International time zones are fixed by the countries according to their longitude and the prime meridian time or Greenwich mean time (GMT) or the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). This video explains the importance of latitude and longitude in determining the local times along the globe. The reasons behind choosing the Greenwich line as the prime meridian, the method of calculating the local times in different countries, the concept of time zones and the idea of the international date line etc. are explained in this video.

As someone who loves traveling, I was so much fascinated about world time zones and its differences. But I was not aware why Indian time (IST) includes a parameter of half (30 mins) in it. (You can see our Indian time is 1.5 hrs, 2.5 hrs, .. ahead or behind any other countries around the world except Nepal).
Now I understood why is it so.. we took 82.5 degree and hence our timings differ by a parameter of 30 min compared to other countries around the globe.
Very good information video. Even though we can compare different timezones in internet, but most of the guys not aware of how timezones fixed, what is GMT and IST fixed. Thanks for sharing the information from starting level without making complex. Please keep going

Separate time zone
The local time in Assam's tea gardens, known as "Tea Garden Time" or Sah Bagan Time (also used by Myanmar as MMT), is an hour ahead of the IST. The system was introduced during British days keeping in mind the early sunrise in this part of the country.

Day light saving time നെ കുറിച്ച് കൂടെ explain ചെയ്യാമോ? UK, canada, USA പോലെയുള്ള രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ clock adjust ചെയ്യുന്ന date different ആകുന്നത് എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് എന്നു കൂടെ പറയാമോ..
For energy saving. For example, ഇപ്പൊ നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ 6 മണിക്ക് ഇരുട്ട് ആകുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടു നേരത്തെ തന്നെ ലൈറ്റ്സ് ഒക്കെ ഓൺ ആകേണ്ടി വരുന്നു. മുൻപ് 7 to 10 vare use ചെയ്തിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഇപ്പോ 6 to 10 use ചെയ്യേണ്ടി വരുന്നു. ഇപ്പോൾ നമ്മൾ ഒരു മണിക്കൂർ ടൈം മുൻപിലേക്കു അഡ്ജസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുകയാണെങ്കിൽ നമുക്ക് പഴയെ പോലെ തനെ 7 to 10 എനർജി ഉപയോഗിച്ചാൽ മതി.

Very informative session even for me, handled lot of issues due to this in my IT career. Request you to do another session on the day light saving time bcoz many people with their relatives or friends abroad getting confused with this. Actually UK day light time starts from today, hence time difference is 5:30 hours with IST till March. Other months, time difference is 4:30 hours. Details about day light saving time will be helpful for many people who interacts with people abroad.
Exactly👌In Europe, Day Light Saving ended last night, but in the US it will end only by 6th Nov this year. Waiting for Alex’s video on DST.
