  • Full Route Visual on-board the Arriva Northumbria X15 service between Newcastle and Berwick-upon-Tweed, via Morpeth & Alnwick.
    Service X15 is the quicker version of the X18 which takes 4 hours to complete, and although both run to most of the same places, the X18 branches off to the Coastal Villages twice, whilst the X15 sticks mostly with the A1...
    It's indeed a nice route to enjoy, although the journey times are slightly excessive, but it's certainly worth trying out as from observations this service does get used as a bus to go on holiday and day trips on, what with it stooping at the Haggerston Holiday Park on route to Berwick, aswell as Beal for Holy Island.

      Thanks Gareth! It was actually a straightforward run (I'm used to these long haul journeys now) although the editing for this has took double the time this journey had taken! It's well worth a ride out as the Northumbria routes are really scenic!

    X 15 is the longest bus route from Newcastle upon Tyne to Berwick-upon-Tweed I did the same route in October 2014 and your video being back memories I enjoyed watching it thank you

    I would love a ride on this, though would prefer it on an E400. Its all been MMCs recently

      I think they try to avoid using E400s now, although it would be nice if one could make a reappearance on the route...

      @@buseswithharvey9663 35 seems to get E400s and MMCs pretty evenly aswell as the Commander. SN15LLG and NK64EER have been on local express routes recently

    Done both X15 & X18, however only X18 both ways. If i have time and feel like it i take the more coastal route, but some days i may do X15, really depends on how i feel.

      They are really nice routes, although the X15 will always be the first choice as 4 hours on a bus is slightly off putting, although I have done it myself.
      Travelsure currently operate some journeys on the X18s between Alnwick & Berwick, which have quite an interesting mix of vehicles allocated, something I need to try myself...

    Great Video! I like that arriva are finally making an effort to tidy up the fleet now, it shows they’re trying to improve customer experiences (probably so they get more passengers), with most of the buses starting to be repainted out of expired brands, older colours & even refurbished inside with new seats, which is a nice addition. Though, I’ve found the refurbishment company isn’t very good, 7556 still has “MAX” wrote on the top front window & the interior paint is already coming off…

      Thank you! Indeed it is, and their fleet presentation is becoming increasingly better moreover, although they do still have a few more buses to go through yet...

      @@centraltransportproductionsI think they should refurbish the NK12 Pulsars (including 1499), since there’s older being refurbished & they definitely need it if you look at the state of them inside & out…

      The VDL DB300s should definitely get repainted though, they’re all in a really bad state, at least by the paintwork

      @@NK53HHX Some of the seats could certainly use a retrim or indeed a refurbishment...

      @@centraltransportproductions1499 definitely needs the seats retrimmed & it probably needs to be repainted too. I highly doubt it’ll spend much time on the 553, I’d see the 553 being allocated to whatever Pulsar is the most broken at that time as it’s a short route which probably doesn’t take much effort for a vehicle to complete.
