I don’t understand why gamrot isn’t being considered more if arman can’t find. If we are going off of how exciting they are I understand people don’t want to watch that fight but he is the most deserving besides arman. Charles has lost 2 out of his last 3. Same with Dustin. Gaethje has to recover, chandler hasn’t fought in two years, dariush has lost two in a row, fisiev is injured and max is fighting at featherweight.

From a meritocracy standpoint the obvious answer is Gamrot. He only has one loss a couple of years ago against Beniel and now is on a 2 fight win streak. He even beat Arman in a classic fight. Watch that fight and tell me an Islam fight isn't at least interesting

These guys are actually casuals. Everything they said about Mateusz Gamrot was incorrect. The only person in the top fove he has fought is Arman Tsarukyan, and he beat him.
He lost to beniel. And fluked a win over Fizeiv. And got pieced up by RDA and sqeaked out a win by hugfest.
I think he's the obvious choice with Arman being unavailable since he beat Arman. They should've at least given him some thought as an option. Gamrot needs to speak up for himself though since his wins aren't the most exciting

For What It's Worth, Islam every single interview prior to UFC 302 did say he wants to fight at MSG. He really hammered that home, and I think he even said it in the post fight press conference as well.
Everyone has been talking about Abu Dhabi as the date but that's just because Islam is the most logical fighter to headline it for the UFC. Islam I think really does want to fight at Madison Square Garden, and I do hope he gets his fight there rather than Abu Dhabi again.

Tsarukyan is suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission. That has nothing to do with Abu Dhabi. There's no reason he can't fight Makhachev there in October.

The prospect that Chandler gets a title shot now is insane but I actually think it could totally happen. The UFC have recently showed a penchant for grotesquely undeserved title shots (Vera, Covington, Stipe). They’d have the gall to do it if it served them in some way, and I think Islam vs Chandler will serve them well, because i think it might sell better than any other title defense for Islam.
