This movie gets a bad rap. It was beautiful and entertaining. Reviewers destroyed this movie. I have it my 3D movie collection and I've watched and enjoyed it several times.
My uncle is a CPA, smart as they come. And yes. Going through the proper channels is as bad, if not worse. Especially if you're trying to change a title over out of country from deceased husband to deceased wife, to living new husband. It's a mess. And they already had him start all over once befor. It's a red tape nightmare.
So that little interaction at 1:15 might be one of the most personally impactful moments in all of cinema for me. As in it kind of affected the entire direction that my life took? Like, less the scene itself, but more my interpretation of the meaning of it and how I applied it to my own life? And what that said about me as a person?
@@FreedomTalkMedia Perhaps a bit of hyperbole on my part, but my read of it on my first viewing (as a then closeted and deeply repressed, but aware, trans woman) was the feeling of running into someone like yourself but also in a different place in life. The initial recognition and quick attempt to act like you didn't just see a bit of yourself in them. Now I see that it was just the lighting, but on my first viewing it looked like the doppelganger was wearing significantly more makeup... Obviously none of this was really in the film itself and was simply projection of the emotional baggage I brought into it. I was aware of this, and it was the first time I accepted to myself that no matter how hard I tried that I wouldn't be able to fully repress who I was until I was "normal". Also this scene got me to watch Brazil, which caused me to become deeply disdainful of (and eventually quit) my then Kafkaesque job as a telephone pollster for various, often simultaneously competing, political campaigns.
Well that’s very accurate. Maybe life isn’t exactly like that but at times has for me, anyway, come very close… I learned to slow myself down and read every sentence 5 times to be certain of exactly what they’re saying, and still messed it up half the time. I look at the screen and I can tell that it's packed to the hilt with money, yet instead of feeling like a real universe, it just looks made up. Everything is so clean, movement is all fluid, lighting always perfect, makeup on everything. It's a giant shimmering plastic diamond... the size is impressive, but it's worthless.

The acting performances uninspiring and the action sequences are incredibly boring despite containing some very unique stuff. The whole vibe of the movie is just bad for some reason. I think it’s the characters. The characters are boring.
