Ladakh is the home to numerous natural wonders, but the most precious gift bestowed upon this magical land is the Chadar Trek. The trek is all about persistence & survival - of learning to survive in the harsh terrains at sub-zero temperatures, interacting with the locals & understanding their way of living, especially in one of the most inhabitable regions in the world, while you trek across a dramatic gorge with frozen waterfalls on the frozen trail of Zanskar spanned out like a “Chadar” it acts as a mirror for the sky!
Absolutely beautiful video! I was scheduled to do this in January 2007. Got malaria in Kerala in December. Then 'life' happened.. I really hope destiny allows me to return to India, home of my soul, while I still have strength.. 💓
I like the way you were very considerate to include porters/locals in this video and tell us about their hard work, difficulties and the heroic efforts . Very nice . Some people who post videos get too busy bragging about their heroism that they forget to show the actual work that is being done by the porters .....awesome video !!

i went through this trek 3 times, infact it is a reluctant for inhabitants of zanskar valley for travel to Leh for necessity in winter, now it is becoming popular among tourist.

I'm from zanskar this track lead to my valley padum which is 170 km away from the Leh our ansector were doing this track from centuries and also during winter time local track through this route to way back their home padum which is head quarter of zanskar

Love the way u mingled with the porters, love the way u shot the scenes, specially the pebbles through translucent water/ice.
Loved it thoroughly.
Doubt if I can do this trek, for I can't withstand this extreme cold, but am really happy to see it on screen. That such magnificently beautiful places exist in India gives lots of happiness. God bless u bhai & the porters too.

We were planning our trip to chadar but then we cancelled it by seeing the amount of tourists has been increased over there. It's a beautiful place and a lot of people have made this a business and don't care about littering the place. We'll go to some other place.

Don’t worry at all .. But gum boot from leg itself and they are best for chadar trek .. will cost u arround 350 rs only .. even I didnt used my soloman shoes and continued with the gum boots form leh

Out of curiosity.
Just wanted to know what are the gears you used for filming the 4 day trek because after reading several articles, they all said batteries drain within a day.
I too want to film my trekking experience, please help.

None battery last soo much time, carry 2 power bank of 20000 MAH, that will work, it will charge battery for 10+ times..
Just carry a good powerbank and that will suffice ur requirements

Can i go to leh from mumbai in jan 2019 there would be heavy snow fall so is it possible to travel by road do army allow to go near pangong and other places in leh
Yes sure .. roads are always open unless heavy snowfall blocks the roads for 2-3 days max .. else roads are open for 12 months
