TheNasher61 it’s pretty hard man I play goalie in ball hockey and your not that bad for be new just watch some goalies do the butterfly and just watch how much you challenge or you’ll give them open shots
Your dropping is good, but you aren't keeping your arms out there much on shots. Only other thing I can think of is to be more aggressive with the stick, most players don't expect a poke check.
I’ve been playing goalie since I was in 1st grade, now I’m in 8th you need to stay square with the puck, let the player commit first on the shot knuckles down on the blocker , and glove up but not to shabby for you’re 2nd game better than me when I started now I play A/AA
You need to keep your stick down. I saw u let up some goals in your five hole because of it. One glove can save the puck (or ball). Your putting both of your gloves to one puck (or ball) with opens the entire other side of the net if there is a second chance for the shooter. Your to tight together when you’re trying and making saves. STAY SQUARE. Stay square to that puck at all times, I can’t tell you how important it is to stay square to the puck. Now, the most important one of them because it keeps you safe, ALWAYS FACE OUT TOWARDS THE RINK. Never face backwards because if there is a quick pass out in front and then a hard shoot comes in and hits you in the back, that will hurt a lot because your back is your least protected area on your body when playing goalie.
Tip one don’t let a shot in Tip two get up faster they can get a rebound if they’re fast enough Tip three find a possession that you like Tip four don’t go to the butterfly all the time the same thing will happen in tip two Tip five don’t dive only if you are out of the net Tip six do more poke checks it has a chance to hit (also you can dive to get the rebound) This next tip sometimes helps me Tip seven pretend that you are being watched don’t let the people down Tip eight don’t be afraid to slide Tip nine don’t forget the V.H. Tip ten use your blocker more cause it’s there and you paid all that money for it 10:19 you didn’t use it Tip eleven don’t sit down or lie down they can get a rebound And no I don’t think it’s a goal
Hey nasher I am no pro at goalie but I did play goalie for a couple years and would like to give you some tips 1:your stick positioning is huge for an example you don't have to butterfly every time you can cover a lot more goal as long as you keep your stick on your five hole 2:When you go into your butterfly you are keep your pads to close spread your pads out and open up your five and put your stick in place it makes a big difference 3:if you have time to react to where the puck is going put your whole body in front of the puck for example if you see the puck going glove side don't rely on your glove too much put your whole body in front this will help alot with it going under your arm 4: Challenge the shooter more another way to cover a lot more net a good way to gauge it is to stay right in front of the crease
WHAT A SAVE!!!! The goals that looked challenging for u to stop is the ones under your arms which is the sweet spot to score on goalies, but try to keep your hands out in front of u and keep your arms relaxed(shake your arms out after a stop or break in play) it always helps me in net. good luck!
3 things I noticed as a keeper myself. 1) when a slapper is coming and you can see it, move more upwards toward the shot, your d-men will handle the rest. 2) when you go butterfly, keep the stick blade on the surface to cover cover the bending motion , so if you can't get to your knees fast enough, the stick will cover this for you. 3) when you face a shot, always keep your armpits as close as possible to your body to stop the balls / pucks from going through you. Keep it up Nasher, for a second time it was not so bad. Practice makes perfect.
With 3 years of experience (so I may not be the best person to listen to) I have learned that you need to challenge the shooter more. It seems awkward and its mentally challenging to get used to it at first but you need to stand at the top of the arc of the crease, farther away from the goal line. From a shooters perspective you appear to be bigger and cover up more angles in the net, making it much more difficult for the shooter to find a shot. When they start coming closer, start to back up towards the goal line, that way if they try and get around you there is minimal space. Also look for that pokecheck more, most shooters don't expect that from a goalie. Hopefully this helps to get you a blank! Good luck Nasher!
tips!! 1st goal you were too far back in your net and off your angle 2 off angle move further out 3 in butterfly glove up 4 five hole get down faster 6 lucky 7 in butterfly blocker up 8 in butterfly glove up 9 stay on the post 2nd game 1 lucky 2 move to the right so that your foot is ageist the post 3 get over quicker 4 get down quicker 5 lucky 6 don't dive stay up 7 use stick and get in butterfly 8 unlucky
@thenasher61 I’m a huge fan and a goalie. When guys are sniping you come further out of the net. You might get burned, but the defensemen has more control and can force the player away from the net. Being further out gives players much less net to shoot at and helps me when I am playing against a high talent level. When the defense can rely on you to make routine saves you will let in a lot less goals. Keep up the great vids!
