Where you are it must be hot and warm climate not much snow, to grow watermelons. Our zucchini get huge like that but we have a short summer with almost 20hrs daylight. Cheers and thank you sister Xia!

Don't be too hard on them. In Chinese culture, it is actually encouraged, to have people come and eat because it strengthens the bonds between them. It is expected and they would see it as an insult if they didn't come eat when being so close by. We are also only seeing a slice of life here. For all we know, her family is eating over at the others houses all the time. They do many things together and help each other a lot so I think they are lucky to be that close to their whole family. I envy that.🙂
