funny how everything was ally, rainbows and flowers when talking about gays on tv until the gays are sitting right in front of you and are a part of your family. the parents reaction made me furious ngl but I'm so proud of gene and nubsib admitting that they're in a relationship in front of them bc they're tired of hiding. we can see how much gene has developed even being able to find the courage to bravely say who he really is and sib is always with him helping him and being his anchor, i love them. also, i adore that their brothers were supporting them since day one, we all need that kind of brothers!!

The dinner scene is definitely on my top ten most anxiety inducing moments within a series list. I kept pausing and taking deep breaths. Hats off to the cast, crew, and director.
Coming out is not easy. When i first come out to my friend i was shaking in a verge of crying even tho i knew she will support me but it still felt so hard to just say it. They’re so brave to say to their family like that.
the first time i ever came out was to my friends, they were joking like "what if (my name) likes girls???" i was i like "what if i am 😶" they were rly supportive tho
I'm not the one who coming out but i have a friend who always tells about her girl crush as in a joking manner and then she actually fell hard this time and she coming out to us that she's gay (in our friend circle, there is indeed one who is quite religious and another one is straight as ruler. And then there's me and another one who is half closet non-binary and aroace) and we're like "well we all know that but thanks for telling us" , I'm actually quite intrigue that they doesn't think or care much about it even tho ik they prob gonna be supportive about it lol. My friend persona seems like she doesn't care much about what people thinks about her sexuality and quite dare and open but when she tells us she's gay, she seems really relieved after that. It's quite nice to see tho Dunno just felt wanna tell it lol don't ask me why i wrote this XD
it is real. Everyone agrees and they like gays until a family member or son is, because for them it is fine as long as it does not happen to them, this series is showing reality in such a clean and clear way that it surprises me, at the same time it is a An example to follow in realizations, communication and consensus are the first words that come to mind if you mention a healthy relationship, and Gene and Sib are the pure example of how safe, accompanied and understood our partner should make u feel.

My mom is bi and whenever she had a girlfriend (my parents are divorced), my family would call her 'a friend' and not invite her to certain things. I love my family (they've really done so much for us) but they can also be really cruel. I'm not sure if it's because they are so old fashioned but... I cannot forget the amount of times they've made my mom cry.

I love how Nubsib makes clear to Gene that he won’t force him to come out. I’ve seen it happen in other bls that one will pressure the other to come out to their parents and it’s pretty sad to see. Coming out is something that should be taken at the persons own pace and even your partner shouldn’t force it (discussing it is good but pressurising is a nah cause there are legit reasons why people don’t come out)
I still haven’t come out to my parents, even though I don't really have a reason to be in the closet. I know my parents are both very progressive and have even been to pride events and support LGBTQ+ rights, even back in the days when it wasn’t as common. I even remember my dad making a comment when I was like 8 about my "future boyfriend" then he just kind of paused, looked at me and added "or girlfriend" before continuing as if it was nothing. I know that if I come out the reaction would just be a "ok. Now we know" type situation, but I still can’t get myself to do it. I can't imagine what it must be like having parents who wouldn’t be as supportive. How terrifying coming out must be. For me, I'm just nervous. But for others, it must be the most terrifying thing ever.

I love the contrast between 'Bad Engineer' the BL and 'Lovely Writer' they are as different as can be. I think they did a great job of highlighting the toxic behaviours then showing how to do it right instead with the actor's 'real lives'. The difference between Kin and Sib is huge
Gene's father was brave enough to go there. When Gene and Sib responded with honesty. He couldn't handle it. I am happy that this series showed this in this way. As a parent, you teach your children to be honest and tell the truth, yet when your child tells you his/her/their truth, you respond as though this is not your child. Sometimes the adults are the ones who need to grow up! It's not about you!
Nah, don't be too much at firing your anger towards the parents. Changing someone pov is really difficult, esp. when they had it since decades ago. You want people understand you, try to understand them first.
The guy playing Aoey fits the character. His combines vulnerability and toxicity perfectly. I don’t know how he does it and hope to see more of his acting.
This is hands down the most real, serious coming out scene ever. The tension was so real. The acting was so on point. The way they sat so uncomfortably, the clenching of their jaws. The way that Gene looked like he was trembling and at the same time so so focused. The loving looks Sib gave him. I bet this scene flies under the radar, but it was probably one the best acted, most dramatic, moment in BL history.
I know you commented this a year ago but I wanted to point out how realistic this dinner scene was because all the other Bl's I've watched the parents were so accepting but most of the time that's not thee case. This show is so good at pointing out the problems in society and how consent is very important.