I have 2 tips pertaining to the butterfly. Firstly, you should always put the stick blade down to close the 5 hole, and secondly, you should try to spread the butterfly outwards a little more to the sides to cover more space.
9:42 That is actually a beautiful post recovery imho. I played dek goalie for lulz until I could afford the ice gear. The fact you can't butterfly slide at all makes the job much, much harder. Do not be discouraged by seven goals buddy. (I know this comment is way late, but this is the first time I watched)
When u do the butterfly spread your legs out wider so u can cover more space, u can also move further away from the net so it looks like you take up more space than u do. Finally always keep your blocker and glove up so you can catch or block the shot, otherwise your good
Hey Siv, I highly suggest watching a goaltending instructional video. Your positioning to the puck isn’t terrible but can be improved. I feel like you don’t actually watch the puck, you just get in position and butterfly. Use your reflexes and put your parts in the way. All those goals under your arms can be prevented. I watch you play offense and you can knock pucks out of the air, how is getting your blocker, glove, or arms in the way of an oncoming puck or ball any different? Rebound control was bad, but honestly you let so many goals in there weren’t many rebounds. When I learned goalie my goalie friend help a ton. Ask your goalie friends for help. My dad was a goalie and still plays net when he gets the chance to play. He can tell you never turn your entire body around when the puck is behind the net, only turn your head in the direction of the puck. I played goalie for a few years, now I’m a forward. Trust me, it’s best not to turn yourself all the way around.
Fivehole soooo big, they call it the mariana trench jkjk, u are such an amazing influence and a amazing hockey player, but beyond that you are an amazing role model for me.. you have such a great personality, I strive to be the person u are and the player you are!! 🤘🤘 Love your content, waitin on the Nhl 19 vids!!
Keep the stick is always in front of your 5-Hole, keep your elbows close to your torso, and don't just drop into your butterfly slam your knees down into your butterfly (padding is there for that reason). Love the videos man, keep going for that shutty
Shoulders up and wide when dropping, don't colapse control your butterfly, glove and blocker up and out, track the ball until its covered, stick on the "ice", and use angles to take up the net.
Nasher I’m here to help, the shots that are going under your arms the way to fix that is by keeping your elbows in on your body in your butterfly or on your feet and also before each play you need to make sure your in the right position by doing that you have to make sure your in the middle of the net and then you pivot and move out to the puck not the player, and also if someone is coming down on you follow the puck not the player, the player won’t do anything it’s the puck thats going to do something and one last thing when your taking a on a shot have your blocker and catcher out in front of you it’ll cut down try angle and it makes it easier to save it.
Honestly biggest thing is getting out of your crease more The farther out are the less angle the shooter has, but it also essentially makes your chest a bigger target eliminating some of the under the arms shots that happened in the video Five hole is timing but that’s just what it’s gonna be Next biggest thing is your butterfly is very small Your knees are tucked and the pads are more parallel to you the out wide taking the net away Your goal is to be as big as possible and use your reflexes as little as possible. So yea white line on the curve on almost every shot Legs out wider to make yourself bigger. That also helps side to side movement (of course you can slide very little on anything other then I’ve so that also is gonna be what it is.) Hopefully that doesn’t offend in any way because it was solid work just a rough day 🤷🏽♀️
Ok, Nasher you got to be aware of your positioning for example step out more you don’t have to stay in your crease and make sure that your movements are sharp so like when you go in the butterfly you gotta shoot down than right back up. If the puck/ball is shot at your chest don’t try and punch it away try and catch like trap on your chest with your hands. Lastly it was still a great video
When you go to butterfly you must keep your hands next to your body and when is 1 on 1 situation try to have you stick between your legs. And when is the attacker 1 or 2 meters in front of you try to go to the "block" it looks like in NHL when you hold R2 on PS4 and RT on X-BOX. Thanks for read.
