her (in the case that Oda actually pulled this option that is, since like the original comment said, that is very unlikely given what we've seen from her this arc). Looking at it outside of the OP universe it would still make no sense to go with the option of Carrot attempting to join the crew only for Luffy to reject her, it would make Carrot look really cringe, Luffy by extension would look like a jerk and completely out of character and Oda would look bad for writing a completely pointless plotpoint for absolutely no reason.
I don't think Luffy would mind Carrot being a stowaway. But I don't think Carrot herself would do that. Inu and Neko want her to act as the decission maker. Sicilian and Wanda are there to support her, not replace that role.

Since Sukiyaki is alive, Momonosuke and Hiyori now have someone to teach them how to read poneglyph🤔 That may make them targets for capturing so either the marines or other pirates can get the one piece.

Goda making bounty hunters relevant immediately with buggy was probably the best scene for me. But crocodile should have been expected considering buggy runs a business. Mihawk was insane. Feels kinda rushed immediately seeing momo and hiyori meet thier grandpa after he said he didn't want to meet them. Feels like a page was missing Oda I sweat if you leave yamato on wano teasing us for the whole arc. Law kid Luffy is such a fun dynamic to see constantly bicker

I personally think it won't be bounty hunters so much as pirates, at least not for high level marines. I mean let's remember that bounty hunters who hunt pirates are really weak. Zoro was so famous for hunting pirates that he was called Pirate Hunter Zoro and that was before he ever joined the Straw Hats. So maybe bounty hunters will be hunting low level marines but if they put bounties on any of the high ranked marines it would feel a little weird if some bounty hunter was able to go after them that hasn't been mentioned at some point post time skip
Don't stress you guys, the manga is going to skip over things from now on and the anime is going to flesh it out and slow it down. That seems to be the new plan at least how I observe what's been happening lately
I think the map does make sense, if you have a globe/ball, string and a marker draw a line representing the grand line and then use the string to trace from the north pole and intersecting with the grand line, you will find that the map would make sense if wano is located close to the start of the New world. in fact the further you sail into the New world the angle keeps changing, at the exact middle of the New world the angle would be 90 degrees, and after that the angle would become obtuse just like in the example image you were displaying. this happens because in the first half of the New World(not the entire grand line) we are sailing towards the north, but in the second half we are sailing away from the north.
Exactly like this! In the first half of the new world you’d make more progress by sailing north east. In the middle you should go east. In the back half you want to go south east. In Paradise the opposite happens. You begin sailing southeast At the middle you switch back to east. At the back end of Paradise you should be going northeast.
But if you're sailing towards the north in the first half of the New World, then you should also be sailing West as well, because according to the world maps the Grand Line and Red Line are perpendicular, with the North and West Blues being halfway points between them; if the New World is on a straight line then it should be going perfectly between the directions of North and West, so in the first half if you're approaching the northernmost point you should also be approaching the westernmost point. Then after halfway, you would start moving away from the both of them, also equally, but that would then imply that you're headed East and South equally in the second half of the Grand Line. According to those pairings, it doesn't make sense for Law's "North East" choice to be parellel with the Grand Line.

I think Crockodile was the one to mastermind the cross guild since he has a record of hatching large, long term plans like in Alabasta. He knew Buggy from impel down and could have been working with Buggy the entire time, building up their capital behind the scenes as he prefers (Mr. 0). I think he would have been smart enough to try to recruit as many members as possible, including Mihawk, and I like to think that Mihawk joined because he saw the charisma in Buggy similar to what he mentioned about Luffy during marineford.
It does make sense, Crocodile goes back to doing what he does best and likes doing, Buggy may get the "glory" as the emperor but it takes some of the flack off him (even if its well known he's in the Cross Guild) and Mihawk...well it beats being alone to have some allies, especially without his warlord status and maybe he's thinking long term enough that Buggy will cross paths with Luffy, which means Zoro is there too and he can finally test Zoro again.
I think most of the money they have to paid people who get the navy head must be from buggy weapon sale...heck buggy might still selling weapon and that how they could put bounty on marine and paid whoever get it
Tekking At around 44:00, when you're doing your map comparison, it can still line up. All you have to do is put wano on the half of the plant we are not looking at. Wano may be in the new world section of the grand line, but it was never stated it was in the secon half of the new world, it could easily be in the first half. And in that case, would be going from bottom left to top right.
The person that came to my mind when Caribou mentioned the Ancient Weapons was Crocodile. One of the reasons he had Robin with him was so she could decipher the location of Pluton, plus Crocodile shows up again in this chapter as well.
Caribou is seriously gunning for Most Hated One Piece character. It's an incredibly competitive category that sees the likes of Sakazuki, Apoo, and Trebol topping peoples' lists. But damn if he isn't trying!
I was thinking of Blackbeard. Him gaining access to the ancient weapons would be fitting for a final antagonist. Also, there would be another parallel to Luffy: Luffy declined to use the ancient weapons and Blackbeard takes them

