This is why I was an ICU nurse for 38 years. All of us working together everyday hoping for such a wonderful outcome. I am in tears watching this. Amazing women and family.
I was in the ICU for a week in late june bcoz of the complications of d&c. I developed DIC. All my icu nurses are so wonderful. They are the best! ❤

I cant imagine the bills in the hospital, rehabilitation and therapy. Thank goodness for her recovery and provision. Husband was there throughout and also caring for the baby. It is fortunate they are so blessed financially ❤
I am actually Canadian, so I never paid a single dollar for my hospital stay, rehab or therapy, it was all covered by our health care. Trust me, we pay for it in taxes though.

About 20 years ago I lost my best friend of 40 from Gillian beret, no one had worked with her like the people worked hard with this new mommie, this story is so inspiring, I miss my friend so much, if only the health professionals worked with my sweet friend like they did for this beautiful family…sending many prayers to this family and her health care ❤😢
I am so sorry for your loss. It only happens in about 5% of cases, (which I know does not make it any easier) but to this day, people still pass away from GBS and it breaks my heart. Which is why I try to bring awareness to GBS and help educate nurses and doctors so they can better understand and treat it
When you have the support of your husband the way she did . They worked as a team right from the start. Hes a hero too. Along with all the medical team .what an amazing woman to not gove up .lovely story

Holly I was a Respiratory Therapist and have had maybe 3 patients with GB. All came off the Ventilator but some required more time than others. All a long journey in the hospital. Your beautiful and strong with an awesome family. You are a doll! Go duck for the future❤

this happend to my mom just before I was born. she was paralyzed for 8 months, she tells me how she had her 7th sacrament, how she thought she was going to die. Holly, and my Mom, pushed through the impossible ❤

Im a husband and father of 4 my wife was severly ill after her pregnancy with our first born... Seeing her in pain crushed me.. I just thank god for keeping his arms around my family at that time.. We are currently on our 10th year of marriage and we since had twins.. God is good. God is the only light to true happiness... I love you my wife and i keep pushing through the hard times because of how strong you were in youre worst times.. I Love You..

It’s been 28 years since I recovered from GBS and I don’t think much about it really,,, this brought me to tears. I have some real pent up healing needed apparently. I felt your pain, the pins and needles 24/7 and the aches on your neck and back. I totally was lying there next to you, having a full mind and soul without a voice or motion. Alive, screaming in there... don’t give up on me..! Thank you for this.
Stories from you and other people who face challenging health conditions are the reason why I am in nursing school. I want to be on the team that never gives up. I graduate end of 2021 and I already know that I will love helping.

I felt this too however mine was pretty recent i just started walking on my own again finally, but the pain no one understands they think oh your paralyzed so how are you in pain and its just like someone lit you on fire and was constantley using you as a pin cushion.. i still have the pain and we are not sure it will go away but im hoping it does it is horrible.. im sorry you went through this as well

He didn’t los his breathing abilities but was also paralyzed from the neck down and had to learn how to walk and use his arms. He was in the hospital for almost 4 months. But made a full recovery. Thank you for sharing your story.

Se distruge învelișul de mielină, al nervilor de la mâini și picioare.
Nervii mor, iar comanda de la creier, nu mai are căi de transmitere, la mâini și picioare.
Creierul nu este afectat.
Învelișul de mielină se reface, dar foarte greu.

My daughter was 16 months old when she was diagnosed. Thank God we caught it before it got her her lungs. It only made it to her hips. She is now a wild AF 5 year old.

My very best friend woke up one morning while he was in college not being to move at all. Turned out is was Guillaume's Barre. Took a while to diagnose. After many months and lots of recovery efforts, it took a couple years, maybe longer, he did regain his strength and use of body. He was a miracle! Went on to complete college, got a Masters..became head of medical unit at a major medical center....thank God for this miracle!!!

God bless her. My dad had a flu shot 20 years ago and contracted Guillaune-Barre. Unfortunately, after a 5 1/2 month battle, his poor body just couldn't fight any more. This family is so blessed that they have their wife, daughter, mother back. It was a tough rough road. So happy for her. 🙏

I took care of a person like her and do all the PT everyday even when it is painful has to do it , he keeps telling me that he will punch me when I do his PT everyday and I keep telling me to get up and punch me. He gets so angry at me but I continued to do his PT No matter How much he hates me, but with perseverance we did it he started to move his extremities and patiently started getting him up and worked very hard and after awhile he started gaining some strength , patiently with vitamins too he walk out of our facility and came back to Thank me for putting up with his anger . And foul mouth. It’s all worth it. Seeing him walk out if our facility. Keep up the goid work and God bless all your effort all who are envolved with your care. God bless you all.