1. Callange the shooter a little more. The crease looks a little smaller than average so try to stay closer to the top of it. 70% of goaltending is positioning and cutting down the angle as much as possible while still giving yourself a chance to make the save should he pass, which leads me to- 2. Make sure you know where the shooter's teammates are for possible passes. Your job is to stop the shot so don't get caught out of position cause you're looking around, but know where a pass could go if he does decide to. It helps you read a possible One-T or a backdoor tap in.
Bro the five whole goals though your stick is way over when moving so always lead with the stick and only teach puck have shoulders squared and play at top of blue paint when moving side to side don't move glove and blocker and drop down all weight to knees
Yo nasher there are some inline blades that are made for goalie to slide and move quicker. Also there are some pad covers to help you slide more on concrete
you have the beginner issue of you start in good position but then every time you follow the puck across you retreat deeper and deeper into the crease. as for the low glove saves just keep your gloves forward and if you think they are shooting for you hips just focus on dropping and keeping your hands tight to your hips to make a wall.
You're not that bad. I haven't played goalie in years but I'll try the best I can to give you advice. Always keep your stock down that way it prevents a five hole goal. The other thing is positioning. Position is key. I seen another guy comment and tell you to come out more. He's right. I always played aggressive and it worked for me. But then again, I based my game off of Marc-Andre Fleury. If you have to look behind you real quick and see how much of the net you are leaving open. That's what I used to do. Just make sure the puck/ball is not in your zone when you do that lol. The last thing I noticed was hand-eye. Always keep your eyes on the puck/ball. I never looked at the skater I always looked at the puck/ball and I went wherever it went. Hope this helps and keep er' goin! :D
When you are going on your knees if you can I noticed that the pads aren’t fully clicking together and that how you let some of the five holes go in but you did really good props to you luv the vid 👍
as playing outside gets hot get a dangler instead of the bib. pads look tight, like they were under rotating a bit try looser on the top 2 calf straps. best advice is keep your chest centered with the ball/puck and hands up and out. look into slide plates as well they help a ton for me
Whats up dude! I figured you are gonna be overwhelmed with comments😂 but one thing I can say is... to Square up with the “puck” and not the player. It will help close those weird holes and when you go into your butterfly drop the glove and blocker to the top of the pillows to close up the underarm. Sure it is leaving the top shelf open but I believe it is easier to raise the arms then lower the arms🤷🏻♂️ I played net as a kid for several years and picked it back up in College and having a blast!!! Keep it up brotha and don’t say the S word before the game (;
Hey Nasher your doing great between the pipes. I am a goalie training coach and here’s a tip that may help. Keep your hands in front of your body. It will help you place the ball in your glove or on your blocker. Much love from Canada
I would say to keep a wider base when facing those shots You can cover more area with your butterfly and you can drop down quicker when you spread your legs out farther
Warning: this is a little long but heres some possible answers to your problems you said your having. For your glove side (blocker as well) you want to lean into the shot. For example the goal on 5:40. If you leaned into it (and position your hands out a little more) you wouldn’t have to extend your arm out all the way. Not leaning makes the reaction take longer and the net more open. Dont worry though I have the exact same problem on my glove side, its a hard habit to kick. Just takes practice. Keep it up! Edit: Another thing I noticed is you drop your hands/arms down when you butterfly. Going off of what you said about them going in under your arms try to keep your hands up and out in front of your chest a little more instead of next to your sides and low. :)
I am not an ice hockey player, (actually I play field hockey) BUT I play as a goalie too... I have Only one advice for the equipment: All seems perfect, but the helmet's cage not offers that much visibility, You should buy a Bauer HM30 cage... This cage is the best for goalies, you don't need to buy a full mask, HM30 offers max protection, and max visibility. (sorry for bad england)
Let's gooooo. Tendy life is not an easy life on small little miss step and it's a G. I myself have no tips with only two games under my belt but left elbow in glove up
Honestly as a goalie the biggest problem I see is your seeing the ball but turning from it and letting it come to you. If you get lower and keep your arms out trying to be aggressive on the ball rather than turning and opening more of the net you’ll be fine. Also mad respect because playing with a ball sucks and playing as a new goalie with a ball is worse.
