- Initiative in Shadowdark has been a topic of conversation many, many times since the game's inception. Whether you run your game rules as written, with "always on initiative," or you have some house rules to allow characters to act out of sequence, we're going to dive into the mechanics on this week's Sunday Shadowdark Show.

So many lycanthropes in Glantri! It's weird how almost nobody talks about Mystara. I enjoyed the setting. I think Kelsy created the Bard and Ranger classes, are they going to expand on them in Cursed Scroll 5 & 6? I'm thinking once the Purple Planet stuff shows up, I'm going to run it for Shadowdark, because why not?
PurpleDark would be an interesting twist. I would really like to hear how that goes if you do that. I've done Purple Planet in DCC and had a great time with it. I bet you could bolt on an entirely new and interesting light mechanic for greenstone shards and the weirdling sun!
If you return to the topic, I'd be interested in more discussion on making the most of crawling turns when you're not the lock-picker/door-listener.
In some of the games I've had with new Shadowdarklings, I've suggested that folks who aren't on point, find ways to help make that person's task easier. Maybe holding the torch to make the Thief's search more effective, or calling out down a passage to see how the echo sounds. Etc.
Great episode. Im allways DM-ing for just 2 people, so Im wondering if you have any advice how to play Shadowdark with small group. That could be a topic...
Great idea! Are you talking 1 DM + 1 Player, or 1 DM + 2 players?
I also run a small table.... 1 DM+ 2 players. So that would be a topic I would like to see you cover, please.