I think Cross Guild, is Crocodile's new organization and for him and Mihawk to join Buggy after becoming a yonko makes perfect sense. This is because, for Crocodile he probably needed someone with a lot of power and influence to help him run it like one of the yonko, but most of them would've screw him over or never worked with him, but when Buggy became one it was the perfect opportunity, because he knew what Buggy was actually like and could use him for his advantage of. With Mihawk he probably joined because the Marines were constantly attacking and it became annoying. Buggy knew after becoming a yonko he had a huge target on his head and needed protection, and what better protection than two former warlords Crocodile and Mihawk, so basically it's a win-win situation for all three of them.
Kid went to WCI and injured one of the commanders. He stole "something" along the process, which now we know to be the poneglyph. He explained this when he was imprisoned in in Udon.
So hypothetically, could Bege suck Pluton into his castle body? If so, then couldn't he become super powerful, basically making Pluton part of himself? OR Could you cover Pluton with the Jacket Jacket fruit and then control it?

Buggy himself also made boatloads of money when he ran Buggy's Delivery Service. I guess they have serious amounts of money available to them and they are also making more with underworld dealings. They probably captured the whole black market after Doflamingo and Kaido's demise.
I think I can help the map make sense. We know that Fishman Island is the halfway point of the Grand Line, being right at the beginning of the New World, underneath the Red Line. If you take the globe as you had it, with the Red Line and Grand Line forming an X at reverse mountain, then imagine you're looking at it from the back, the West Blue will then appear to be in the East, and the Grand Line will also appear to have changed direction. Hope that helps!
Although I don’t believe she’ll be a Strawhat, I wouldn’t be surprised if Carrot stowed away again on the Sunny. Pedro left Zou all the time. If Carrot really did inherit his will, then wouldn’t it make more sense for her to leave on an adventure? Also, I expect a gag next chapter where Yamato tries to be like Oden and tries to get tested to be on Luffy’s crew (like Oden with Whitebeard) but Luffy just deflates that idea and easily accepts Yamato. I expect Yamato to force themselves to take that 3 day test even though there is no reason too.
2 things about the Cross Guild situation: 1. I feel that the star system makes WAY more sense then issuing individual bounties on Marines SINCE the Marines have their own ranking system. The Marine bounties could be a 10 star system where the top 10 big officers of Marines have bounties on their heads. 2. The money could be from the Underworld. Maybe during the two years, rather than gathering money, Croc was out getting intel and connection. Learning how Akainu moving the Marine HQ to the New World caused A LOT of trouble for the Underworld members, Croc came up with the idea of Marine bounties with the Underworld being the “bank” that pays people
I feel like Buggy sarcastically said "How would the Marines like it if they was wanted!!" and his men took that to heart and made the bountries for the Marines. I don't want Buggy, Usopp, and Kin'emon to be in the same room as each other. The One Piece reality would fall apart from their sheer amount of luck
I haven’t seen anyone mention this but I though the man with the flame scar was CLEARLY Sabo. That’s why both Law and Robin were so serious, they know how Luffy feels about him.
For the map, you have to look at the one piece globe from the back side (opposite side to reverse mountain), then it will make sense. Think of Reverse mountain as the north pole, use Oda's drawing in the latest chapter while picturing the globe from the south pole. Hope this makes sense. This actually shows that they are no where near the end of the new world
The Cross Guild Alliance is very interesting. Crocodile turned down an alliance with Doflamingo during Marineford, and Mihawk is notorious for being solo (except for addition of Perona). For them to both be under buggy when Mihawk definitely knows his true power is wild. I was hesitant before but I'm finally on the Buggy D. Clown train.

