Hi DD. A while ago I left an angry message about how hard it can be to pursue purity as a single man in today's society. I apologize for my attitude and thank you for continuing to allow God to use you.
Since that last comment I made, God has begun a work in my heart showing me that the struggle with/against sin is not contrary to His will but is rather an opportunity to grow closer to Him and see my desperate need of Him! This video you've shared so confirms that in my heart! Please pray for me, brother as I stumble along the narrow path. I will pray for you, your family, and your ministry! God bless!

This is what many of the prosperity preachers get wrong. I had a pastor who i really loved at an old church say something like "Jesus' gifts are like when you go to your parents place. You don't have to ask for them, you just open the cupboard and take them" and later i thought... that's not true. Jesus doesn't just open all his gifts to everyone and say "take whatever you want!" because we're His children, and a good Father doesn't spoil a child and let them have whatever they want. A good Father says no even when the kids beg for something because he knows what's right for them

This reminds me of maturity. If you're a small child begging for extra cookies the parent will say no. Now I'm an adult and I am mature enough to go to the cupboard and get cookies, but I only take a few because I understand the consequences of too much sugar. Now I get free reign of the things I wanted as a kid but I have different desires and responsibility. Now the parents will let me have the cookies.

I got VERY sick in 2009, and it almost took my life, I cried and got mad. It shook my family. I lost hope. I lost everything. Then, in walks Jesus, just when all hope was gone. He healed me just in time and I realized, it was for his glory. Now, I'm a beacon of hope for hundreds of people with the same rare disease. The pain has helped me help countless people. That kind of mentality broke my relationship with Jesus. Cuz since I was not able to do everything I thought I had to do so God would see me as a good servant, I felt like I didn't even had the right to pray, like I new that we are saved by Grace, and that there is a verse that goes "come boldly to the throne of grace", but I couldn't embrace it. I became so condescending to myself and to my brethren, and also bitter. Now I'm still struggling sometimes, but recognizing that was a complete lie helped me to begin to move on, and enjoy God and my walk with Him.

I understand that condemnation you feel. I once felt the very same feelings of hatred and unworthiness towards myself. Although those feelings used to consume me, I no longer feel them as strongly anymore. It's not impossible to escape that condemnation. Take a step back from your life and look at the big picture. We are all humans living on this corrupted and temporary planet. Earth was corrupted by sin. God never meant for it to be this way, but the sin of humans caused it to be this way. In the book of Genesis, the serpent in the Garden of Eden convinced Eve to eat of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, and she convinced Adam to join in as well. Even though God told Adam before, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." (Genesis 2:16-17). They both became spiritually dead in that moment and doomed the rest of humanity in sin. That is why God sent Jesus to die for our sins, so that all who repent and believe in Jesus would be forgiven and would receive the gift of eternal life, through faith in Him alone are we saved. That condemnation you feel is not from God, it's from the devil. The devil was the serpent in the Garden of Eden who convinced Eve to eat of the fruit and he is doing the very same thing to every generation of God's people. He wants all of humanity to join him in hell, because he hates us as we are made in God's image. Do not be deceived, you are a child of God, not a slave to the devil. I pray that God breaks every chain of anger, condemnation, and bitterness in your heart that are spiritually cutting you off from His love. His love is so great for you, more than you can ever imagine. Please do not believe the lies of the enemy, but believe in the God who sent His only Son to die for you. None of us are worthy of God's love, that is why His love is so gracious and worthy of praise! The only power that the enemy has against you is the power of deception. Break down those strongholds of deception with the Word of God. His Word is the truth. That is why it says in scripture, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:31-32). You can only be set free by the truth. Where there is spiritual defeat, there is always spiritual deception. The enemy has no power over you besides this, so destroy the strongholds of deception with the truth. Remember, you have the Holy Spirit within you! You have received it through faith in Christ. Your spirit is already one with God's Spirit, but your body and mind are being sanctified every day. Surrender your flesh to the Spirit of God and be made new! There is one more set of scriptures I would like share with you. They are about Paul. He is one of the Disciples who wrote the Bible. He was saved by Jesus, even though he had persecuted Christians for years and even murdered them. If anyone was undeserving of Christ's love, it was him. I want you to read these scriptures from Paul and remember, this is someone who went from murdering Christians, to being a Christian and a follower of Jesus. "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life." (1 Timothy 1:12-16). Receive the love of Christ. Not because you deserve it, but because God is so gracious. In Jesus name, Amen.

