Safe parking are not safe !! I met one homeless woman who lives in her minivan she’s 64 years old! She told me that there were a lots of man who goes to those safe parking lots ! She used to go to the JFSSP is the Jewish family services of San Diego ! She was ok at the beginning until she started to get harassed by some of those man who were using the parking lot !! One night she was sleeping and one of those thugs was knocking on her Van windows asking her to let him inside !! Other single women who were going trough the same problems have filled complaints with the office and they alerted the security guard and they were told that they will be keeping their eyes open to make sure it doesn’t happen again ! When she leaves the parking lot in the morning she was followed by a creepy man who found out that she goes to the gym in the morning and he will wait for her outside until she gets out of the gym !! She said one time he broke her side view mirror because she threatened him to call the police !! Finally she decided to leave and go park near the mission beach area where police are almost there either driving by or monitoring the area !! Safe parking lots are not safe !! Women shouldn’t be parking at the same parking lots with men !! A lots of thugs criminals who are trying to take advantage of those women specially those who have income and retirement from the social security !! No where is safe anymore ! She was saying that a lots of people have been there for years and never received any help whatsoever ! @@bernadette63ceo93 My point is that there is safety in numbers, if the parking lot is authorized for ppl living in vehicles it must be better than being alone on the street in a vehicle. The parking lots I've seen seem safe and have portable shower and toilet, and those who stay there help police the area, cleanup, gather food, etc. This is what is needed, community spirit, and not more bullshit.

I live in Honolulu. Across the street from where i used to live was a sidewalk. On the other side of the sidewalk is a rock wall. Going down from that rock wall is brush on a hill. One day i noticed two tents on the side of the rock wall where the brush is. So, i went to introduce myself and ask if i could help in any way. One was a 90 year old man. He told me he gets social security but it's not enough for his own place. The other man was much younger but legally blind and gets disability but that isn't enough to rent even a studio. Kellie is an example of a problem that the public doesn’t talk about - older middle-aged people who fall through the cracks. They’re too young to collect retirement and social security, but they’re too old and have too many health challenges to be appealing on the job market. They’re ending up on the streets because they were laid off, and they burned through their entire savings because the job market doesn’t find older workers appealing, so they remained unemployed.

Had I had time to, maybe it wouldn’t have went as well. I was broken as mentioned by many but my faith has kept me going. I thank all to the 😂support I have received. It has rebooted my faith in humanity❤️ Mark, thank you for spreading the word and all the advocates and people at the ground level from the housing to the nonprofit organizations. Thanks to all of you who try to do the endless work with minimal pay and have their hands tied by the people up top, taking all the funds. There should be an audit of some type or checks and balances on this money. 3 billion dollars each year and we still have 167,000 homeless people? You do the math. And for anyone that thinks it’s as easy as filling out an application and following the steps is sadly wrong. I have a master’s degree and it’s been impossible to navigate through the system having did everything right. Can you imagine the less fortunate people, some not as educated, have severe mental illness and or substance use disorder.I would imagine each of us fall in that category somewhere along the way or some family member atleast. There are thousands of people that have much less than I do so I feel blessed in many ways. Things can always be worse. I used to be one of those people that had it all at one time and if you think it can’t ever happen to you, think again. Most people are one or two steps away from me. I pray it doesn’t to anyone else. The climate of major change is about to come, and I don’t think most people know it or in denial of it. I would say in a few years, millions of people will be fighting for their jobs and if you don’t see it, I feel sorry for you. I am confused as how a council member calls what happen on Jefferson a success??? By just moving the problem somewhere else in the community and disrupt many others? What did this council member do that was so successful?? Put more people on the street and try to take their only place to live? That is the easy way out! Cars driving 70-100 mph killing nature along the way is not causing harm to the environment? The sewage from playa del Rey isn’t in that water? The people on the hill should be more concerned about the gas company right below them! the elevation change in the 1960’s caused the major damage of the wetlands and greed! Who really owns Jefferson st and why did they lie to us and illegally ticket us. Even more strange was the warnings we got about being illegally parked in a bike lane when it had never even been proposed to the city, or the drunk driver that hit a few people on bikes that the police never came out on nor is there any report anywhere by the police? Could it be that Jefferson is an easement? That the city contracts with maybe? We can’t fight because we don’t have the funds to do so. I wish someone had the balls to stand up and maybe file a class action lawsuit for the 2.3 million that was proposed to house and give vouchers to the homeless, instead they lied and said we would all get a 2 year voucher if we gave up our RVs and then a week before august put some bullshit warning about parking in a bike lane and gave us ten minutes to leave? She knows exactly who SHE is. How She can take pride in that is disgusting. Taking advantage of the poor and misappropriating funds to make you look good is not a success and you should be ashamed of yourself. And She knows exactly who she is as she rewards herself all over the news. And so I’m saying this, will I be targeted? I will not shut my mouth. The people in support of me put another spark in me to fight and have our questions answered. So I challenge any council member to give us a chance to speak at a meeting to express our ideas and have some accountability on where are vouchers went to? The 2.3 million that was shot down ? I was promised and many others were promised housing and were thrown back out on the street from the hotel as they are at the same time checking more in? Then it hit me. They are getting money each time someone enters and leaves and they are turning and turning and turning making millions off the homeless. I saw it with my own eyes. That is where a lot of your taxpayer money went to I guarantee it. And it is despicable what is happening and yet nobody has had to answer for it!! It’s difficult to trust anyone if you can’t trust the people that are supposedly fighting for you. Maybe I said too much? Maybe I will never be housed because of it. Some may make sure I never get housed but maybe I have helped many others out there for calling out the corruption from the top. Or maybe it is too broken to fix. I am speaking only from my own experience and knowledge. Any comments are welcome. Thank you again and God bless everyone in need!!