Regarding the whole buggy's part in the cross guild, you've gotta remember buggy's delivery, which also probably went and made mad profit in the time it was operating before the warlords were disbanded. And that's not even taking into account that perhaps it's even still running along side the cross guild, as basically it's means of funding it.
Part of me hopes Buggy isn't just entirely failing upwards but has actually gotten stronger too. I think that would actually be cool especially if everyone is legitimately confused that he's strong. ETA I say this because him being stronger while failing upwards Is hilarious. Mayhaps his fruit has awakened and he can chop up anything, but it doesn't cause the things he chops up harm either, or maybe even he can't control the chopped pieces. Effectively making him capable of stopped people from kicking his ass but unable to actually hurt them.
yeah even if he isn't as strong i hope he can lead his organisation to be really a force to be reckoned with against marines and world govt., so it would be cool.
About the map: oda could actually be wrong or right on this one, depending where they are on the Grandline. The way the Grandline wraps around you always travel a version of "East" but whether it is "North-East" or "South-East" depends on where you are in the Grandline. Basically the first half of Paradise and the Last half of the New World means you go "South-East" while for the second half of Paradise and the first half of the New World you go "North East". To visualize this maybe: Just imagine a globe with Reverse Mountain exactly facing you and when you travel along the diagonal as long as you see it you are traveling "downwards", which is what "South-East" is and then on the "Backside" you go "up" which is "North-East". So essentially Law's statement is correct if they are still in the first half of the New World and have not already passed the North-most point.
Hmm little Garden, Drum island, Alabasta, Sky Island, Water 7, & Sabaody 6-7 large islands. New world- Punk Hazard, Dressrossa, WCI/Zou, Wano… it’s potentially possible that we aren’t halfway across the new world. Plus it’d make sense if Wano is as far away as possible from the Red Line & the seat of the WG power.

My super random extra hope from this chapter comes from the fact that Usopp says that it doesn't matter what island they go to next, right after Luffy gambles for where they go, which would be kind of ironic if it ends up being Elbaf because it's the one island that actually does matter to him.
When in the Udon Mines, Kid said he forced his way into Big Moms territory and "took what he needed to take." It was during the scene where Caribou was telling Luffy how Kid lost his arm and Kid walked up and said Shanks did it.
For the bounties I think oda did that to be able to compare the power levels of the marines, mainly the admirals. Seeing how in the next few years we're gonna witness wars of cataclysmic proportion, oda probably wanted to compare power levels for example sanji and zero could be compared to say admiral Fujitora for zoro (swordsman) and kizaru for sanji(leg techniques and speed) while also comparing the admirals and vice admirals to other pirates and pirate crews while also making the marines more vicious and stoke their flames of hatred for pirates. And if things get really dire for the marines they could start wiping islands protected by pirates off the world map entirely.
My first thought when Karibou said "he would like to know about this" was big news morgans. Blackbeard makes more sense, but Morgans was the first person to pop into my mind
I feel upset that Kidd has Big Mom’s poneglyph. It was such a big deal when Brook managed to steal it from her maximum security prison and everything, but now you can just force it out of commanders. And Baron Tamagotchi said the poneglyphs are so precious not even Big Mom’s closest relatives get to have it, like her vice card.

44:02 the straw hats are in the second part of the grand line, so they are on the opposite side of the planet shown, when you flip the planet so you can see the other side the orientation matches with the depiction of wano and the islands kid, law, and luffy are going to. it also shows that we are like half way through the second half of the grandline.
So regarding Carrot, Neku mentioned the importance of travelling with Luffy, Wanda reiterated Pedro's will which causes Carrot to trail off in thought (plus, isn't the Dawn supposed to be a big deal for the Minks? Seems like something a leader should be trying to help Luffy accomplish), and Shishilian mentions they're there to protect Zou for her. Add on to that Carrot says she doesn't even want the role. Then we have small couple day time skip and the Straw Hats haven't left yet. So Tekking, you don't think Carrot may stow away again? I think next chapter the deciding moment. If we don't see her I'm assuming that's the case. My theory for the Poneglyph thing is that Big Mom sent a commander out with a rubbing to try to convince or force someone from the 3 Eyed Tribe to read it, since Pudding wasn't able to do it, then Kidd attacked them and took it.
Exactly, I think Carrot becoming the new Mink Leader is a red herring, too much leads to the conclusion she won't take it...Yet at least. Inherited Will is extremely important in One Piece, as it following ones' own will. Taking the position would contradict all of that - and validate Perospero telling Carrot to go home.
Just leave carrot as it is.. I don't want her in crew.. She is pretty irrelevant..and only dependent on full moon for power..+ annoying af.. We need someone as Yamato.. A different personality.. great power + and will to travel the world.

