Hey yall, just wanted to write a little disclaimer just incase I wasn’t very clear in the video. I am talking specifically from the perspective of a Canadian born citizen on a TN visa working in America. Thanks for watching :)
Just realized I should have clarified something about travel. If you are adjusting status on a dual intent visa ( h1b / L1 ) then you can travel without AP, assuming you’re still employed on your h1b visa. The travel stipulation only applies to non immigrant intent visas, like the TN etc.
I was also thinking about skool, not sure if you’ve heard about it or have tried it before. Discord is what’s familiar to me so I think that’s what Il do
Thanks for the great content! Can u talk more about the adjusted cost basis? Does it require us to transfer assets (e.g. 401k, RSUs, etc) to a Canadian account or can we leave it in the US?
To be honest I am not very familiar with it since I have only talked with others and done research and have not personally moved back to Canada. I do know that there are ways to move your 401k back to Canada, do u think a video like that would be helpful?
@@khangaroofinance Is it possible for us to jump on a meeting? I'm also a Canadian Software Engineer Entrepreneur and maybe there are possible collaborations between us 🙂
Hey thanks for the comment! While I agree that there are a lot of jobs that only give jobs to US citizens or greencard holders, there are still many jobs that will sponser for H1b/ TN
@@khangaroofinance not sure what industry you mentioned but in my industry, compare to 10-15 years ago when i started, nowadays i have always found TN being classified under sponsorship explicitly by HR. This caused me a lot of trouble now coming to find jobs in US. this is part of the so called MAGA movement, eg Trump as an example.

Thank you Khang; this is very informative.
Thanks :)
I didn't know the TN visa was infinitely renewable. That helps a lot, thanks!
I'd definitely be down for discord channel on this stuff.

Greencard is a better long term solution for married people because spouses of TN holders are not authorized to work in the U.S.
Very true, spouses can work once the tn holder applies for a I-485 and the spouse receives the EAD
that talk to a lawyer graphic went crazy

Thanks for sharing and it's quite informative - would love having a Discord channel for sharing information like this.

@@khangaroofinance never heard of it tbh, Discord has been quite reliable for building up communities of all kind.

Thanks! I appreciate the comment
Too bad I was not birthed a few years later, skill issue indeed:( Great video as always!
Can a TN visa bring his spouse there ?
Thanks for the question, yes you can bring your spouse on a TD visa. TD visa does not have work authorization though

@---zg7ex sorry if I wasn’t clear in my video, I’m specifically talking about the tech industry.
What industry are you in?
So you think Canada’s cost of living crisis will end soon?
Hey thanks for the comment, I have no clue I’m not an economist. But I think that it isn’t a Canada specific thing, it’s a everywhere issue right now
