A good way for me to find exotic ships is to jump from system to system, waiting max 10 min in the spacestation in each system, each system only spawns one exotic max, to me it seems better to just move on after max 10 min, got myself around 20 in just a few days over multiple saves, i have atleast 3 saves where i have 5-6 exotic ships using this method (i have only 1 of those squid ships tho, they seem alot harder to find, most are those royal type 7 exotic ships) buying cheap ships and upgrade to S classes wich is pretty cheap often leads to those exotic ships being 0 units when trading ships, but in general, exotics arent that expensive vykeen systems seems to spawn exotic ships more often then others, i found most there, a few in gek systems, and so far only one in a korvax system ( but thats just my personal findings, might be different for others)
Excelent Vid. I just did the black hole thing thismorning, I started seeing all the same ships in my now well-explored starting region. It worked. I been finding combos I haven't seen in a while. The needle nose fighters and TIE wing stuff especially... they are rare in my usual hunting grounds and all the same. I was so filthy rich, I hadn't scrapped in a while, so I was itching to see some new ships.
I spent three days waiting for a certain design to show up as a S class. I had farmed so many a class ships that I had saved up enough nanite to upgrade the class so I gave up waiting and just upgraded the next a class of that variant that came along. :) Instant max slots too thanks to all the salvage :) I had no idea about wave spawns. I had always thought it was totally random
When you have option to buy ship, you can exchange it for your ship, and then go back and trade again and claim your ship for free. That way you don't spend money, you keep your ship and you have new ship for scrap. It's not a glitch, you just need main ship to be expensive with good storage. I got one time C class for free that cost 70 mil in scrap. Also when you scrap or claim ship back, you can dismantle gear and get some stuff for upgrading your ship or trade.
I caught that "giggidy" after you said 18. Well played sir. Thanks for the content; I just finished my jump into a second galaxy on permadeath so now I'm getting into spoiler territory with game mechanics and this has helped.
You just blew my whole ass mind. I didn't know you could see ship class and stuff through the visor. That should def be in the tutorial. Ps, Love the videos! Keep up the great work
I was doing the quest for the living ship that I saw a gorgeous green starsquid 🐙. I don't even think it was a 3 star system. Obviously I bought it immediately 😏
For me, the best thing about NMS is there is no "RIGHT" way to play it. I can spend a whole session building and tweaking on day/ The next day, I can play convoy escort amd defend freighters or I can be the pirate. Then there's exploration. Then there's all free updates and new content. I'd love to play it in VR but that's a little outside my pocket book.
I found the blackhole but never traveled near it. I wasn't aware you could fly through it. Cool. I never could get the free ship. I tried a few times, follows all the tutorials but I always had to pay.
Looks like my first freighter before the reset. So glad I seen this video because I've refrained from getting a new freighter because I was concerned I'd lose my layout.
Freighter fairy doesn't work after the latest freighter update. If you customize the freighter interior with the newest all-in-one rooms, if you buy a new freighter, you have to completely rebuild the interior all over again. Maybe HG will fix this to make this work again, but right now it does not work.
If you leave stuff in your freighter inventory it will trigger the question to ask if you want to keep your base when you trade. It does need to be properly patched though.
Thanks for this; made some nanites and acquired some much needed upgrade modules! I also love the white, long nose fighter! I've been eyeing one in a Blue/yellow combo but this one is prettier, IMO. Bob should stop referring to Bob in the third person...AAAAAAAHHHHHH! :D
I have better luck finding exotics in 1 and 2 star systems than in 3 star systems, I believe that is because in a 3 star system it is more likely that when the RNG rolls to spawn a S-class it has more types of ships to choose from that can be an S-class in that system, where as in a lower star system when the RNG rolls for an S class spawn it is more likely to be that systems exotic. So if you are in a system that has a first spawn S-class it is more likely to be an exotic than one of the other ships in that system. It just my theory, based on observation.
I know this is an old video but that mosquito exotic you buy and scrap is almost exactly a blue recolor of the first exotic I bought (red mosquito “The Father of Truth”) in the third system I ever visited.
at around 10:30 you ask "now where is our trade post" while panning left. and there it is on the bowttom right, slightly hidden by the crashed freighter. i just had to point that out
You can exchange for current ship, then claim your ship back for free then scrap the ship. You then make a profit in units and nanites. I suggest you have at most 4 ships owned when doing this so you don't lose your ship or miss a chance to scrap a good ship.