This is what happens when wolves in sheep's clothing and serpents say that we have to do works to be saved, stay saved, or prove we are saved. It's grace mixing with Law, which is literally the Galatian error. False brethren like John MacArthur, Paul Washer, and Ray Comfort are wicked as all hell for perpetuating the false and unbiblical, "repent of your sins" gospel which was never, not even once, preached within the entire bible.
God isn't the author of confusion.

2 Cor. 7:10 “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death”
Well, u see repentance and faith can be understood as two sides of the same coin. Its impossible to place ur faith in Christ as Savior without first changing your mind about your sin and about who Christ is and what He’s done. Whether it may be repentance from willful rejection or repentance from ignorance or disinterest, repentance is a change of mind from rejection of Christ to faith in Him.
But i get what u mean, one may mistake repentance as an act to earn or gain salvation. In reality, all of salvation including repentance and faith is a result of God willfully drawing us, renewing our hearts and minds. Nobody can repent or come to God lest he grants repentance, which is only possible because of His grace (John 6:44, Acts 5:31;11:18) Therefore, neither repentance nor faith isn’t a work we can do to earn salvation, rather salvation is a gift from God. Christ has done for us all the work on the cross, and he offers that gift of salvation for us. Its only through His grace that he offers us repentance and faith.

As someone who grew up in a Lutheran home, it was KIND of implied (and joked about) that good works = salvation / bad things happen because i'm not working hard enough for GOD. The last 12-14 months have been an absolute rollercoaster for me. I spend hours crying asking GOD "WHY?". This was an incredible reminder that EVERYTHING is done so that GOD may be glorified. Thank you so much brother. Can't wait to meet you (maybe on earth, but definitely in heaven :P) and thank you personally for this. May GOD bless you and your ministries!

This! I grew up Lutheran too, and I read your comment and thought, “someone else gets it”. It didn’t help that my dad would watch Joel Osteen on Sunday mornings and I’d sit and watch and I became convinced that if I did good things God would be pleased with me. But then crazy, bad stuff happened to me, something out of my control but it negatively effected me and honestly caused me to be agnostic because I thought if God was real, this is a punishment for something. That this bad things MUST be my fault. But that’s not true! Yeah, there’s consequences for our actions, but God allowed these things to happen so that it would cause me to cry out to Him. Later, in 2020 I became a born-again Christian. I repented of my sins and trusted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
This lie hurt so much for so long and it gave me a twisted view of God, God had to correct in me. The issues I had was, I thought these bad things were a consequence of my failure to be good.

@@trevrockrock16two things can be true at the same time. He was referring to John 11 which does say “it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” And at the same time John 3:16 is true. God can do it because He loves us and because it glorifies Him.

    • @rinomite.
      @rinomite. 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

I agree with you and was just saying that two things can be true at the same time. Is God not glorified when we say He died for us because He loved us? “This sickness” Jesus refers to is a specific situation but it is also an answer to the sickness, trials, and sufferings we face today. We might not get the same result as Lazarus but I’m relieved to know God gets the glory. John 9, Jesus says that the man was born blind so that the works of God might be displayed in him. Which is the same as God being glorified.

I mean, the book of Job completely disproves the idea that bad things happen because we aren't working hard enough for the Lord. That is one thing I've never understood as it seems almost like a belief that can't even be interpreted from the bible without negating entire sections.

@@trevrockrock16 The very first Chapter of the book of Job talks about how Job was blameless and upright, he feared God, and he turned away from Evil. God then allowed Satan to test Job's faith in God by taking everything from him, except his life. That right there shows that even with faith and living a righteous life, we are still not guaranteed any sort of rewards here on Earth, which the comment was talking about. God does bless those who believe in him and his Son Jesus Christ, blessed means extreme happiness though, he also will provide for us. Our guaranteed reward is eternal Life. I never comment on TH-cam but your story broke my heart. I cannot imagine the pain you have been through but I have seen tragedies around me and learnt to weep with those who weep (Rm 12.15). I think you have the right reaction when you say : who else can I turn to ? (John 6.68) I'm glad your dad got closer to God before he died at least you can have the hope of seeing him again and the comfort of knowing he's having his best life now (1 Thess 4.13-14). But the pain of missing the ones we love is real and we have a God who can understand our pain and have compassion for us. He sees you, He knows you, He cares for you (1 Pet 5.7) . I pray for His love to bring you comfort and for your trust in Him to grow, having the confidence that He is sovereign, wise and good and that somehow even though it's difficult for us to fathom: all things really work for good to those who love him (Rm 8.28). It's OK to say to God: this is too hard or it's unfair. We have Psalm 13 for example and many other complaints in the Bible.
I also pray that you will find comfort in the promise that one day there will be no more pain (Rev 21.4). May His peace be with you.