I was surprised when Ms. Kellie mentioned that she has (presumably grown) kids. While we don't know the history of "the mistakes" she's made, the drifting away from multi-generational households to a huge scattering of single people living in isolation puts undue stress on so many of our citizenry. We're pack animals from an evolutionary standpoint; what happened since "The Waltons?"
You know what, family can just not care. Don't assume it's her and not them. If anyone can leave a family member in this situation the problem is theirs not hers.
My parents expected me to make my own way in the world - so I joined the Army, built a career, and made my home 1,700 miles away. 35 years later, my aging parents can no longer care for themselves.... and their only child is not there to help them. I asked them to come, but they say they are "too old to move". Their choices added up over the years, and now the outcome is terrible. Multigenerational households were a good thing. What a shame families don't stay together.

Housing first. People simply don't understand how difficult it is to get and keep a job when you have nowhere to shower. Many don't even have IDs to even get a job, nevermind references and everything else.

The way biden is running the country we will all end up like this woman. Why do you think they keep stacking up the debt? One giant giga recession coming up and if I were you all I'd be taking notes on how to survive homelessness off these people
Saldy homelessness and just flat-out being poor has been a chronic issue pretty much since society has been a thing cause people love having more than others and having more power than others
We are ruled by people who are joyless, selfish and heartless. There are a few who believe they were elected to serve but most just want to have power over people, especially the vulnerable. It would be so easy to provide land with electrical, sanitation and other basic services. Think of all the malls that are abandoned throughout the country but those in power don’t want to spend the money.

I've been to India. I've been to Brazil. The way that America treats homeless people is much, much, WORSE than what goes on in third world countries. Yup, I have seen people that work with vouchers or low income housing help out every single person in their family and friends before helping the homeless get housed, I personally seen it for many years where my grandma was a property manager, the workers are so scandalous.

Mark, thank you for spreading the word and all the advocates and people at the ground level from the housing to the nonprofit organizations.
Why don’t they leave California or go to a smaller town, I live in a rv and am 71 yrs. young. I am in Arizona and there’s a lot of BLM land where a lot of people are living in rv’s. Get out of the city, who wants to live in that.

At least in third world countries, poverty itself is not viewed as a crime. At least in those countries, people who have no money ate still allowed to live SOMEPLACE. They are not criminally prosecuted simply for the fact of thier mete EXISTENCE. America has manipulated the law so that now, a person who does not have access to a certain amount of wealth, is not allowed to live ANYWHERE.
America certainly sticks to it's INDEPENDENCE theory!
@@xziztortheeternal6471 The thing is - it doesn't. Homeless people ARE independent. We are probably more independent than any other element of society. Most of us receive few - if any & government benefits. The only thing that we rely on is ourselves., We even have to figure out ways to negotiate basic things like water, electricity, garbage and sanitation. A few weeks ago someone called the police on my husband for the heinous crime of filling water jugs from a hose at a dog park! To be clear - WE ARE NOT THE ENEMY! We do not victimize, abuse, or exploit ANYONE. Even our 'carbon footprint' is negligible. Furthermore, we actually HAVE a home! Why does the fact that my house has wheels make it 'unsuitable for habitation'? It has water, electricity, a refrigerator, a toilet, a stove, it keeps me warm and dry in the winter, cool in the summer, and its locking door and security cameras keep me and my dogs as safe as any house. However, because I am not connected to a power grid, and am able to survive with little money and zero debt, The Powers That Be do everything in thier power to make my existence as difficult as possible.
That is not easy..

