It's not chaotic once the deck gets going and you see all your cards every turn (I kid you not; I'll untap and go "okay, I need this card this turn, I bet I can draw into it.")
Real question then; do you run any tutors or shuffle effects at all? I tried building mine without any mandatory ones (only 'you may's', and 1 graveyard recycler), doing that makes sure you're not seeing the same cards ever again if you don't want to. I wanted to try some strategy where you could roughly know the order of your whole deck so you could cycle with cantrips and isochron until you find whatever you needed.

Dude, this card is an UNREASONABLE amount of zany fun. I don't always play it, but I can't bring myself to take it apart. My play group knows it's chaotically dangerous, and I've found myself to be the table archenemy with it on more than one occasion, but even when they kill me, I die with a big-ass Joker grin on my stupid face. Highly recommend.

I saw an A and the word Flame and i thought you were about to speak of the glorious giant dad Aegar, the freezing flame. I guess the "actually 6'1 on just on their profile" tribal will have to wait. That being said i respect Arjuns "you aint ballsy enough to bring rhystic study" effect.
People worked it out the day it was released, lol. The reason you barely see it is not because people didn't realise it's busted; it's because most Magic players have at least a little humanity left.
Mildly restricted access to at least triple the amount of cards a blue player normally has will always spell disaster for anyone who wants to play a creature spell, play a non creature spell, or even play the god damned mana they put into their deck.
As a White player (in both Magic terms and my lack of melanin), my hunger for order, creatures and board clear protection are best tempered by Izzet, making sure I stay proactive and keep a fist full of cards to use, even if I don't as often dive into pure chaos. As a Jeskai player, I salute you. Also, day 10 of asking for Kasla, the Broken Halo.
I fill my deck with cantrips as well so land drops aren't an issue. Also my nomination for ritual is Battle Hymn. With the incidental token generation my Arjun deck has, it's easy to net +8 red mana off that one spell.
My Arjun playtime has about a 80% rate of dying while desperately rolling the gacha for the right cards and a 20% rate of decking the table and myself in one turn, yet my friends only ever seem to remember the 20%.
I was waiting for Omniscience to show up when you were talking about salt. It would just be, "Ooo, a card." Play it, "Ooo, a card." And just that, until you are out of cards. My favorite version of this is Niv-Mizzet, Parun plus omniscience. I am become death.

I'm just imagining how you could use this in a Jodah deck. Triggers twice on each Legenadry Cascade, and since you get to pick the order, it can fairly quickly get to the point where you know the order of large chunks of your deck to better control your Cascades.
I remember seeing Alhamarret's Archive, considering it, and then doing a bit of math and determining that if I start with three cards in hand, my average turn decks me without even trying. Of course, I also run Knowledge Pool so everyone partakes in my shenanigans (and I double my draw triggers) so that doesn't help.
Fantastic choice! May I recommend Neera, Wild Mage for the list of Cards that need to be Burned? One of my favorite "What's going on?" Commanders. Or you can do Eldrazi. That's fine too.
Yep! Just accept that your hand is ephemeral, go digging through your deck for something useful each turn, and make sure you have draw and cast triggers ready to add to the chaos.
you should do |Veyran, voice of duality|- they go in the 99 of 99% of izzet decks for a reason, and with effects like storm kiln artist and guttersnipe, you can very easily win in like 1 turn from a seemingly meager board state.
I'll be straight with you, Teferi's Ageless Insight is a risky proposition. Once you untap with it on board, you have a limited number of casts before you deck yourself, and my Arjun build can frequently hit that number on the turn it comes up, especially with Knowledge Pool. For example, let's say you start with 2 cards in hand and play zero draw spells. - Cast (1 card) pool trigger, Arjun double trigger (2 cards) (4 cards). - cast second spell (3 cards), pool, Arjun (6 cards), Arjun (12 cards). - Cast third spell (11 cards), pool, Arjun (22 cards) (44 cards). At this point if you cast another spell you draw more cards than are in your deck and you lose. If you have a bigger hand at the start or any of your spells are draw spells, you can easily lose on the third spell.

As somone who has played a bit of Arjun, the REAL fun begins when you have a Mindmoil in play at the same time and a deck full of instant speed cantrips
this is also really strong with anything that gives all your spells flash (hell, even if you play a deck full of instant speed spells only) because if you have a hand with more than 1 good card, you can just flash in the second one in response to arjun's trigger and resolve his triggers one at a time, flashing in more and more stuff based on what you draw
So underrated. So fun. Makes you feel like a wild izzet manic as your brain has to violently thrash everytime you cast anything. Before I tuned the deck I could deck myself by like turn seven because sometimes your lab man win con and that little lizard that let's you NOT draw cards if you don't want is in the other 50 cards in your deck and anytime you cast anything your drawing 200 cards.

