    2 Corinthians 1:9-10 NKJV
Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, [10] who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,
    The plan of salvation.

Love this! I must testify that the LORD gave me many of those promises decades ago when I was going through great trials. The references for a new heart I would pray over many people, myself included. I'm thankful for the reminder because I have many ppl I'm praying for on the half hour for the LORDs healing and salvation.
I have seen the results of the way the LORD restrains evil when we do battle prayers for people. The LORD can and will when He chooses to, hold back the winds of destruction in a person's life and over His people until as many as possible can be redeemed. If they reject it or accept it is their choice still, but the Holy Spirit can arrange events that wake them up. As He did in me long ago. He desires to save everyone. I pray people have the veil taken away from their eyes before it's too late!

To add another note, in my experience when I read 1 John 5: 16, I was on my knees pleading for salvation for a close person in my life, I didn't understand the verse, then I believe the LORD showed me the meaning. All sin is a sin unto death. We know that. So how do we delineate between sinners we can pray for, or those He doesn't want us to. I believe it's if they are alive. As long as they are alive we can pray for them, if they are dead, we know we can't pray for the dead. A sin unto death, simply means the dead cannot repent. They cannot change. But how many people have you seen who came out of a very dark life of bondage to great sins. I have seen it enough to know, there's no sin so bad that the LORD cannot save. Pray for the LORD to send the right person to be used to open their eyes. The LORD specializes in lost cases. I am one myself if not for the LORD.
Blessings and prayers for you all!

I came to the SDA church because my Pentecostal pastor told me that the SDA’s had the truth about the sabbath and he followed tradition.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.”

Afflict our souls. Our souls have carnal minds. So is afflicting our souls crucifying our carnal flesh?

If you analyze the first violation of command in genesis it was actually a violation of the first commandment of the 10 moral law, which is " Thou shalt have no other gods before me".
