I dont think none other hindi movie had showcase such kind of storyline, directorship, music and off course performances. Aishwerya Roy was superbly directed in this movie, Rituparno Ghosh gave her a new image through such character, and she proved herself that she really has such caliber to perform such complicated character. The movie was a masterpiece, but what is the unique element is the music and songs. Shobha Mudgal has not been used like this by any one. It is a pity that the hindi film industry has not explored the talent of Devjyoti Misra, the music director, he is definitely in league with AR Rehman if not better.
This movie and it's songs are like an abstract art. Just looking at it superficially, you won't feel anything but once you start imagining and getting in depth of each line , dialogue and scene there is no coming back.

Someone very close to me recommended this movie to watch, and after watching it I cried like anything, but one thing that still bothers me is the personality of that person, that, how a person having a sense of feeling such deep emotions could be so cold in person! কমেন্টে দেখলাম, সবাই খুব করে প্রশংসায় মেতেছে ঋতুদা কে নিয়ে, কিন্তু উনি যখন বেঁচে ছিল? তখন? কত বিদ্রূপ, কত বাজে কথা সামনে পেছনে বলেছে তাকে! তার আচরণ, তার কথা বলার ধরণ, তার মুভি নিয়েও বহু কটু কথা বলেছে, কৌতুক করেছে, সার্কাজম নয়, সিরিয়াসলি এবং সরাসরি তাকে অপমান করার উদ্দেশ্যও বলা হয়েছে । টিভিতে যা দেখেছি তাতে এটুকু বুঝেছি। তাহলে পর্দার আড়ালে আরো কত কত কষ্ট সইতে হয়েছে তাকে?? কেউ তার পাশে ছিল কি? কেউ কি কখনো মানুষটাকে বুঝতে চেয়েছে? আমরা তার কাজ দেখে আজ এত কিছু বলছি, যদি তখন বলতাম তাহলে হয়ত মানুষটা আরো কিছুদিন থাকতো আমাদের মাঝে! আল্লাহ্ তোমাকে নিশ্চয়ই তোমার ভালো কাজের প্রতিদান দেবেন ঋতুদা! ভালো থেকো ওপারে!!!