You need to rename this series to be 'The Very Long, Winding, Neverending, Treacherous, Pot-hole Filled, Traffic Jammed, Under Construction Road to a Shutout'
Bro you lookin like dude perfect stereotypes out there, I don't know how that got through, my bad, the rollerblades are harder that I thought Still love the videos nasher
Try too keep your stick down angle off the shooter hug the post and break in the glove while your like watching tv have it on and just open and close it or you could throw a ball at the wall and practice catching. You should also always watch the players blade it will determine where the puck is going
Stay square to the puck. Don’t move your arms around so much. Keep your stick between your fivefole. When the puck is behind the net. Don’t turn your whole body to face it. Keep your back to it and look over your shoulders. Always just keep track of the ball. Mad respect for playing tendy. You’re not bad considering you just started
As a dek goalie ive learned to square up to the shoot the angles and open space you have that i notice from the net cam is to much U seem to not want the ball to hit u in the chest so u always "push" the ball with ur glove and blocker when its mid aid and that honestly does nothing except rebound, absorb the ball when it hits ur chest and dont be scared I suggest ordering "sliders" and attach them to ur pad so u can move better side to side especially when your going from post to post cause you're coming completely out of your net to look for the ball once Its in back Poke check is helpful Ur aggressive enough when ur in ur key so thats good(gotta say atleast one positive thing)
when a shot goes high on you tend to stick both your arms out front of you instead of reacting to the shot. Just thought that may be a little helpful! Also I play AAA I know what im talking about haha. Great vid nash
Ive played goalie before but the tips i got from coaches was lets them do the first move and watch the ball hit you but good luck you will get a shutout
Hey nasher I think it was no goal. Good save. I have a little tip for you!! Try to stay on top of your crease at all times it makes you look bigger. Good luck next game.
A lot of the time you were either out of position(Most likely the most difficult thing about being a goalie but try to line up your belly button up with the puck it will help you out), sometimes you cant take blame for the goals sometimes it your defense, also when you go in the butterfly your stick goes out to your side leading to your 5 hole being open
I am a goaltender and u r not square in your goal i have some tips for you. First your positioning is bad so practice it to be more confortable and more faster Secondly practice your reflexes because all your goals are goals you should stop Finally you should positioning your hands more in front of you so you could see the ball with your eyes when you stop a shot but you have a great base so keep on working about it and you will be great sorry for my english i am a french fan from Quebec
@TheNasher61 3 things I would say scratch the roller blades you were better without them. And then the other 2 are keep your stick on the ice (or ground in this case) and when you go down your arms kinda of go in like your protecting your chest then go back out to try and stop the puck(ball) so try and work on keeping your arms more out to your sides and not your chest.
I'm not exactly the best person to take goalie advice from cuz I haven't actually played the position a lot myself But maybe try and switch up yr stance to a bit lower and wider which should make going into the butterfly a lot easier and that should help u focus on reacting with yr arms faster to make so nice snags Love yr vids btw keep it up
TheNasher61, a big thing i seen when your playing goalie that is huge is, you cannot have your back turned behind the net looking where ball is positioned. A good technique is to have your back to the net (obviously) look at the corner of your eye where the ball is position. It looks like angles could use a decent amount of work, also how deep you play in your net all factors of angles while your in net. I think another thing i seen too that i seen in the comments is have that your stick needs to be down and covering your five hole. Other than that working with maybe raising your arms a little bit and be big in net if that makes any sense?? I hope that helped a little bit.
It looks like ur having the same problem that I had when I started. youre dropping down at the right time, but your not moving your arms to make saves. If you just keep practicing you'll definitely be able to make all the saves and get that shutout!
