Hi, I'm arrow, the creator of gm_mines, thank you so much for playing my map! You did a great job exploring the map while also providing some valuable feedback which I would've loved back then :D. For context, yeah, I was only 14 years old when I released the map, probably 13 years old when making it, so the map somehow corresponds to that. Most of the time, I had really no idea what I was doing because I had no plan. I was just making the rooms as I went and purely from my own imagination. That's why lot of the rooms feel empty, because I was deciding their purpose on the fly, which kind of reveals that some of them make no sense (for example, the "observation" sign was put there merely for the simple fact that it has water on it. I believe I had no clue what the word "observation" event meant back then). As I was still learning how to create a map properly, you'll see lots of beginner errors, like the stairs clipping, the stair height, ladders everywhere etc. or even "borrowed" assets, like the chimney - it is from the beginning of Half-Life 2, from the very first map. Despite all of this, I still think it is a pretty cool map. You are correct in that I tried to make it more focused on exploration, because I wanted my maps to have a "story" of sorts, I wanted them to feel more like you're playing a game rather than just loading a map. That's why I later shifted my focus to gamemodes and later made Basebuild, my biggest project. So thanks again to everyone who played this map!
I'm so happy to see that you're still creating things all these years later! Too many people lose their passion and drive over the years and just give up on doing what they love for one reason or another. Too busy, mental health decline, demotivated by low ratings, you name it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, even though I'm just some stranger on the Internet, I'm super proud of you, and I'm glad you didn't give up! Keep being creative!
@@CaptainEnby Thanks! Though I don't have as much time now, I still like to return to mapping once in a while. Moreover, I can't wait for S&Box so that we can finally start doing some Source 2 maps :D
It feels like this was never meant to be a factory or caves, but feels like it was meant for someone to be dropped here while an other worldly creature chases them. It’s just so… maze like.
Okay mine nerd here, this mine isn't that accurate but in the mine section i saw. the large area where its all open those are called stopes. that big drop cobbled at 14 minutes in that is a winze. for passing ore or it is a shaft but i saw nothing above it. there is also the drifts which are the tunnels. the big metal cage thing is WAY to big which is the main shaft the place also appears to not be actually a mine the area then by using this shaft. is leading to a lower level. the mine is unrealistic because irl those shaft cages would be like 3 by 3 feet wide and a metal cage which would be more interesting. but i will cut it some slack for being made by a 14 year old. anyways amazing video as ever.
A very fascinating map! Questions and mysteries around every corner..... Honestly the map itself could serve as a writing prompt - a story where some hiker or influencer explores this abandoned mine, slowly uncovering the clues of what nefarious acts used to happen, what was covered up, eventually finding and perhaps releasing the monster the facility strived to keep under wraps..... yknow those kinda vibes!
Jesus, good thing I'm always prepared for jumpscares from this channel because you just jumpscared me with that double upload. Even on my recommended page I'm not safe...
I often find myself waking up in the middle of the night and hey imagine drinking BEER with a damn straw .... Anyway, just to find out that the video I was looking ended and TH-cam automatically played the next one
Oh Mr. Librarian... what possible reason could you have for not having an LP of Control?? It seems like it's more than perfect for your established vibe. You even have Alan Wake 2, but not Control? Color me 100% baffled. That game would be perfect for your channel.
Im already reminded of gm Russia with the dead body its the same body as the body that fell down the Hole into the Cave Sewer Place and the doors started Getting Slammed on Rlly Creeped out already i ❤ your videos
theres a gm.born map for you to check, but.. very weird stuff of people dying? idk i was just there but i saw dead body and blood, im telling you this is very strange, explore it for me, i need informations about what happend there...
You can always tell when a map is made by a very young person, the layouts and textures make very little sense, in here it seems like the mine idea was somehow usurped by some sort of underground powerplant or something.
Please play Sky Children of Light. It's a beautiful game with lot's to explore. I've been playing it for years and I'm still finding new areas to explore. Partly because they keep adding new areas.
I want to make a "Minor" pun, but my inner grammar nerd is yelling at me for not spelling it "Miner". So I'm not gonna dig too hard for one.
nice.
Don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s only a *minor* spelling error.
Boo!
Nice
ok that fine. Don’t wanna cause a mental collapse.
The kids yearn for the mines
"if there werent mines for the kids to go to WHAT ELSE would they do hmmmm?? smoke cigarretes?"
ROCK AND STONE BROTHA
Dig I would find it fun if I was a kid it's like Minecraft

You did a great job for making a map on the fly, could only imagine your map making skills now.

Almost like it was built for people to be dropped there lol

I would love to see you exploring some Counter Strike Source maps on GMod. They are really creepy when you aren't fighting for your life.
Gmod exploration maps are my favorite type of videos. Thank you for uploading, Librarian
12:25 Yes
the observer has observed
the movie night swim is a pretty good take on almost exactly what you talk about at 7:50

Double uploads are wild
Woah, yeah! 2 within an hour of eachother, we're getting spoiled with Librarian content!
i honestly would have never expected librarian to ever play this map i remember spending alot of time on it long ago
Immediately recognized this the second the video started, I’m glad to see it again
We getting spoiled today
The ambience on the surface makes me feel hot and sticky with the humidity that I usually feel when I hear that amount if chirping when I played.
Jesus, good thing I'm always prepared for jumpscares from this channel because you just jumpscared me with that double upload. Even on my recommended page I'm not safe...
yay, a new librarian video to fall asleep to! i love it, ✨✨

Your video style is always fun to watch
At some point someone’s gonna have to make an underwater librarian sounds compilation

The sound of the wind flowing through could be a sound effect from Resident Evil 2 (Original)
Yeah man you might be right
@@FatherMcKenzie66 that's what happens when I'm obsessed with Resident Evil. I literally recognize sound effects 😂
@@midnightdimensions13 hahaha man same happens to me, but with half life
CLIP YOUR DAMN STAIRS
Nice default hammer texture
Gm_Nullspace is a good map with secrets to find. Very odd but serene in a chaotic way.
Love the videos my first was the liminal hotel, the 1st one.
Liberian, you should really play ‘KinioPet’ next! It’s a great physiological horror game! You’re gonna love it
Im already reminded of gm Russia with the dead body its the same body as the body that fell down the Hole into the Cave Sewer Place and the doors started Getting Slammed on Rlly Creeped out already i ❤ your videos
To be honest I don't think the map maker really had any idea of what they were doing. Pretty easy to tell when you step back and look at all of it.
7:20 Geez, that's a creepy image. For some reason, nothing sets off my inner submechanophobia like seeing pipes underwater.
Finally some good content on TH-cam today
omg, g-man, hai!
Can you make a part 3 of b3313?
theres a gm.born map for you to check, but.. very weird stuff of people dying? idk i was just there but i saw dead body and blood, im telling you this is very strange, explore it for me, i need informations about what happend there...
A little more mine needed in these mines lol. A well made map all the same though.
Yooo this was the map i suggested
another amazing video :D

The design of this map is really... weird.