Bob, black holes ALWAYS take you closer to the galaxy centre by varying degrees but simultaneously take you to the a far location. I managed to reach the centre faster using black holes, and then when I was at the centre I saved glyphs for a planet near centre, went into the centre found a portal in the new galaxy and entered the glyphs from the near center planet in previous galaxy and then thats how I skip galaxies because SCREW doing that 255 times when each galaxy would take longer than a life time to explore anyway.
I’d herad other wise on taking you closer every time, but confess I didn’t do much testing. You can also just enter their first glyph 12 times into the Portal and get within 5k light years. I did a start from scratch to the center livestream in under two hours this way.
@@SurvivalBobGaming Huh didnt know about the glyph thing. But yeah no they really do take you always minimum 5kly closer relative to your last position if you check where how far you were from centre before or after. Some times if you are lucky you can find super black holes that take you a LOT closer to centre in a single jump. Infact when you get too close to centre the black holes stop working all together.
@SurvivalBob I’m new to the game and having trouble with the amidst the stars quest. I was able to put down my first signal booster then I had to log off, when I logged back on I no longer have the prompt icons. I’m having trouble finding an answer besides restarting. Do you have any tips? Thanks man loving the videos.
@32:52 is the glyph timestamp for the station, although the entire video is worth watching. I saw lots of random tips here; I am probably going to need to re-watch a few times to get them all.
If you have a ship with maxed out slots (48+21) then you can buy ships for free. Maxed out ship has a trade in price over $100,000,000. When you trade ships with the NPC, the trade price will be free for ANY ship, even big expensive haulers. After you trade the NPC will disappear and reappear next to your old ship. Run over to that NPC and you can claim the old ship back for free. You get the new ship 100% free. You can make tons of units by scrapping in a 3 star gek system (lots of high-end haulers) you actually want the opposite of normal scrapping... and if you want more nanites do it in a 1st wave exotic system.
You have to ask for black holes? If I'm not mistaking completing one of the main quest lines allows you to see those systems. The atlas seeds one I think, it's been so long since I've done that. (My main save is 300+ hours)
Recent update bumped ship prices by a lot and also removed oxygen from trade terminals to slow down oxygen assisted element creation. Also changed the way the inventory works (and put it on one page).
A neat trick for trade posts is to land on the ground next to the landing pads (think Bob actually covered this in a previous episode). This allows 1 extra ship to land per wave. Thanks to the previous video on nanite farming with ship scrapping that has been my go to method. It's sooo much more valuable than just the nanites and honestly a load of fun! I can easily while away a few hours with it feeling like a few minutes doing it... The only problem is trying to stop! It's very addictive 🤣
when buying a ship, you can exchange it for free if your ship is more expensive than theirs then you can run back to your old ship to reclaim it for free, then you can switch back to the new ship and scrap it without having to spend any money, thats free scraps and free upgrade modules, all you gotta do is make sure yours costs more than theirs, its a easy way to make alot of money and get free ships and nanites
A random piece of technology will always get damaged on your ship when you go through a black hole. I always use my worst ship to go through black holes.
Got a distress signal, went to the location & there was a damaged S class ship that's the exact same you have, well you all know what they say. *It's free real estate*
I wish they had Missions specific for each class of ship. I would love to Taxi some Gek to another planet with a shuttle , or be hired as a merc with the fighter class ships.
When you're doing this stuff do you need to be on single player or can you still do it in multiplayer? Like does reloading the save still reset the iteration of the space station if you are in multiplayer? I just started playing this game a few days ago, so I'm still trying to learn
I loaded this game up for the first time and spent 4 straight hours playing this game and I’m ngl it’s weirdly addictive like u will be playing then something will catch ur attention then u will being doing that then something else will catch ur attention and so on and so on it’s just weirdly intriguing if that makes sense idk I like it will most likely play this again
Looking back at this, I’m just now realizing Bob took everyone’s ship and poor folks out there stuck in the Space station with no ship and tons of money lol
When I scrap them i want the 5 mil ships.... Luv the 3 x 3 exotics, I actually save a base in those 3 x 3 scrapping systems to return to when I need modules....
I like looking at the exotics, but I wouldn't want to fly one. None of the models I see look like my type of ship. I'm a former long time Eve: Online player and my #1 ship would be a white and red halo. Brings back the memories of my Astero. I miss that ship. Lol
A dealer landed next to me while I was picking up salvaged data on planet when I wasn’t recording. You can buy them from those npcs. The stats suck, so I’ll replace it with an S soon.