The guy who shot it in the net through Nashers five-hole at center, here’s what Nasher thought was gonna happen Nasher *In his head: This is gonna be the easiest save ever... Guy: *Gets it in Nasher: 🤭
You did good on your position, I would back up to the goal because you’re getting too far from the crease so I would go closer to the net and block the shots and shift and slide on the one timers
Goal or no goal? 🤔
You be the judge...
The call on the ice is NO GOAL!
No goal
No goal
No goal
That was definitely no goal!
You need to rename this series to be 'The Very Long, Winding, Neverending, Treacherous, Pot-hole Filled, Traffic Jammed, Under Construction Road to a Shutout' 👀
LOVE it !!!!!!!!!!!!
Accurately sums up ohio
Honestly I agree
Bwahahahahahhahaa!!!!! That was funny...

D.j Boogie appreciate it my dude, it’ll only get better from here.
TheNasher61 it’s pretty hard man I play goalie in ball hockey and your not that bad for be new just watch some goalies do the butterfly and just watch how much you challenge or you’ll give them open shots

8:05 it’s on the line, save for sure
Don’t hate on yourself! This early on in the goaltending phase it is expected to let up quite a few goals. I know I did. It takes time and practice.
Sebastian Henderson
Your dropping is good, but you aren't keeping your arms out there much on shots. Only other thing I can think of is to be more aggressive with the stick, most players don't expect a poke check.
You also gotta play lower I think.
Agreed
Yes

Krazy Blitz5 WOW that’s nice
Tip one don’t let a shot in
Tip two get up faster they can get a rebound if they’re fast enough
Tip three find a possession that you like
Tip four don’t go to the butterfly all the time the same thing will happen in tip two
Tip five don’t dive only if you are out of the net
Tip six do more poke checks it has a chance to hit (also you can dive to get the rebound)
This next tip sometimes helps me
Tip seven pretend that you are being watched don’t let the people down
Tip eight don’t be afraid to slide
Tip nine don’t forget the V.H.
Tip ten use your blocker more cause it’s there and you paid all that money for it 10:19 you didn’t use it

"Yoooooooo what's going on guys?"
It just makes my day a little better.
Regarding equipment one thing I could remember was much smaller goalie wheels for my skates. I think 60 mm.

No Goal!! Ball it's on the line!!!!
Nice vídeo!!! greetings from Spain!!
Nasher, you should be proud of yourself this was your first time in goal be proud you did a great job
1. Callange the shooter a little more. The crease looks a little smaller than average so try to stay closer to the top of it. 70% of goaltending is positioning and cutting down the angle as much as possible while still giving yourself a chance to make the save should he pass, which leads me to-
Your aggressiveness is good
When you are going on your knees if you can I noticed that the pads aren’t fully clicking together and that how you let some of the five holes go in but you did really good props to you luv the vid 👍
as playing outside gets hot get a dangler instead of the bib. pads look tight, like they were under rotating a bit try looser on the top 2 calf straps. best advice is keep your chest centered with the ball/puck and hands up and out. look into slide plates as well they help a ton for me
Whats up dude! I figured you are gonna be overwhelmed with comments😂 but one thing I can say is... to Square up with the “puck” and not the player. It will help close those weird holes and when you go into your butterfly drop the glove and blocker to the top of the pillows to close up the underarm. Sure it is leaving the top shelf open but I believe it is easier to raise the arms then lower the arms🤷🏻♂️
I played net as a kid for several years and picked it back up in College and having a blast!!! Keep it up brotha and don’t say the S word before the game (;
Nasher I love your content and such, but I do think it’s funny that you do a beat drop at the beginning for when you tell us to like the video
Hey Nasher your doing great between the pipes. I am a goalie training coach and here’s a tip that may help. Keep your hands in front of your body. It will help you place the ball in your glove or on your blocker. Much love from Canada
I would say to keep a wider base when facing those shots
You can cover more area with your butterfly and you can drop down quicker when you spread your legs out farther
I myself have no tips with only two games under my belt but left elbow in glove up
That was a really good save
I am a goalie,Nasher when u go into the butterfly it is better to squeeze your legs into the center than the outside
You aren’t even putting up your blocker!
