      Would definitely consider buying. Been in the market for a conversion van for bout 1yr. Not sure if I should just wait for one of these to come out. Conversions have been popular as of recent, and it feels like the automakers are catching on. Although smaller, the VW California Camper is very nice, but only offered in Europe. The GMC Savana AWD conversion is also nice.

    My dad had a GMC Vandura when I was a kid and the countless of awesome memories I had are priceless! Long road trips to visit family for the holidays, rest stops at gas stations, picnic areas, and since the Walmart's were opened 24-7 back then, midnight shopping for toys and snacks. Fun times having my father drive my entire soccer team to the games and fastfood drive-thru afterwards. I've never owned a van before, but I might now! 🙌

      You wouldn't get it as a 4x4 if u have the diesel engine though. Gm never made a 4wd van in the 3500 series savanna or express van series. Only a 1500 short wheel base came AWD. I don't see that changing.

    A high top, 4x4 as standard, lockers, and cargo body would propel these into highly desirable overland platforms.
    Camper buildouts are prized much more than passenger haulers, and it has been tough to compete with Sprinters in that market so far.

  • @Summitclym
    @Summitclym 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I’ve considered finding an old one, a 4WD to customize. Buying a new one with new technology and features? Much better! This platform is 10x better than Sprinter vans. For 100x it must have 3/4 or 1 ton platform, simple push rod big block V8 like the Ford Godzilla, decent towing.

    Just sold my custom 87 Vandura with a high top and eyebrow windows. I miss the hell out of it, wish I never sold it.
    That thing was like a rolling social experiment… almost every guy who saw it would say “oh you have a creeper van” (even though it was bright orange and had windows so no, not a creeper van) and then would try to look inside. Yeah right, you just called my big orange baby a creeper van, piss off.
    Women however LOVED that thing. I would come out of work or a store and would catch them taking selfies with it and more than a few times girls I didn’t know at all would just jump inside uninvited to check it out. This didn’t happen at car shows or anything just random parking lots!
    Just goes to show however cool something is guys usually want approval from other guys before they’ll say so but girls… not so much.
    Hell yes, that looks pretty cool. I would buy that and customize it but would still prefer an old Ford, Chevy or Dodge.
    Why the hell hasn’t anyone made a cool modern minivan yet like the old Corsair Greenbriers (no the MPV and Astro were not cool. The Previa and space van got close) ? Way overdue.

    I don't want a minivan, but this type of Van would be absolutely something I would have. And it's not like for the family. It will be something like my truck. I still want the power and muscle. I'm going to call it the tank and it's going to do everything I need for the most part. And yeah it will be comfortable as well bas functional inside

    As a Van Guy since the 70s I would as long as it had decent headroom, Like the spoiler skip the red painted slash. Get real out in the boonies wheels tires and ride height suspension. Drivetrain strong enough and set up to haul a boat or travel trailer. And set up to be livable for all climate conditions. 4×4 would be fantastic but not necessarily a game changer. 3/4 or 1 ton please. Solar panels battery banks and top notch extreme weather insulation with the spray on noise and moisture barrier. Set up for getting out of dodge if necessary. And lets not forget the top of the line stereo system cause I have a huge rock and blues addiction. Is that 2 much to ask 4?

    Even though it 's been a thing for a while now, every time I see renderings like this, I'm still amazed at how realistic they look.
    The only thing I would critique is the front door looks too short which would make the front of the cab too small for practical use. I mean people still have legs and feet that need to go somewhere. Between the wheel well and the engine box, there'd be no room for your toes.
