Chu Jai worked as a trekking elephant all of her life, even with a hip injury which affects her walk. We have taken her away from all of that. It took 19 hours on a truck to finally be free. A harmful past is now behind her. Thanks to the team who brought her to us safely, and especially to those who provided the funds sufficient to give Chu Jai a new life at Elephant Nature Park. Very touching to watch. It makes me angry to see how the elephants are treated in trekking, begging, and logging. People in SE Asia have learned cruelty and passed it down for generations. Their eyes are closed to the suffering. I don’t think they mean to be cruel. They do it to make a living. Lek is trying to open their eyes and show them a better way to live with elephants in love and kindness. I wish all good things for her, her helpers, and the elephants.

There have been significant changes in all the elephant-camps that have converted over to Lek's model of Love, and some of them can be seen in the middle of my ENP playlist.
I absolutely love to see another Elephant freed from human captivity !! They weren’t put on this Earth to do a humans bidding, & to be tortured, starved & beatin if they didn’t do these things !! Elephants are a herd animal, along with being gentle majestical giants, not ment to live a horrible life all ALONE....Thank you so much for caring enough to save this beautiful girl...🐘💖👍

How do tourists not notice the crippled bodies and abnormal, repetitive behaviour of unfortunate elephants like this? So glad she's been rescued!
They don't care. They get to experience "Thailand" and they paid good money for it. They are a good portion of the blame while the other half are the greedy b@st@rds, despite the need for money, are willing to throw away their humanity by destroying other lives for their gain. I couldn't help but chuckle how the slaver...I mean owner claimed to want what's best for the elephant yet he was the one who bought the elephant and had it chained and further enslaved despite the injury for profit. And he only sold her because of COVID that caused him to lose money, and the elephant was costing him money instead of gaining him profit. Disgusting! If it wasn't for the greed of squeezing a bit more from the sale, the man would have just murdered the poor elephant instead of selling it away to a sanctuary.

It really concerns me that alot of elephants are being given up by their (evil) owners just because covid came along....what happens when borders are reopened??? These people don't care about elephants, just themselves & the money they make out of them. I wonder how they'd feel if their kids were taken from them & physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually brutalized & treated like slaves.....😡
Their kids are the ones they have been trying to feed and clothe. In the main they are not evil, just trying to stay alive with little education and few resources. You can't judge these people by your standards, they don't have your advantages.

There is such a thing as Conscience, and it's been given to every man. It's what allows a person to know Right from Wrong, and these people know that abuse and brutality is wrong, immoral, unethical. Albeit people may have lacking education and resources, they *know that brutality is *wrong. There are no excuses.

Yes, Darrick's in the first video feeding bananas to her on the right edge of the screen when Lek was talking (at the beginning of that other video), and also in this video, working with the volunteers in how to build the wood-supports for the interior of the truck, and in the arrival video, waving upon their arrival from the back of the truck, and at the end, standing with folded arms on the left of the screen, talking to the volunteers.