If you're not in the Monster Trio you're only good for supporting role or dispatching fodder. Ok so considering Carrot/Wanda need to go back to Zou, and Zou could still be in the area if it kinda hung around to see if/when Momo would change his mind, AND considering how the Straw Hats are now headed perpendicular to the grand line, instead of parallel the way they need to be going, is it possible the crew could be making a quick stop at Zou before continuing on? Yamato looks like they're gonna hop on the ship at the last moment, and from a storytelling perspective it would make sense for Carrot to get her final goodbyes with the strawhats before they officially part ways. I mean yeah it's been "a few days later" since Carrot was told she'd be leading Zou, so Oda could've offscreened final goodbyes to the crew, but that just doesn't feel right. It would make more sense to have her and Wanda hop on the ship or at least show up at the port so we can get SOME kind of satisfying conclusion to spending the last 7 years with these characters...
It would be interesting if Buggy's Chop-Chop Fruit always reacts and splits the body from swords, even those embed with haki. So buggy's fruit would be one of the only fruits to defend vs haki.
It could be that kid got a rubbing from the 4th poneglyph that luffy and law don't know the location of yet, like the rubbing kid stole wasn't the one from big mom's castle but one a commander found on an expedition. I think this makes much more sense than a commander just carrying around a rubbing of something they already have
This was the smallest thing but what excited me the most was Momo calling after the Straw Hats in the order that they joined, ending with Yamato, it made me so freaking happy. I love Yamato so much.
I honestly think that Buggy putting bounties on Marines is a interesting concept. it’s also probably part of the reason the world is in chaos.
Tbh I think that was Crocodiles doing. Buggy is just a figurehead and along for the ride, reveling in his title (at least I hope so)

Kid was actually in Big Mom''s territory. Cracker named him as one of the supernova that broke in, and later in Udon Kid confirms that he went in, injured a Sweet Commander and took what he wanted. That's probably what is referencing here :D
I also considered the idea that the Sweet Commander Kid took the etching from was carrying it as part of an important delivery. Could've been a bargaining chip to trade for something Big Mom wanted but couldn't get through her usual tactics. Could've been something she was having delivered to Pudding to help her work on unlocking whatever Third Eye trait she needed to read the marks. Heck, it could've even been part of an attempt to find the "man marked by flames" and convince them to give her the information she needed.

We all know how Oda likes to reference real pirates and history. The Cross Guild is pretty clearly a reference to Jean Lafitte. When Louisiana Governor William C. C. Claiborne placed a $500 bounty for his capture, Lafitte put out a $1,500 bounty on the Governor.

This makes me wonder in a hypothetical alternate scenario if Doflamingo would have been a Emperor instead of Buggy had he not been defeated by Luffy and remained a active pirate up until the Shichibukai system was abolished. Likely, this wouldn't have happened if the Strawhats didn't expose Doflamingo's corruption in Dressrosa and defeated his crew, but let's say it still did happen and so did the stuff later on where the Supernovas defeat Kaido and Big Mom I think Doflamingo would more likely become a Emperor as he seemed to had the most influence in the New World aside from the Yonko before Luffy brought his business to ruin.

Matt, it does make sense for the geography if you picture it from the other side. Basically invert the image of the world map. So that you're looking at it from the other side. Then the angles match up. To help you visualize take an orange. Draw one line around it in one color and another line in another color. Those two lines represent the red line and the grand line. Then you can write on the different Blues and you can see where it makes sense
which means they are still in the third quarter of the grandline.

"The man marked by fire" is probably a survivor of Ohara that got burned. The thing Law and Kidd are both missing, same for anyone looking for the one piece thats not luffy, is someone who can read poneglyphs. Without having someone who can, doesnt matter if they find all 4 road poneglyphs or not. Oda is injecting another person in the story who can read them to raise the stakes for luffy. Giving other characters a way to actually find the one piece.

