    Speaking from my experience, if you run your own business it's will never be a 9-5 job 48 hours per week, it's more like 80+ hours per week and a lot of risk involved. But on the other hand, you can scale your income to an astronomical amount with endless possibilities if you work hard at your absolute limit and take risks.

    • @NetSkillNavigator

      That's what I always say: being an entrepeneur is not for everyone. You need to be constantly careful, because every decision that you make can determine the success or the failure of a deal or of a project and in consequence of your enterprise.

    • @lopinionista9788

      @@alexandradegala6262 it is not only having a good business model. Being an entrepeneur means to think outside the box, and it is simply not for everyone. Why a lot of people critized this video? Because it does not reflect the truth at all. Personally, I am a little bit annoyed by all this motivational video that they say that if you can dream of it, you can do it and you can decide your own working hours. This is wrong, usually self employed people like freelancers and entrepeneurs have to work more than a normal employee, and thay have to be constantly attentive for deals and customers. It is NOT an easy job, and you cannot really get off of it, because you have always to pay attention to eventual risks or imprevists.

    Roughly speaking

    • @nickh.5301
      @nickh.5301 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Emre Özyurt so many channels on TH-cam talk about it. Yes, in simple terms that’s what it is. You need to find cheap products online, make webpage and run google advertisements to promote your page to sell your product. The only way to get people to buy your stuff is to make your page look legit and pay google for advertisements to get people to click to your page. That’s not guaranteeing they will buy so you need to actually invest some good money and take a gamble. It’s easier to make a TH-cam channel promoting drop shipping to make money than it is to actually drop ship lol

    My story-
    When I was 13, I started learning web development.
    Then at 14 I started a WordPress blog. I earned about $500 through blogging in less than 6 months.
    I also learned video editing, digital marketing, SEO, about Ecommerce during that span of time.
    But I regret that my country has so much population and the students needs to get through the high competition to get into even in a mediocre college.
    So students start preparing for entrance exams in high schools. And the same I did.
    So I had to leave my blog, freelance work. So that I can concentrate on my studies.

It was a lot harder in the days before WiFi. We used to buy scratch-off cards to use dialup internet in Sri Lanka.... and fly to Dubai when we needed to download a large software update on faster internet.

    what one thing many do not consider is that a business is worth a multiple of the net income, so if they grossed 1.5 million, and netted say only 200,000, then the business itself could be worth a multiple of 10 so around 2.5 million. Again many facts to consider, Still, it is a great life doing what you want, when you want, from wherever you happen to be at that moment. Great video!

    Great video! But they aren’t millionaires. I know a lot of the top e-commerce guys doing dropshipping and at best 0-20% of that $1.5mill is profit before their taxes and expenses. Meaning at best they made $300k, minus taxes makes it around $200k. Which means they are probably worth like an estimated $75k each... Not even close to millionaire

  • @CarterWong91
    @CarterWong91 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Let's demistify the title of this video. I'll start by saying that I am a dropshipper & an Accountant (original trade). First, scaling a dropshipping business to 7 figures in revenue is an incredible accomplishment. BUT $1.5 million in sales translates to roughly $300,000 in Pretax profit. Post tax profit is more like $200,000. Most of this cannot be extracted from the business as you need to cashflows to maintain the growth in the company. Having said that, they probably "make" $100k to $150k. Then divide that by 2 since they split the business (terrible idea) and you now go from being millionaires to very average by western standards. Now, $50k in SE Asia is a lot of money, but if they wanted to move back to Canada or the UK, they probably would live paycheck to paycheck in a big city like London or Vancouver. Again, their business is super impressive, it's hard as crap to scale dropshipping to that level, but they, and most of the "dropshipping gurus" on TH-cam are not only far from millionaires, but probably make less than most of the people watching their videos, at least westerners.

    Why are people asking what the profit is? Subtract hosting, themes, e-commerce fees and tax. Lot of hate going on here.

    • @1Surge
      @1Surge 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GC because they make it seem so easy. When in reality it is not, and stories like these are usually done to sell courses. So it’s like a multilevel scam. Any profit or money comes from new comers and not the actual work/company.

    Nice discreet ad for a 'master class'

  • @de5952
    @de5952 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    this is so misleading! $1.5 mil in sales DOES NOT mean $1.5 million in profit.
    one example: you still have TAXES to pay -- yes, even ~digital nomads need to have a residence and pay taxes on what they earn.
    this for some reason is a very controversial topic for nomads and a lot of them seem to believe that they don't have to.
    whether you set up a company somewhere with low corporate taxation (this is perfectly legal) or simply pay income taxes in your country of origin/residence, you have to pay taxes!
    i'm oversimplifying so don't @ me, but please folks, look into this and don't be fooled by clickbait-y titles like this one.
    there are more things to consider, like the actual margins on drop shipping (at around 15-20%), cost of advertising etc.
    being a nomad or a location independent individual is a lot of fun AND a lot of hard work. there are a lot of resources online but there's also a ton of misleading information 😩
    and finally, please note that the link to the blog post is actually an ad for this couple's ~course ("How We Went From $50K In Debt To Generating $1.5 Million Dollars Online Through Our Ecommerce Website... And How You Can Too In 28 Days Or Less From Scratch". does it sound too good to be true? then it probably is), and hey, it's aimed exactly at people who are frustrated with their current job/financial situation, and offers a solution to all of that. just let it sink in for a sec.
    most digital nomads are only successful because they sell their ~secret sauce to financial freedom to other (aspiring) digital nomads, but in reality it's yet another "get rich quick" scheme.
