How medal event is judged:
1 heat of 16 athletes competing with two :45 second runs each. Best run counts, scored 1-100. If an athlete falls during their run, the clock buzzer will sound and the run is over. Top 8 athletes from the elimination will advance to the final. Judges will score competitors throughout the contest.

The girls are at a level now that is very pleasing to watch. Impressive stuff, they've improved like crazy the last couple of years.

It's nuts. In a way I can enjoy it more than the guys. Easier to follow the rotations, more chance for style. But the level is just insane. Honestly ten years ago I would never have believed women snowboarders could be this good. Ten or fifteen years ago I could actually try to match women in the jumps, not I'm not even in the same universe as them.

Love how the ladies do 50s more often than the men who I saw a lot more boards and lips from. For me, the 50/50 is my favorite rail trick, especially those 50/50 pivots those are incredibly rad to watch and they are so, SO hard. Getting lined up with a boardslide is much easier and much easier to stay on the rail horizontally but harder vertically. 50 is the opposite, hard to get on the rail and hard to stay on vertically, easy horizontally.