I used to play this in my Zndr Okaun wheel and deal deck, which was in fact... A thinly veiled gambling problem deck. And now suddenly. I feel a relapse urge that I must try VERY hard to push back down. Thank you.
This combos perfectly with River Song. You put your hand on the bottom of your library... and then get your hand right back again XD Although, if you have effects like "if you would draw any number of cards, draw that many cards plus one instead", each spell you cast instantly replaces itself with a new card in hand
My Arjun deck is much more evil than you can comprehend. Once I get thought reflection, alhammerets archive, or teferis ageless insight the game is over. I have 20 zero drops in the deck and I promise i will find laboritory maniac or jace wielder of mysteries the same turn as a draw doubler hits the field.
I have Teferi's puzzle box and a red enchant whose name I am forgetting that does the same thing as this particular card in my superfriends edh deck. But I would love to make a deck with this one as my commander with these two cards. No need to worry about drawing the right cards when you are drawing through your deck rather rapidly. Slinging what works in the moment.
Now see, in theory, if you don't stack your deck with a bunch "I love 2 turn games" cards, this would be a fantastic game of commander. Excellent work Mald, 10/10
Pro tip: instead of corrosion, use sphinx's tutelage. Does the same thing, but if the two cards share a color, they repeat that mill. You are deadly to mono color decks and at worst it is corrosion with a draw and discard added to it.
Rielle the Everwise is another gambling Commander. After you discard one or more cards in one instance (Cathartic Reunion or Forbid as examples), you draw that many cards. She also bets +1/+0 for each instant and sorcery in your grave.
I should consider shoving this into River Song. To cast a spell to just manipulate my bottom draw seems pretty nice actually since see only allows me to draw from the bottom….
I'm constantly tweaking a LG deck that I play, and it was so difficult to take Arjun out. He said it, the economics and the value was tempting, but the constant tossing and finding of win con pieces wasn't working for me. I want to make a full-on chaos deck out of him one day soon, though.
I made my Arjun include Labman because it's funny and the tiny string holding the entire kit together from snowballing me into my death is a 50 or 60 cent card called Obstinate Familiar lmfao. Few times I've cast 1 or 2 spells and decked myself out without protection. But with some neat storm cards you could in theory cast chaos warp on people multiple times with Arjun which is funny.
My favorite play is sohinzes tutaledge, but my second favorite in this deck is everflowing chalic for zero mana, i have a cup now, you can put water or something in it.
I dunno if hes the "Shifting Flame" as much as he is the "Shifting Blame". That damned guy is a walking 7 card Charlie at a Blackjack table. Definitely the kind of guy who'd have a summer home in Las Vegas, just so he can be near The Strip.
I love love love Arjun and his silly chaos. And 1000% I agree god does hate our plans and only give us 1 good card per hand. Big warning if you see a Sheoldred in the opponents command zone, plan to have a kill spell or two to stop that shit, or youll be playing the pain Olympics as you draw a new hand and take 10 every time you try to do your silly fun.
So, I've been running Mizzix moil for years now. runs both mind moil and Arjun. including the goblin granny that is Mizzix, there's 4 creatures in the deck.
I kinda wanna do a deck with this commander that has spells and creatures that force everyone to cycle their hands forcing gambling addictions on all and goofing up plans people make like blue decks with counter spells in hand lol
Even I'm not sure entirely how I managed to get this to work but I made a cEDH version of Arjun and admittedly it's a bit cursed but I'm just happy it can compete.
My Arjun deck infamous for me going "All right, time to take my last turn before getting knocked out" _draws_ "Um, never mind, I win." My record (with zero infinite combos in the deck) is 285 cards drawn in one turn. A standout way to win is cantripping through my deck until I hit Fists of Flame, then swinging for lethal.

This inspired me to make an arjun deck based around drawing my whole deck as fast as possible.
At this point, I can just come to this channel when I want new Commander ideas.

Pro tip: instead of corrosion, use sphinx's tutelage. Does the same thing, but if the two cards share a color, they repeat that mill. You are deadly to mono color decks and at worst it is corrosion with a draw and discard added to it.

I'm constantly tweaking a LG deck that I play, and it was so difficult to take Arjun out. He said it, the economics and the value was tempting, but the constant tossing and finding of win con pieces wasn't working for me.
I want to make a full-on chaos deck out of him one day soon, though.
I made my Arjun include Labman because it's funny and the tiny string holding the entire kit together from snowballing me into my death is a 50 or 60 cent card called Obstinate Familiar lmfao. Few times I've cast 1 or 2 spells and decked myself out without protection. But with some neat storm cards you could in theory cast chaos warp on people multiple times with Arjun which is funny.

My favorite play is sohinzes tutaledge, but my second favorite in this deck is everflowing chalic for zero mana, i have a cup now, you can put water or something in it.
In the colours known for cantrips and rituals... I can't see a problem here.
My favourite part of Arjun is that you will always get your land drop.

I love love love Arjun and his silly chaos. And 1000% I agree god does hate our plans and only give us 1 good card per hand. Big warning if you see a Sheoldred in the opponents command zone, plan to have a kill spell or two to stop that shit, or youll be playing the pain Olympics as you draw a new hand and take 10 every time you try to do your silly fun.
On god might make a deck for this man. Seems way too fun and self-fulfilling.

Even I'm not sure entirely how I managed to get this to work but I made a cEDH version of Arjun and admittedly it's a bit cursed but I'm just happy it can compete.
As an arjun player: Im not ashamed, I will not apologize. Gambling to see what fun my next hand will have is half the fun of commander.

My Arjun deck infamous for me going "All right, time to take my last turn before getting knocked out" _draws_ "Um, never mind, I win."
My record (with zero infinite combos in the deck) is 285 cards drawn in one turn. A standout way to win is cantripping through my deck until I hit Fists of Flame, then swinging for lethal.
