    Hurts should do speed pass drills in practice. That is how Foles sped up his passing. He can fix his problem in season at practice.

    Good talk. I've been pulling for Hurts since he started, watching him grow into a very good qb. He's not really progressing like we'd all like. I think a lot of this has to fall on the qb's coach and kellen Moore?

      @@InsideTheBirds The QB coach is non-existent on Game day! Fans were the first to call this out when Brian Johnson was here but now it's less of a concern. I watched the game too and saw Hurts going through progressions and reads more than I've ever seen him do. Jalen Hurts was definitely off a bit but I don't understand why he's questioned and he improves every time. His timing was bad but the O line and DLine had been getting blown off the line against Carolina.

    • @InsideTheBirds

      I agree a lot with what you say and I’m pulling for Hurts, (respect The Inside the birds opinion) but this is Kellen Moore first szn…. 1) 3rd playbook in 3 szns for a QB who isn’t an elite passer I feel like this is not taken into account…. 2) was listening to Seth Joyner, he feels there’s friction between Hurts & the Wr AJ/Smith, he believes that Hurts was intimating in his last presser that the WR are not where there supposed to be on plays and this is why he doesn’t let the ball rip because he’s unsure they will be in there spots.

      Hurts has been better. Last week he took a step back. But overall he’s been planting his right foot and driving the ball. He just has to progress.

    I'm no Greg Cossell but even before seeing this I said Jalen needs to get his ass under center and most of the Eagles pass plays should be off of play action. I dont care if he's not comfortable, you have to be comfortable being uncomfortable until he gets it right, he has just as good of arm talent as Purdy and Darnold, a lot of their pass plays is off of play action!!! Practice until you get it Hurts!! It's about getting better for yourself a d the team

    • @InsideTheBirds
      @InsideTheBirds  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      We've frozen it quite a bit and asked people who played. Horn's leverage is toward Smith -- the opposite direction of Brown's route. The safety is trailing Brown. Brown is an elite WR. He has plenty of separation and a throw in stride is a big gain that's very clearly there. A good QB has to make this throw unless, as you wrote, he was told in the headset to check down. And then the question would be: why wouldn't you want your QB to make that throw when you drew up a 3-level stretch play designed to exploit the hole in the zone?

    • @robertbongiorno4400
      @robertbongiorno4400 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@InsideTheBirds One possibility is because they had 20 yards to get the first down, and the longer pass has more of a chance for failure. A short pass is easier to complete and then they need another, say, 10 yards to make the first down. The TD pass to Calcaterra was Hurts rewarding Calcaterra for filling in for Goedert. Nothing else makes any sense. He had Smith and Brown wide open!

    • @nailchristian03
      @nailchristian03 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@InsideTheBirds For some reason he was not confident in making that throw. There's is no way that the Jalen was asked to check down on this play by his coaches.

    32:12 just a honest opinion…. I think the hyper focussing / nitpicking of TD passes and saying this guy or that guy was MORE OPEN on a successful play is something I’m not used to ! ….You have a right to talk about it but I can remember when Wentz drilled a 20 yard TD against Washington in the corner of the endzone. Every one raved that was an unbelievable pass between multiple defenders & no one mentioned Wentz had a wide open receiver in the endzone and it was a regular thing with Wentz going for the difficult TD pass & totally missing wide open WR in the endzone and I didn’t hear the noise. Like I said you have a right to talk about it just like I can say I never heard the focussing / pontification of this with Wentz.

    On the cooper dejean getting beat on the out and up route, why did McCollum come all the way up to the flat when Baum had flat. That seemed like maybe coope was playing the out so hard because he thought safety would be back to cover deep???

    There's a big fan base here in San Antonio Texas. And love our Eagles. But we have been saying for a year now that Jalen holds on to the ball too long and at times indeceive. He was like this at Alabama. He really doesn't have a big arm but you can win with him. Will Jalen throw for 300+yards and 2 TDs per game NO unless playing from behind. He doesn't make many anticipation throws very often. When he is pressed to be somebody he's not turnovers happen. The coaching staff has to know this which is why they call plays that are simple for him. But how can anyone complain being 11-2. We would not be surprised if the Eagles drafted a QB in the first round in 2026.

    You guys need to make the obvious glaring fact that Hurts, admittedly a good running QB, is deficient at pocket presence and figuring out where and how to escape and keep a pass play alive. Also, he seems deficient at going through his pattern progressions.

    Manning, Wilson, and Roethlisberger won Super Bowls with dominant defenses, stout running games, and passing for around 120 yards a game. Hurts is top ten in just about every QB metric.
    The complaints about that guy are insane. These are the same kinds of frivolous complaints that destroyed Mcnabb and made him uncoachable.
    Personally, I wasn’t happy when they decided to go with Hurts. I wanted Deshaun Watson but Hurts was the right choice then. He is the right choice now.
