    How did your family react when you told them you got a regular contract offer ?
    Since, you initially had planned to return to Indonesia ...
    Nevertheless you made a great achievement especially considering the not so great economic circumstances.
    ... but then you have likely left a pretty good impression on your employer so far.

      Hmmm good question...my dad was hoping for it so I think he was glad, my mom was surprised but she knew it was good for me so she was also happy, but also sad that I'll be away for a while. But I'm glad for technology - at least we can voice or video call very often now without thinking of phone bills 😄
      And thank you! I sure hope I leave a good mark at my company ☺️

    I congratulate you on your success. You were very lucky with the job.
    I am from Germany and have also studied mechatronics and learned C programming. I also wrote a few programs during my studies. The funny thing is that I don't have a chance to get a job as a programmer. After graduating, I worked as a CAD designer in the automotive industry for 13 years and would like to switch to programming, but I'm no longer in my early 20s and unfortunately I don't have a chance. I'm almost never lucky in my life. To get a job as a programmer, I would probably have to study a second time.

      Hi! I asked my manager about this. He said both automation engineers and software developers are in demand in Germany because there's a shortage for both. To get a job, maybe it is a little easier to get an automation engineering job because it usually requires some travel and a lot of people don't want that. From income, they're both similar. So he suggests you take the one that you enjoy more ☺️

    What programming languages are most used in your field(automation engineering) in germany?and what programming languages are most in demand there generally?and lastly how is your degree connected to control system engineering and PLC programming...etc? And sorry for bothering you with my many questions 😅

    • @GESTEofficial
      @GESTEofficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thanks for the questions. In my job particularly, I use VB.NET/C#, and for web development JS/HTML/CSS. My colleagues handling PLC stuff use ladder logic/SCL. I have friends working here using python and other languages. So I think there's a wide range of languages in demand.
      My particularly degree is not really connected to PLC programming. I'm doing a lot of MATLAB this semester. 🙂

But I've already made a contract with an international company in Indonesia for 3 years. So I would say when I apply (later) to the company in Germany, I will be having a work experience. Idk if that helps or no.. 🥺
