Day 13: Scenic Ride from Laufenburg to Reims | Country Roads & Self-Care on Can-Am Ryker | Camping

Join me on Day 13 of our European tour as I leave Laufenburg in Germany and head towards Reims in France. How far will I get? I start with my TomTom Rider 550 set to avoid motorways and tolls, but soon switch to more adventurous country roads. This journey is about balancing happiness and suffering with self-care stops, scenic views, and unexpected detours.
🌍 Highlights of This Episode:
Setting Off: Leaving Laufenburg and heading towards Reims.
Self-Care Journey: Taking hourly stops and eating well, starting with breakfast at Bakerei Cafe in Binzen.
Scenic Routes: Enjoy sweeping bends and green fields around Bellevue and beautiful houses of Folgensbourg.
National Forest: Ride through Werentzhouse, admiring old and new buildings.
Wildlife Spotting: See storks nesting on a telegraph pole in Steppius Le Bas.
Historical Stops: Visit the memorial to the 25th Medical Battalion at Rechesey and the Monument Corporal Jules André Peugeot.
Switching Routes: After 39 miles on a straight road, reset TomTom for winding paths, passing through towns with old buildings and Juliette balconies.
Country Adventures: Navigate narrow bridges and country roads, encountering road works and closures.
Medieval Charm: Fall in love with Fontenoy-le-Château's street lamps, old buildings, and cobbled roads.
Camping Spot: Find a charming campsite at Camping Fontenoy using Pitchup.com.