When you reload a save are you keeping all the loot you got from scrapping ships? Seems odd to me since the save is supposed to bring you back to before you salvaged ? Or is that not how it works here ?
Yes. You create a save point by jumping in and out of the the ship. Reloading just resets everything. Although now the game auto saves so you have to make sure to reload the last manual save.
@@SurvivalBobGaming got it. But then what’s the point of salvaging a ship then reloading the save and doing it again if you now lost your profits from the first salvage? Like you did in the video. Or is the point to do that in case you’re not happy with the spoils and want to reset and try again?
You basically buying the upgrades that you can sell for nanites. It’s all about getting upgrades to sell for nanites. This was a few years ago. There are much easier ways now.

Just found a trick, if you use the planetary chart it will search for abadoned buidings crashed Freighters etc.. do the scan but do not go to those ones, but keep doing it until you find a distress signal for a downed ship just go get it salvage it, but if you do the chart again because there are still the abandoned buildings etc that you havent visiter you can keep doing the chart if it says there is already a building it doesnt use up the chart. try the chart again and you can find one distress beacons on ships all the time it doesnt stop the help a stranded lifeform distress call
or you can do it with the other places the planetary charts think it would also work for manufacturing facilities or other places not checked those yet

I had no idea about wave spawns. I had always thought it was totally random
Good to know the freighter transfer is so easy. I've been avoiding it coz I didn't want to rebuild
OMG I am so stupid was scrapping my ship upgrades instead of selling. So many nanites wasted! Thanks for the great video.
same here lol
I didn’t know half this stuff, awesome video and really informative Bob. Duly subscribed
NMS God: *hits blunt* ... paint that planet pearlescent.
😂
Theoretically you can use relic gates instead. It doesn't have a risk of damaging tech, only issue is consistently finding them
I caught that "giggidy" after you said 18.
Keep up the great work
Me too. Game changer :)

I wish there was a way to hire cool aliens as crewmates, just to give us another thing we can hunt for.
Seriously, I'd love to have a capital ship crewed by Travelers.
Hill air eee usss! First time on. Subbed and liked. Great run through!
I found the blackhole but never traveled near it. I wasn't aware you could fly through it. Cool.
I never could get the free ship. I tried a few times, follows all the tutorials but I always had to pay.
that freighter you ran into when you came out of the black hole looks like an acclamator-class assault ship from star wars lol
11:05 "we've got a crashed freighter..." and a trading post directly beside it. lol.
Love how you just walked in the freighter and start roasting the crew😂😂😂🙌🏽💀
this game has aged well, new contents & updates are very welcome 👍
I'm just glad you respect how rare these squids are only a 3% chance of one Spawning in game with out using a portal jump
I finally found the perfect one. It even spawned in my colors. I feel like the luckiest boi in the universe
I know this is an old video but that mosquito exotic you buy and scrap is almost exactly a blue recolor of the first exotic I bought (red mosquito “The Father of Truth”) in the third system I ever visited.
No idea if you notice if you build a trade terminal on your freighter, some system sell a whopping of 95 pieces of drop pod coordinates.
Best no mans sky channel for sure
at around 10:30 you ask "now where is our trade post" while panning left. and there it is on the bowttom right, slightly hidden by the crashed freighter. i just had to point that out
I saw that immediately as well. Sometimes you get focused on the goal and miss things around you.
The S-class asymmetric T3 Explorer at about 41:50 had a base hyperdrive percentage of 179, which is really, really good.
Wow! Great catch!
You can exchange for current ship, then claim your ship back for free then scrap the ship. You then make a profit in units and nanites. I suggest you have at most 4 ships owned when doing this so you don't lose your ship or miss a chance to scrap a good ship.
I don’t glitch or play creative mode.
I wish those tail exotic ships were horizontal instead of vertical, would look like the dark elves ships from Thor: The Dark World
One thing I like to do is lay down some atmosphere extractors underneath the trade post while i wait for exotics.
Good idea!
The atmosphere looked different than the ground itself because the planets atmosphere reflects green stronger than the ground reflects purple
Thanks, was looking for better ships! 👍
I had no idea that could transfer everything right then and there on the comparison menu between both ships. I'm glad I watched this video
I know you make a grip of videos but don't stop k cause your all I watch at work lol 😆
Great video. I learned a lot.