44:17 so the world map doesn’t line up from the angle you show it tilted, but if you were to go around the planet the grand line curves back up to make the circular shape it has around the planet. So it’s a downward right angle from the front and backwards it goes back upwards to the right to connect to itself. The map is still correct you just have to view it from the back I believe. Could be wrong but it would make the most sense to me

1) I know there's an assumption that the Cross Guild must have a lot of money to issue bounties in Marines. However, when a bounty is placed, it's not always by the organization who catches them. Remember, Judge put the bounty on Sanji. So I can see a world where the Cross Guild is accepting Bounty requests on Marines from all over the underworld and then distributing them to their network of mercenaries, pirates and bounty hunters. Then they take a logistical cut and probably only go after big bounties themselves through Mihawk.
2) What if Crocodile betrays Buggy and tries to kill him, but knowing Buggy, he gets out of it somehow? that would be crazy

But... She never got fleshed out that way. Idk, I think this development feels really forced. I hoped she would take over as head of the new Knox Pirates - ya know, *actually* carrying on Pedro's will. But no, Oda had to give her this poorly written leadership role bc we've spent more time with her and because the fans love her.
If Oda really wanted to give her a leadership role, Captain of the new Knox Pirates would've been much better given, ya know, everything else Oda's written.

It would make sense that the world government has a road Ponegliff, and maybe being an admiral means that he knows where it is, or the contents?
It would be an interesting way to bring him back into the story, maybe as a teamup with the Strawhats? (Aokiji never seemed to hate the strawhats, and his form of justice could be bent to work with them)
Thats actually a really good point and its the only suggestion ive seen which wouldnt require either leaving the new world or introducing a new character. Not to mention aokiji was on Ohara its not impossible for him to know something.

I don't remember whether him working for Blackbeard was common knowledge. I also thought of the Revolutionaries as another group that will still be important (Sabo has a scar, Dragon's tatoo if you interpret it freely maybe or a third person) and they wouldn't know where to look for them cause they're alwas hiding. If they were looking for someone to read the poneglyphs as a next step ... Robin is standing right next to them, so I think they're looking for another road Poneglyph first

Aokiji would be perfect as he fits with the theory that Law is part of SWORD along with Aokiji (and Drake, Garp and Coby). Robin's relationship with Aokiji is well known. Perhaps Aokiji has taken care of some of the people of Ohara since the Buster Call and that may be how he has knowledge of Poneglyphs.

The geography thing looks fine to me. Sync up the grand line on the tilted globe with the grand line on this current map. The North and West Blue will be in their positions and the straw hats need to be heading north-east towards the red line.
Yes what tekking was showing was the paradise part of the grand line. if you flip it to the new world part of the grand line, the grand line would be going from south west to north east. I love this because the grand line and red line now make a gigantic "x" mark

I think you’re correct. If you rotate the planet half a day on the north/South Pole, the west blue would be on the right, the east blue on the left and Mariejois would be in the middle instead of Reverse Mountain. What Oda is depicting would be the part of the grand line just out of view of the top left of the globe Tekking is showing us and would still be within the first half of “The New World”. The perspective Tekking’s globe shows the first half of “Paradise” and the 2nd half of “The New World” which the opposite hemisphere of what Oda is depicting in his smaller map from this chapter.

A few things, first you're looking at your map from the reverse mountain side, you should be looking at it from Marijoa's side.
Buggy is the one most likely to have funded the guild as he had his delivery company, that had become the number 1 black arms dealer after Joker's organization went down with Doflamingo's capture.
Dragon's face tattoo might be what they are referring as the burn mark, Dragon may be the most wanted man, but he's also someone who does not show his face to others very often.
Carrot as the next ruler still doesn't make much sense as Pedro's will was to go out in the world not ruling over Zou.
I have a sneaking feeling that Carrot becoming the next ruler is supposed to feel wrong and unsatisfying. I kinda get the feeling she's going to pull a reverse Vivi in order to carry on Pedro's will. I really hope that's the case because if Carrot really is about to just leave forever and be the ruler of Zou it would feel like a serious disservice to her character and to Pedro.

