When you get a lot of them it can effect you especially when you are young and your brain is still developing. It can effect your impulses and the way you make decisions

That's the whole point of the show. To show that it's likely that teenagers are going to struggle when they have children as teens, especially financially, therefore maybe it's not a good idea for teenagers to have children until they are a little bit older and can make the right decisions to care for their children in every way.
She's always been level headed and down to earth. Not to mention a great mother and great person in general. Love her! ❤

Well from all I've watched of her story...her family is SUPER religious. They also have like 5 or 6 kids in total so idk the mom clearly didnt believe in BC. Lol jk...sorta. But, it's like they cheat on each other, get back 2gether, he treats her lik total shit for ever and then cheats again and he STILL treats her like total shit...so she finally like kicks him out or w.e. and her mother and sisters and shit all are like "well, every marriage is gonna have its problems. The lord looks at divorce as a sin, it's taking the easy lazy way out. And you know you're not perfect either Mac!"
But then her mother dies, and josh STILL IS SUPER SHITTY TO HER, so she kicks him out and all and her sisters I THINK still give her a hard time for wanting to just divorce him.
Long story short: the family is realllllly religious.
Ironically, I’m glad she had her babies and her mom was able to experience being a grandmother and that Mackenzie has pictures with them before she passed on. So sad. 🙏🏽

To everyone being so negative and sad and acting like a woman’s life is over if they get pregnant before college: McKenzie is fine, she runs marathons and has three kids, she is still with josh after 10 years and she seems pretty successful to me. My mom also had me very early but she managed to end uni. Me I’m 26, have a masters degree and work for the European Central Bank. Life sometimes is hard but that’s what makes ir worth it

Sad. This little optimistic princess has no idea what she has done. Education is key. Her sisters know what’s up. She wanted to grow up before she understands what it means to grow up.
She is actually pretty successful, and now has 3 kids and has been with the same guy for 10 years. Having a child might be a roadblock career wise for a while, but is nowhere as catastrophic as people make it out to be
I followed up on her story after watching this, and she has grown into such a mature beautiful young woman inside and out. It is great to see a 16 and pregnant story that is so uplifting.

Long live Ms. Angie. I feel like Mackenzie could do so much better than Josh. But she feels chained to him, in a way, since they have children together.
I don't know anything about any of them, but it seems like she got strapped to her highschool sweetheart. Most of us look back at the people we dated in high school and go "omg what was I thinking!" Yet, in the moment, we are infatuated and everything feels so intense. I think her relationship with her parents has something to do with her clinging onto Josh more than one truly should. However, she limited her potential to grow past this boy to develop a deep and meaningful relationship with someone whose more her equal. He was always meant to stay in the same town doing the same things, but she had potential to be/do more. I think it shows how sometimes we fear our own potential and attach to people/things because it feels more comfortable than having to face the challenges of developing ones identity.

I’m 17 and this is part of the reason I had an abortion. I don’t have the money to raise a baby and the baby wouldn’t have a father. Sometimes it’s what’s best because I knew that baby would grow up horribly.
I grew up relatively poor and without a dad really in my life. Very much happy to be alive though

As someone who was a teen mom I completely understand what you went through. Luckily I had the support a lot of teens do not. If I was in your shoes I’m sure I would’ve made the choice that was best and it seem you did.

Cancer takes the best people I love mac and her mom story I’ll forever think about my aunt when I see her mom I ended up losing her to cancer a year ago.
So heartbreaking it’s the worst:( I just lost my dad to pancreatic cancer last month

Although it’s sad what happened to Farrah’s baby daddy, she basically wanted nothing to do with him after she got pregnant and ignored him. Then when he died she acted like her daughter lost her father, which she did, but he was never involved to begin with because Farrah was a stuck up brat (and still is)
Erin Wilkes I think her family didn’t want her around him. In hindsight it makes sense to have a baby around it’s father, so I think because her family was trying to convince her to give Sophia up for adoption, they didn’t want Derek around to change her mind.

@@thegrimweeperx9319 she didn't die of breast cancer. She had 2 kinds of lung cancer. Never was a smoker, but developed 2 kinds of lung cancer that moved to her brain. Very sad.