hey Joe. Im sad to hear your mom passed of cancer.. I couldn’t imagine the pain and grief you’ve felt in that circumstance. You mentioned something to the effect of good things happen and it’s God and when unfortunate things happen that’s also God. I don’t agree with that entirely because it depends on the situation and who/what is involved but I will say as humans we do not know the mind of God, we only know what he revealed to us in his word. Sometimes things happen that we have no clue why it’s happening and we either blame God or give him glory for it, when in either situation we should have faith in the things he’s promised us. Life is life.. there’s ups and downs but God never changes. He knows better than us and promises to provide us peace when we cast our cares into him. I hope that helps a bit. (Also highly recommend reading the wisdom books of the Bible: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Job) stay blessed

Wow, great video!! I love the passion that you show, it really grips me. I've been in physical pain for awhile now and have prayed so many times for God to heal me. But I remember before I was a Christian how terribly upset and depressed I would get from these types of things. With Jesus however, I find myself just resting and trusting God's plan. I'm suffering a lot but knowing that God is in control gives me peace 😌🙏

@user-on8gd3rc3o unless you accept Jesus as your Lord, you will be judged guilty. Because none have kept the Law, in fact we die because we have all broken it and the wages of sin is death. But God provided the sacrifice, just like the passover lamb, like the Ram in the thicket, like Jesus Christ
Its ironic you think Christians are idol worshiping, as you falsely self righteously believe God forgives sin just because you ask Him. You dont even believe in the real deal, that is that sacrifices have been the means to cleanse sin since adam and eve sinned and God killed two animals to clothe them. You are guilty under the Law, so be under grace through Faith in Jesus.
Read Isaiah 53 so you dont just twist our Lord’s Word since you dont know Him enough to understand His plan. You dont even know your Old Testament since you dont believe in blood as cleansing sin. Youve made up a spiritually broke theolgy based on not the Old Testament but on a single twisted verse from isaiah

    • @jakeschwartz2514

@user-on8gd3rc3o youre absolutely wrong. And you still didnt actually explain how im wrong about you breaking the Law. You don’t uphold the Law, you will therefore be judged guilty.
Isaiah 53 is absolutely about Jesus, your unbelief is so strong. And still you dont even follow the actual Old Testament when it comes to your backwards theology where you twisted Isaiah into thinking God forgives sin just by asking Him. Thats never how it works. Sacrifice for forgiveness of sins is a blatant Old Testament practice
Isaiah the prophet said the iniquity of the people of Israel would be upon the suffering Messiah (which jewish tradition has isaiah 53 be about messiah not Israel) and by his stripes we are healed. If you knew the context of Isaiah youd know at this time Israel is about to be exiled for failure to obey God. Called named like Sodom.. God does not take pleasure in the sacrifices because the people’s hearts are far from God. It doesnt make any sense for the suffering servant to be Israel, as the context for Isaiah onward is the failure of Israel, the destruction of the temple, captivity into Babylon
Jesus is the Lord.. if only you knew God on a personal level. God bless you, dont let stumbling blocks stop you from experiencing God

The problem is, they have no knowledge of this, and also no obligation to reciprocate or do what you expect them to do, thus leading you to become bitter and resentful. thats a heart posture I had to change as well. My husband and I live with my family and rent 2 rooms with our 2 kids. I use to complain and just have a terrible attitude about it. Walking with Christ helped me to change my attitude and be greatful, but even then I came to a place where i had to tell God.. " Lord even if we cant move and we never get a home of our own, Im still going to follow you." That was not in my mind at all or how I thought even a year prior. Trusting in God is hard, and that journey is tough and it hurts but he never is empty handed. Whether hes setting up something greater in the moment or years to come or your kids lives and you dont get to see, Praise God !! He is in control and all I want is His will over my life. wow, this just hit home for me, tears in my eyes. i rededicated my life to Christ a little more than a year ago, but for the past months i’ve fed myself with so much incorrect doctrine and beliefs out of ignorance. I just sought to learn more about God and theology but i didn’t take seriously enough the effects of digesting incorrect teaching. i’ve allowed myself to listen to sermons and ‘christian’ things on youtube more than the Word itself, and all this time i’ve wondered why I was feeling so horrible towards myself and even others. i didn’t realize so much of what I listened to was preaching a works based salvation or prosperity gospel. i always felt like I wasn’t doing enough. that I wasn’t good enough to be a follower. THANK you for bringing this to light with TRUTH, and letting us know that we are not alone.