As a former advocate for Carrot joining the strawhats I, just like Tekking, got pretty dissapointed to see her so underutilized in Wano and Onigashima and I had also made peace with the fact that she was clearly not joining, but this is the first time in like a 100 chapters where I actually thought for a second that she might actually travel with the strawhats afterall.
This is because now it would make for a better parallel to Inuarashi and Nekomamushi joining the Roger Pirates for a while, the former rulers of Zou joined the Roger Pirates and the next one joins the Strawhat, even more so when Inu and Neko weren't supposed to join in but they snuck into the Oro Jackson to follow Oden, now Carrot might do something similar, it wouldn't be the first time that she sneaks into the Sunny after all.
The thing that actually made me think of this was the fact that Shishilian especifically said "you can trust us to protect the country for you", it might be a translation thing, but it does sound like she might have a pass to travel with the strawhat for a while, she would be able to travel the world and it would actually give her a better dream: "Traveling the world to see the Dawn of the World happen, so she can then lead the Minks in that new world". I still think it's like 99.9% chances that she won't join, but like I said, it's the first time in a long time where that 0.1% came back into my mind.
thats nice and all but if luffy doesnt consent to it nor never asked her to join his crew it seems kind of embarassing or would end up being embarassing if she did that and luffy said, "i never said u can come". oof. the other time was different since pedro was with them and she had a chance to go along. now she has nobody to vouch for her.

She's strong, gets along great with everyone and was shown to have a role she could fulfill, she also helped to rescue Sanji and is inheriting Pedro's will, who Luffy clearly keeps in mind as we saw in his fight with Kaido.
And that's only the reasons within the story, even outside of the story it wouldn't make sense for Luffy to reject her (in the case that Oda actually pulled this option that is, since like the original comment said, that is very unlikely given what we've seen from her this arc). Looking at it outside of the OP universe it would still make no sense to go with the option of Carrot attempting to join the crew only for Luffy to reject her, it would make Carrot look really cringe, Luffy by extension would look like a jerk and completely out of character and Oda would look bad for writing a completely pointless plotpoint for absolutely no reason.
I don't think Luffy would mind Carrot being a stowaway. But I don't think Carrot herself would do that.

I personally think it won't be bounty hunters so much as pirates, at least not for high level marines. I mean let's remember that bounty hunters who hunt pirates are really weak. Zoro was so famous for hunting pirates that he was called Pirate Hunter Zoro and that was before he ever joined the Straw Hats. So maybe bounty hunters will be hunting low level marines but if they put bounties on any of the high ranked marines it would feel a little weird if some bounty hunter was able to go after them that hasn't been mentioned at some point post time skip

I think the map does make sense, if you have a globe/ball, string and a marker draw a line representing the grand line and then use the string to trace from the north pole and intersecting with the grand line, you will find that the map would make sense if wano is located close to the start of the New world.
in fact the further you sail into the New world the angle keeps changing, at the exact middle of the New world the angle would be 90 degrees, and after that the angle would become obtuse just like in the example image you were displaying.
this happens because in the first half of the New World(not the entire grand line) we are sailing towards the north, but in the second half we are sailing away from the north.
In my words, look at the globe with Fishman Island in the centers instead of Reverse Mountain.

In the first half of the new world you’d make more progress by sailing north east.
In the middle you should go east.
In the back half you want to go south east.
In Paradise the opposite happens.
You begin sailing southeast
At the middle you switch back to east.
At the back end of Paradise you should be going northeast.
But if you're sailing towards the north in the first half of the New World, then you should also be sailing West as well, because according to the world maps the Grand Line and Red Line are perpendicular, with the North and West Blues being halfway points between them; if the New World is on a straight line then it should be going perfectly between the directions of North and West, so in the first half if you're approaching the northernmost point you should also be approaching the westernmost point. Then after halfway, you would start moving away from the both of them, also equally, but that would then imply that you're headed East and South equally in the second half of the Grand Line. According to those pairings, it doesn't make sense for Law's "North East" choice to be parellel with the Grand Line.

I think Crockodile was the one to mastermind the cross guild since he has a record of hatching large, long term plans like in Alabasta. He knew Buggy from impel down and could have been working with Buggy the entire time, building up their capital behind the scenes as he prefers (Mr. 0). I think he would have been smart enough to try to recruit as many members as possible, including Mihawk, and I like to think that Mihawk joined because he saw the charisma in Buggy similar to what he mentioned about Luffy during marineford.
It does make sense, Crocodile goes back to doing what he does best and likes doing, Buggy may get the "glory" as the emperor but it takes some of the flack off him (even if its well known he's in the Cross Guild) and Mihawk...well it beats being alone to have some allies, especially without his warlord status and maybe he's thinking long term enough that Buggy will cross paths with Luffy, which means Zoro is there too and he can finally test Zoro again.
I think most of the money they have to paid people who get the navy head must be from buggy weapon sale...heck buggy might still selling weapon and that how they could put bounty on marine and paid whoever get it

All you have to do is put wano on the half of the plant we are not looking at.
Wano may be in the new world section of the grand line, but it was never stated it was in the secon half of the new world, it could easily be in the first half. And in that case, would be going from bottom left to top right.
The person that came to my mind when Caribou mentioned the Ancient Weapons was Crocodile. One of the reasons he had Robin with him was so she could decipher the location of Pluton, plus Crocodile shows up again in this chapter as well.
Caribou is seriously gunning for Most Hated One Piece character. It's an incredibly competitive category that sees the likes of Sakazuki, Apoo, and Trebol topping peoples' lists. But damn if he isn't trying!