Need to watch the rebound
save of the year
NO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL ,WHAT A SAVE AND THE SAVE OF THE YEAR RIGHT THERE!!!
You need to rename this series to be 'The Very Long, Winding, Neverending, Treacherous, Pot-hole Filled, Traffic Jammed, Under Construction Road to a Shutout'
Damn, you make Vesa Toskala look good.
Lol
Bro you lookin like dude perfect stereotypes out there, I don't know how that got through, my bad, the rollerblades are harder that I thought
Still love the videos nasher
“Yeah that’s good!” IT DIDNT EVEN TOUCH THE GOAL LINE!
It went in
Try too keep your stick down angle off the shooter hug the post and break in the glove while your like watching tv have it on and just open and close it or you could throw a ball at the wall and practice catching.
Bring back community top 10
As a dek goalie ive learned to square up to the shoot
the angles and open space you have that i notice from the net cam is to much
U seem to not want the ball to hit u in the chest so u always "push" the ball with ur glove and blocker when its mid aid and that honestly does nothing except rebound, absorb the ball when it hits ur chest and dont be scared
I suggest ordering "sliders" and attach them to ur pad so u can move better side to side especially when your going from post to post cause you're coming completely out of your net to look for the ball once Its in back
Poke check is helpful
Ur aggressive enough when ur in ur key so thats good(gotta say atleast one positive thing)
when a shot goes high on you tend to stick both your arms out front of you instead of reacting to the shot.
Can u save anything blocker side?
Keep your gloves in front of you at all times when they are past the red line so you can track the puck too your blocker and glove
No goal, you saved it your a great goalie Nasher 61 😁
A lot of the time you were either out of position(Most likely the most difficult thing about being a goalie but try to line up your belly button up with the puck it will help you out), sometimes you cant take blame for the goals sometimes it your defense, also when you go in the butterfly your stick goes out to your side leading to your 5 hole being open
I am a goaltender and u r not square in your goal i have some tips for you.
First your positioning is bad so practice it to be more confortable and more faster
Secondly practice your reflexes because all your goals are goals you should stop
Finally you should positioning your hands more in front of you so you could see the ball with your eyes when you stop a shot but you have a great base so keep on working about it and you will be great sorry for my english i am a french fan from
Quebec
Nicolas Audet reliable tips since your from Quebec
@TheNasher61 3 things
I would say scratch the roller blades you were better without them. And then the other 2 are keep your stick on the ice (or ground in this case) and when you go down your arms kinda of go in like your protecting your chest then go back out to try and stop the puck(ball) so try and work on keeping your arms more out to your sides and not your chest.
Get yourself a good goalie Jersey those can help with those between the arm saves. They can help get the ball caught up in the Jersey to make a save
When the ball is coning at him
I'm not exactly the best person to take goalie advice from cuz I haven't actually played the position a lot myself
But maybe try and switch up yr stance to a bit lower and wider which should make going into the butterfly a lot easier and that should help u focus on reacting with yr arms faster to make so nice snags
Love yr vids btw keep it up
As a Defender, I bet I block more shots than you mr. titles his video Goal or no goal, goal is the call
I think your morale def went up after you warmed up. Keep it up, bud.
you didn’t do too shabby bro! just remember to seal your posts and be square with the puck👍🏻
Save of the year and it’s not even the year yet!
I know right!
I remember that Same nhl commentary
I remember that
The guy who shot it in the net through Nashers five-hole at center, here’s what Nasher thought was gonna happen
Nasher *In his head: This is gonna be the easiest save ever...
Guy: *Gets it in
Nasher: 🤭
You are the best hockey player and you tuber ever
Love you nasher
You did good on your position, I would back up to the goal because you’re getting too far from the crease so I would go closer to the net and block the shots and shift and slide on the one timers
Nasher: It didn’t go in!
Other Guy:It went in!
Nasher I’m sorry but it just past the line.
Keep your stick on the ground and stay in your net more. Stay up until the shot goes high
You are the best hockey player ever.