I was literally thinking that! The brothers seem fairly close as well so I was like “haha wouldn’t it be funny if both sons were in relationships?” The best twist of the series if that was true
The dinner scene was amazing. The way the father kept looking at them because he knew something was up. The way everyone felt the tension but tried to save the peace. The few seconds of calm where it felt like the family would be accepting and it was quickly passed as a joke. It captured coming out really well. And the courage it took Gene and Sib immediately supporting Gene’s decision and how he expressed how he felt in order to give Gene enough set up to express himself. ☠️ Amazing!
I'm so glad gene's mom is doing everything to keep the atmosphere less tense and making things much easier for them before having to explain. She's knowingly or unknowingly putting this image in everyone's mind beforehand so it wouldn't be too alarming or strange when mentioned out of the blue.
Honestly Gene and Sib are so adorable together. The way Nubsib held Genes' hand after they confessed to their families. Another thing is that their family need to learn how to respect them 👏. *cough*:definitely not aiming this at Genes Father..👀
This series is really unique and not your cliché bl serie. Well the story is of course rather interesting but it also focuses on the real life problems that lgbtq people have or how the society makes it difficult for them. I love everything about it.

Sib said that Gene didn't have to worry because he would be by his side and then he hold Gene's hand to give him comfort and strength 😍

I knew he didn't spike that drink. 👏 But omg, boy, YOU ARE BREAKING MY HEART AOEY. I had zero expectations of liking him as a character but the actor is just killing it. Aoey is so weirdly endearing and earnest that you catch glimpses of a genuinely sweet personality but then he sabotages it with being overly (falsely?) confident/toxic. All the years of abuse from his family(dad) has really impacted him. He's had to learn to try and love himself despite all the ugliness he's faced from his dad. But then that confidence and love for himself is also being self sabotaged bc he just does not know how to balance that out with the selfishness in a lot of these situations. Mad respect to the actor for really bringing this character to life.
The parents are such good actors. Consider that they appear genuinely confused or resistant in the show, yet they took on roles BL series. Special mention to Gene's dad.
That dinner scene was hell, I was in so much tension I could barely breath! I'm so happy they support each other like that, they really have one of the healthiest relationships I've ever seen. The way they had a whole conversation whithout saying anything, just by holding hands, not once, but twice this episode, was beautiful. 💞 And I really hope the brothers keep helping them, their support is very important for Gene and Sib.

This is hands down the most real, serious coming out scene ever. The tension was so real. The acting was so on point. The way they sat so uncomfortably, the clenching of their jaws. The way that Gene looked like he was trembling and at the same time so so focused. The loving looks Sib gave him. I bet this scene flies under the radar, but it was probably one the best acted, most dramatic, moment in BL history.
I know you commented this a year ago but I wanted to point out how realistic this dinner scene was because all the other Bl's I've watched the parents were so accepting but most of the time that's not thee case. This show is so good at pointing out the problems in society and how consent is very important.

The dinner scene was amazing. The way the father kept looking at them because he knew something was up. The way everyone felt the tension but tried to save the peace. The few seconds of calm where it felt like the family would be accepting and it was quickly passed as a joke. It captured coming out really well. And the courage it took Gene and Sib immediately supporting Gene’s decision and how he expressed how he felt in order to give Gene enough set up to express himself. ☠️ Amazing!

This series is really unique and not your cliché bl serie. Well the story is of course rather interesting but it also focuses on the real life problems that lgbtq people have or how the society makes it difficult for them. I love everything about it.

I knew he didn't spike that drink. 👏 But omg, boy, YOU ARE BREAKING MY HEART AOEY. I had zero expectations of liking him as a character but the actor is just killing it. Aoey is so weirdly endearing and earnest that you catch glimpses of a genuinely sweet personality but then he sabotages it with being overly (falsely?) confident/toxic. All the years of abuse from his family(dad) has really impacted him. He's had to learn to try and love himself despite all the ugliness he's faced from his dad. But then that confidence and love for himself is also being self sabotaged bc he just does not know how to balance that out with the selfishness in a lot of these situations. Mad respect to the actor for really bringing this character to life.