I think Cross Guild, is Crocodile's new organization and for him and Mihawk to join Buggy after becoming a yonko makes perfect sense. This is because, for Crocodile he probably needed someone with a lot of power and influence to help him run it like one of the yonko, but most of them would've screw him over or never worked with him, but when Buggy became one it was the perfect opportunity, because he knew what Buggy was actually like and could use him for his advantage of. With Mihawk he probably joined because the Marines were constantly attacking and it became annoying. Buggy knew after becoming a yonko he had a huge target on his head and needed protection, and what better protection than two former warlords Crocodile and Mihawk, so basically it's a win-win situation for all three of them.
Kid went to WCI and injured one of the commanders. He stole "something" along the process, which now we know to be the poneglyph. He explained this when he was imprisoned in in Udon.

I think I can help the map make sense. We know that Fishman Island is the halfway point of the Grand Line, being right at the beginning of the New World, underneath the Red Line. If you take the globe as you had it, with the Red Line and Grand Line forming an X at reverse mountain, then imagine you're looking at it from the back, the West Blue will then appear to be in the East, and the Grand Line will also appear to have changed direction. Hope that helps!

Also, I expect a gag next chapter where Yamato tries to be like Oden and tries to get tested to be on Luffy’s crew (like Oden with Whitebeard) but Luffy just deflates that idea and easily accepts Yamato. I expect Yamato to force themselves to take that 3 day test even though there is no reason too.

2 things about the Cross Guild situation:
1. I feel that the star system makes WAY more sense then issuing individual bounties on Marines SINCE the Marines have their own ranking system. The Marine bounties could be a 10 star system where the top 10 big officers of Marines have bounties on their heads.
2. The money could be from the Underworld. Maybe during the two years, rather than gathering money, Croc was out getting intel and connection. Learning how Akainu moving the Marine HQ to the New World caused A LOT of trouble for the Underworld members, Croc came up with the idea of Marine bounties with the Underworld being the “bank” that pays people

For the map, you have to look at the one piece globe from the back side (opposite side to reverse mountain), then it will make sense. Think of Reverse mountain as the north pole, use Oda's drawing in the latest chapter while picturing the globe from the south pole. Hope this makes sense.

The Cross Guild Alliance is very interesting. Crocodile turned down an alliance with Doflamingo during Marineford, and Mihawk is notorious for being solo (except for addition of Perona). For them to both be under buggy when Mihawk definitely knows his true power is wild. I was hesitant before but I'm finally on the Buggy D. Clown train.

Regarding the whole buggy's part in the cross guild, you've gotta remember buggy's delivery, which also probably went and made mad profit in the time it was operating before the warlords were disbanded. And that's not even taking into account that perhaps it's even still running along side the cross guild, as basically it's means of funding it.
The cross guild just seems to be the dispatch society plus mihawk and crocodile plus extras brought in with the trio's reputations.
Part of me hopes Buggy isn't just entirely failing upwards but has actually gotten stronger too. I think that would actually be cool especially if everyone is legitimately confused that he's strong.
ETA I say this because him being stronger while failing upwards Is hilarious. Mayhaps his fruit has awakened and he can chop up anything, but it doesn't cause the things he chops up harm either, or maybe even he can't control the chopped pieces. About the map: oda could actually be wrong or right on this one, depending where they are on the Grandline. The way the Grandline wraps around you always travel a version of "East" but whether it is "North-East" or "South-East" depends on where you are in the Grandline. Basically the first half of Paradise and the Last half of the New World means you go "South-East" while for the second half of Paradise and the first half of the New World you go "North East".
To visualize this maybe: Just imagine a globe with Reverse Mountain exactly facing you and when you travel along the diagonal as long as you see it you are traveling "downwards", which is what "South-East" is and then on the "Backside" you go "up" which is "North-East".
So essentially Law's statement is correct if they are still in the first half of the New World and have not already passed the North-most point.