@@BelleOfAmherstI wonder if you retired from trucking. Does the company offer you 401k pension plan for retirement?. That definitely could supplement social security too. Also over the years you could have bought a house as well since back then housing was cheaper.
I was driving for a owner operator had no benefits other than freedom of driving where I wanted pulling grain wagon
My ex took everything so I lived in apartment but now rent went up more than I can afford hotel is cheapest but I'm still looking for a place
With SS Retirement you could live well in Mexico. In Mexico City you can rent a Penson for $88 a month. Private room single bed, wifi utilitie4s. Showers and tv room down the hall. Typical street food meal is $1.50 breakfast, lunch or dinner. Safer than any US Cities. You are told of danger because it is Projection blaming others for y7our very own problems. In Mexico you can live on 30% of what you could in the US. Better health Care than Medicare also for 30% the price.
Will someone please, please help this woman? Please??!!! And her sweet little dog. No human being should have to endure this level of corruption and abuse. Please someone. Help her!!!
This country is so sad we allow this to happen to our citizens yet allow tens of millions of illegals to walk over here get places to live food to eat ,cell phones and we have veterans living on the streets. Everyone needs to stand up and trust in God to know what is right one day hopefully this will end😢❤
I hope this woman has found or at least finds a beautiful home very very soon ❤️ What a wonderful woman ❤️ She deserves only the best ❤️
It would be so helpful to hear the whole story of how this woman started with an education and a job, and ended up homeless. A vague reference to "medical issues" and "mistakes" doesn't tell the whole story. I wish we could hear more details...not just complaints about how the government isn't helping. The government is run by inept criminals - DO NOT RELY ON THEM FOR HELP! All we have is ourselves...Please help us understand the whole story, so we do not make the same mistakes!
If she has a masters in teaching she could teach online or do other things online to make money. I also have health issue that make it nearly impossible to work outside the home, so online work has been a blessing. I hope she finds her way to a more peaceful existence soon.
But we don't really know if she's telling the truth. She probably is but what led her to this? I'm thinking it's possibly the same thing. Let her to not be able to work and I personally think it's pain pills
A lot of the funds for the homeless is spent on "administrative services." They give themselves big paychecks. Oh look we arranged a hotel voucher. We are now out of funds😢
It's way overdue for a real forensic audit of all these agencies and shelters, who are profiting off the homeless.
I live alone and it scares me to death to think that if I become disabled or unable to work, I have NO ONE who can take me and my animals in or help me with expenses. I almost think I watch these to see what i'm headed for. I hate that feeling. Life can be freakin scary.
I hope this programme helps this woman out it’s heartbreaking. .I live in the uk we got homeless people and it getting worse
I have tears in my eyes. Heartbreaking.
Keep a good relationship with your family and eat your pride so that you have a place to be if you’re facing homelessness. Even a tiny parking spot on a relative’s property would bring her stability and probably be much more safe.
They don’t want to get married or maintain healthy relationships with family. They just want taxpayers to fund their independent lifestyle. Make better choices while you’re young and you probably won’t end up like these homeless old women.
I wish I could help her. 😢
Same! I can barely afford monthly rent
Not trying to be mean but, you can't help somebody who won't help themselves. And let's not forget... No good deed goes unpunished!
😢😢😢 Kelly i❤ your doggy! I was wondering what his name was? I also wondered if the RV actually runs??? Hope it gets better for you.
This can be any body my heart ❤️ goes out to her. School she went to school worked yet. Lord have mercy.
I wish i could help. Left LA cause i had to.
Me to. I’m just getting by paying my monthly rent. It’s so high
The crimes against the homeless need to be prosecuted
That poor pup, needs a stable home while she gets her life together. I can't imagine he's getting the food, water and healthcare that he needs.
She needs help too, of course, but Making the pup homeless is doubling the problem.
I like her dog. Somehow a bit less invisible
Bravo america, you realy take cate of your own and you realy love your young , see you whith a great future, as all of the world, houseing ,health , education , should be free , when you give you can control easyer , when people have nothing to loose and are hungery , beware because they will fight the elite and the goverments all over the world, the young will wake up someday
She said they told her she didn't abide by rules. It's important to follow rules. Heartbreaking.
Um… the rules are often punitive void of any human dignity. You would not abide by them. It’s important we get people off the streets into housing with support
@@InvisiblePeople No use of alcohol or drugs or fighting. They should allow let's. But I don't see how not getting drunk or using drugs and not fighting punishes people. There are treatment programs. Fingers even have rules.
I said I did abide by all the rules. You must of misunderstood. It’s the govt and non profit organizations that aren’t abiding by the laws and stealing the $3 billion dollars a year that is set aside for homelessness. I have lived, witnessed it and sickened by how much these people lie to you. Not all of course. There are many that do the hard ground work, underpaid and struggling themselves. God bless the Good ones!
Don't worry, GOD stil ❤ you
Pity her for Being Homeless....Stay Strong....Fortunately she Got a Van...to keep her belongings...(Maybe Get a DECENT Job...n Tiny House...just to Secure a Safe Place..)..
Mark please do an update on this woman. To her I say continue to "stay strong and keep the faith".
Unfortunately, her only hope is to leave, the Country and sneak back in, misidentifying her Country of origin. .