Because I just handed it over to him and now know that even that was an instrument for His glory. I guess it all has to do with surrender ultimately. Surrender and persevering faith that God is with us and will never leave us, and that ultimately everything works for our good as well (Jer. 29:11)

Whenever the LDS missionaries come through my neighborhood, they think I'm nuts when I share with them that salvation is a free gift, because they truly believe that they have to "do everything that we are capable of doing" in order for God's grace to kick in. I've even showed them from their own unholy book, in 2 Nephi, that even the Book of Mormon states the biblical doctrine in the opening that salvation is a free gift. They never seem to understand this though because they believe salvation isn't the same as "dwelling with God for eternity", they have a whole concept of exaltation that they then go onto try and explain.
When it comes to talking to fellow Christians, I find two camps: the lacksadasical, "nothing matters, faith isn't important, the good people go to heaven and the bad people go to hell" loosely works based position, or the "abstain from all sin, become pure, sanctify yourself, or else you were never a true believer" ultra-works tethered-to-faith position. Both are erroneous beyond belief. Then you have absolutely harmful people here on TH-cam like RAY COMFORT who go around saying "Repent of your sins! Stop sinning or else you aren't serious!" and people get even more confused. Acknowledging that you're a sinner who can't save himself is the repentance of salvation, acknowledging that no amount of doing good works AND no amount of ceasing bad works can save you and justify you in God's eyes, only faith that Christ did the works (both the sinless life and the death on the cross) can allow me justification in His eyes.
I don't know what point I was driving towards but I felt it necessary to type this up. Faith alone saves. Grace doesn't withhold itself based on your performance. If it did, it would no longer be grace. Galatians 2:21 preaches it boldly: “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”

I am LDS (kinda, I attend church there and agree with some things, but I think lots of things they believe are wrong) and it is truly heartbreaking how many of my peers believe that they can save themselves based on works. I could go on and on and present many scriptures about how wrong that belief is, but for now I’ll just say I thank God and Jesus for bringing you to try to show the missionary the error in that belief. Keep on letting God work through you!

This gave me so much peace. I can’t even explain it. It’s like a burden was lifted off of me, when I realized that I’m on the throne. I started to believe the lie that God WASN’T trustworthy, because I’m suffering. But I’m so happy to know that he’s still good no matter what I’m going through. MY relationship with the Lord has been suffering because of this lie. But now I see, Jesus is still with me.

We should also be ready and willing to go through trouble, hardship for the glory of God. Without complaining. This wisdom comes after going through hardships and trials. I have learned this just the past few years and it hurt beyond words to get this . I’m thankful, extremely grateful to the Lord for holding me while learning this truth. I asked why for awhile and complained constantly. Then Holy Spirit showed me what I was doing and it hit me. Everything a child of God suffers is for the kingdoms sake. It teaches us how to follow Jesus faithfully.

My experience the more I follow the harder I suffer. So I expect from God but I stay humbled. I stopped since a long time to ever accuse God anymore. I share my pain with him and wait on him. Saying yes to him.

Thank God that His grace and mercy covers not only our sins of conduct, but also of thought, which includes heterodoxy in our theology/doctrine ❤

This is such a hard truth. I lost my mom to Covid and lost my family in so many ways these past 5 years, and it’s so hard to see how He will use that for His glory. But WHO KNOWS what He’s trying to do. Maybe my hurt and my grief will provide a helping hand to someone who also has gone through the same thing. Maybe it’ll even save their life. I know God saved mine many times, I know He knows what he’s doing.

Let us remember that their perspective that resurrection was good as long as it was within 3 days due to the defilement and natural breakdown of the body. He not only resurrected Lazarus, He did it "when all hope was lost"

Sorry, I know this is a nitpick, but neither Mary nor Martha came to Jesus to tell him Lazarus was dying. They sent Jesus a message informing Him Lazarus was dying.
As far as the rest of your video, this is such an important point that we need to learn. A few years back, I got fired from a job where I was making a lot of money and had a position of authority. Thing is, I was idolizing that job, and God needed me to focus on Him more. He took that job from me so I would place my identity in Him, and he has since put me in a new position that does not pay as well but is so much better for me in so many ways.
