So because this is the only documented install of this and it helped me with mine, I thought I would add some of my notes. I have the 1100SP kit and I have a 2018 WT. The rear shackles need to be oriented so that the larger opening is up toward the frame. The kit doesn't want you to cut the front leaf bolts because its close to the gas tank, but they include the bolts and if you're careful it's fine. Buy a bunch of good quality reciprocating saw blades. For the front, I didn't have to drop the spindle or anything, the strut came right out after removing the sway bar end links and loosening the bushing brackets, and removing the top bolts (18mm ratcheting wrench, just buy it), and the big bottom bolt. To get the bottom spring seat off of the original strut, I put a bolt through the eye end of the strut and clamped the body of the strut in a vise so that bolt I just installed holds the shock from sliding out. Use a block of wood and a big hammer and a few swings will pop the bottom spring perch off. Don't forget to reinstall the rubber bushing on the seat when reassembling the new strut. To install the front bump stop, you will probably have to make a tool to fit inside the perch that it sits in to get the nut tightened. I sanded down an old ikea wrench (they're great for that stuff) and it fit inside the small hole in the perch. Have a can of black paint handy so you can just touch up all of the areas that get nicked while installing the new struts.
What if you're not trying to lower the rear a full 4 inches? Do you think you could make that work with longer you bolts and a spacer sitting in between the leaf springs and rear axle?
@@joshuaborem7063 is the Belltech 3/4” drop not an option? I know it’s still on the market. I also have a 22 Colorado LT and I’m strongly considering it, even whilst still under warranty. I was hoping to get some opinions about it :/
Thanks for this, I think this is the only good resource out there right now to see how this kit installs. I thought only the diesels needed the exhaust to be cut but I could be wrong. And this video shows a 3" front drop? Did you measure the wheel gap or fender height with that setting?
No, no lights or issues after installing. I put this one a year or two ago so my memory isn’t perfect. *IF* there was any lights that came on, they went away in the first drive cycle. Likely because something was disconnected. If you’re getting these lights and they’re staying on, likely a sensor got bumped/damaged or accidentally disconnected
So im planning on purchasing this same kit, I recently bought my first ever vehicle which i love the new body colorados and I finally got it two years ago brand new and ive been searching for lowering kits and couldnt find one and nobody out there really had vids of how they got lowering kits only lift and i wanted to see how that belltech lowering kit worked and how it drives, so my question is how it rides because i really want to lower my truck, ive been debating on what to get my truck and i think i might just get this kit now lol.
I did not show it but the kit came with steel rings that works as spacers. They go at the bottom of the spring cup that slides onto the struts. The rings are approx 1/2” and you add or subtract them to adjust the height to your preference.

Does your stepdad still have the truck? What wheels did he go with? Give us a update I have the same generation Colorado 2020

Looks great and it makes it safer to drive since your center of gravity is lower and the blind spot over the hood is reduced.
Everyone sleeping on these little trucks🔥🔥
Sick looking to get a Colorado and dropping it !!
Lol im doing this is soon as i get home bro so happy im seeing this
💪💪 hope it helps!

Damn, nvm... that would just make it even lower wouldn't it lol
If I remember correctly, the rear height wasn’t adjustable. Front is adjustable
Can you do a video on how you installed the front bump stops
I sanded down a small wrench from ikea to fit inside the perch. It's very tight.
Did you replace the springs? I found the belltech kit but i dont see springs in the kit.
Alignment needed after?
You use your factory springs. Also, I got an alignment after I got the kit installed on my 19' Canyon.
@@eddierodarte608 alignment is always necessary when doing any suspension work. And you re use the factory front coil springs
I just bought a 2022 Colorado today and I’m already looking to lower it :)
Did you do it 😄
@@EVWRZ89 no. I searched for lowering kits off and on for about a year before I gave up.

@@EVWRZ89 I don’t know sorry. I haven’t checked on it in more than a year.
Did it scape on the finder walls with the stock wheels

No they all need the exhaust cut for the drop shackle per kit instructions.
Yes a 3” drop.
I did not measure.
Clever name btw 🤙
did the mpg improve?
Leave the original rear hanger on and it will give a little more drop in the back to level it out and the exhaust wouldn't need cutting.
If I put 22 inch rims and tires will I need a level kit or drop kit to make it look rite
Not sure. It will mostly matter if the outside tire diameter is bigger or not
Are the tires the stock size 265 70R?
I have a question, when u installed the kit did ur abs light come on and traction control. And did ur screen say service stabilitrack?

thanks for the video and how to install looks like I'll need a lift in order to do the install.. where are you from bro? pay you to do my 2020?
Does anyone know how to lower the rear 2 inches to make it level with stock front?
One option is to De-arch the springs 2", remove the second shortest leaf or add a 2" lowering block
What wheels did your stepdad get? 🤔
What color is that?

Looks good. Nice job! Good video
Both your links don’t work bro..
awesome video, around how much would a shop charge do a drop like this (excluding the cost of the kit ) ?
Hard to say. Couple hundreds dollars maybe
All depends on the shop, not everyone charges the same hourly rate.
What's the ride quality like after lowering?
Great
Would the same kit fit a 2021? Just checking
I think but i really don’t know for sure.
They aren’t much different but they make a kit for the 2021’s. Ordered one for mine a few days ago. 1100SP is the part number
HEY DO THE OWNER HAS A IG?
lol I see you got our truck we make 💪🏾😂😂😂
Yessuh!!
awesome
Imagine this on a 2.8 diesel Colorado
That's what I'm thinking of doing on my 2.8
I bought a colorado used and its got this stupid fucking lowering kit. Im trying to take it off.
Waste of time! They don't shoe the most important point where mounting lead springs back correctly.