New world- Punk Hazard, Dressrossa, WCI/Zou, Wano… it’s potentially possible that we aren’t halfway across the new world.

When in the Udon Mines, Kid said he forced his way into Big Moms territory and "took what he needed to take." It was during the scene where Caribou was telling Luffy how Kid lost his arm and Kid walked up and said Shanks did it.

For the bounties I think oda did that to be able to compare the power levels of the marines, mainly the admirals. Seeing how in the next few years we're gonna witness wars of cataclysmic proportion, oda probably wanted to compare power levels for example sanji and zero could be compared to say admiral Fujitora for zoro (swordsman) and kizaru for sanji(leg techniques and speed) while also comparing the admirals and vice admirals to other pirates and pirate crews while also making the marines more vicious and stoke their flames of hatred for pirates. And if things get really dire for the marines they could start wiping islands protected by pirates off the world map entirely.

I feel upset that Kidd has Big Mom’s poneglyph. It was such a big deal when Brook managed to steal it from her maximum security prison and everything, but now you can just force it out of commanders. And Baron Tamagotchi said the poneglyphs are so precious not even Big Mom’s closest relatives get to have it, like her vice card.

44:02 the straw hats are in the second part of the grand line, so they are on the opposite side of the planet shown, when you flip the planet so you can see the other side the orientation matches with the depiction of wano and the islands kid, law, and luffy are going to. it also shows that we are like half way through the second half of the grandline.
Law met Buggy at Marineford when he surfaced to rescue Luffy.
So regarding Carrot, Neku mentioned the importance of travelling with Luffy, Wanda reiterated Pedro's will which causes Carrot to trail off in thought (plus, isn't the Dawn supposed to be a big deal for the Minks? Seems like something a leader should be trying to help Luffy accomplish), and Shishilian mentions they're there to protect Zou for her. Add on to that Carrot says she doesn't even want the role. Then we have small couple day time skip and the Straw Hats haven't left yet. So Tekking, you don't think Carrot may stow away again? I think next chapter the deciding moment. If we don't see her I'm assuming that's the case.
My theory for the Poneglyph thing is that Big Mom sent a commander out with a rubbing to try to convince or force someone from the 3 Eyed Tribe to read it, since Pudding wasn't able to do it, then Kidd attacked them and took it.
Exactly, I think Carrot becoming the new Mink Leader is a red herring, too much leads to the conclusion she won't take it...Yet at least. Inherited Will is extremely important in One Piece, as it following ones' own will. Taking the position would contradict all of that - and validate Perospero telling Carrot to go home.

@@Abishek.Niroula007 Yamato literally thinks she is Oden, not really a different personality. Strength is not required to be a Straw Hat. If you're not in the Monster Trio you're only good for supporting role or dispatching fodder. There's still the chance Carrot could get stronger but she's still as capable as anyone not in the Monster Trio.

Ok so considering Carrot/Wanda need to go back to Zou, and Zou could still be in the area if it kinda hung around to see if/when Momo would change his mind, AND considering how the Straw Hats are now headed perpendicular to the grand line, instead of parallel the way they need to be going, is it possible the crew could be making a quick stop at Zou before continuing on? Yamato looks like they're gonna hop on the ship at the last moment, and from a storytelling perspective it would make sense for Carrot to get her final goodbyes with the strawhats before they officially part ways. I mean yeah it's been "a few days later" since Carrot was told she'd be leading Zou, so Oda could've offscreened final goodbyes to the crew, but that just doesn't feel right. It would make more sense to have her and Wanda hop on the ship or at least show up at the port so we can get SOME kind of satisfying conclusion to spending the last 7 years with these characters...

It would be interesting if Buggy's Chop-Chop Fruit always reacts and splits the body from swords, even those embed with haki. So buggy's fruit would be one of the only fruits to defend vs haki.
It could be that kid got a rubbing from the 4th poneglyph that luffy and law don't know the location of yet, like the rubbing kid stole wasn't the one from big mom's castle but one a commander found on an expedition. I think this makes much more sense than a commander just carrying around a rubbing of something they already have
This was the smallest thing but what excited me the most was Momo calling after the Straw Hats in the order that they joined, ending with Yamato, it made me so freaking happy. I love Yamato so much.