Thanks! Glad it helped!
Yeah. That’s right. The Atlas path will show them too. It’s quicker to just ask Polo though if you just need one.
Has the price of ships gone up since this video was released? I followed this guide and the only ships that were in the ~3mil range were C class.
Recent update bumped ship prices by a lot and also removed oxygen from trade terminals to slow down oxygen assisted element creation. Also changed the way the inventory works (and put it on one page).
27:34 glad you feel the same way 😂
Play through the game several times and you will aquire your own style of upgrading. The name of the game. Why i like it.
It's very addictive 🤣
its about time they made it so you can build your own ships in some way or custom them more
when buying a ship, you can exchange it for free if your ship is more expensive than theirs then you can run back to your old ship to reclaim it for free, then you can switch back to the new ship and scrap it without having to spend any money, thats free scraps and free upgrade modules, all you gotta do is make sure yours costs more than theirs, its a easy way to make alot of money and get free ships and nanites
A random piece of technology will always get damaged on your ship when you go through a black hole. I always use my worst ship to go through black holes.
How did you that jetpack is that a mod or just like sum you buy with quicksilver
past expedition reward.
@@SurvivalBobGaming dang so theres no way to get it now? I'm in then process of doing the 3rd expedition
Not without save editor
I heard about your channel from Jason plays and I'm glad that I found it you got some banger videos
Thanks!
Got a distress signal, went to the location & there was a damaged S class ship that's the exact same you have, well you all know what they say.
*It's free real estate*
Same happened to me 🤣
Portal symbols are at 32:50 in the video for people who are wondering
I wish they had Missions specific for each class of ship. I would love to Taxi some Gek to another planet with a shuttle , or be hired as a merc with the fighter class ships.
When you're doing this stuff do you need to be on single player or can you still do it in multiplayer? Like does reloading the save still reset the iteration of the space station if you are in multiplayer? I just started playing this game a few days ago, so I'm still trying to learn
It’s better to be in single player. It doesn’t reload the instance every time if there are other players around.
i know its been a year but any chance i could get the cords for the all white fighter
27:45 that was my first S-class ship 😭
Cause it was so cheap, I could only afford it at that time
scraping parts off ships then scrapping the ship will make the ship a lot cheaper on the scrap return?
atmosphere color effects everything
I loaded this game up for the first time and spent 4 straight hours playing this game and I’m ngl it’s weirdly addictive like u will be playing then something will catch ur attention then u will being doing that then something else will catch ur attention and so on and so on it’s just weirdly intriguing if that makes sense idk I like it will most likely play this again
I just let my ADD run wild in this game...Oh, look over there...3 hours later, now what was I doing?
Looking back at this, I’m just now realizing Bob took everyone’s ship and poor folks out there stuck in the Space station with no ship and tons of money lol
I'm like 95% sure you flew over a trade post at 11:04. I think that may be one next to the crashed freighter
Probably
When I scrap them i want the 5 mil ships.... Luv the 3 x 3 exotics, I actually save a base in those 3 x 3 scrapping systems to return to when I need modules....
What is the fast ship that u can get in no man sky I have one that goes 22232 us just wanted to know I am new to no man sky and looking for a lil help
Anyone else see the trading post at 11:04 just to the left of that crashed freighter?
There is so much to this game! I have just spent most of my time mining carbon and ferrite. Have missed out on most of this stuff.
Get some big money and start buying basic materials
what does first or second wave mean? You use the term frequently... and what is the advantage?
The first wave of ships to spawn in a system is usually the same every time. It’s the first 12 ships that spawn.
Hello survival bob i was wondering what ship you were using? I love the Design but can’t find the name.
I like looking at the exotics, but I wouldn't want to fly one. None of the models I see look like my type of ship. I'm a former long time Eve: Online player and my #1 ship would be a white and red halo. Brings back the memories of my Astero. I miss that ship. Lol
Did I miss when you obtained a few X class mods in previous videos? How did you grab those?
@@SurvivalBobGaming thanks - I just discovered this game on PSVR 2 and it’s mind-blowing. You should try it in PSVR2 if you can - would love to see a video from you as there aren’t any out there rn! Thanks again for replying and making this great content :)
Only 8 stacks of 80 stored, plus 80 already activated all done legit ;) erm i think i have a problem
