Help, I have this message "Transmission fault. Service now". Can I drive to the Ford Dealer 4 miles from my house? The car drives( back/forward) but does not change gears. The problem started a week ago and since then I have not driven my car, which is a problem, I do not have another vehicle at the house. In July 2023 I received a letter from Ford: It Extended the warranty on the transmission control module, also I checked at the Ford Motor Company that has warranty coverage extension on the transmission clutch shudder. Thank you for your information, if is possible.
Never heard of LUK parts. I ordered OEM Motorcraft from Sun Rise Ford. I have no codes. My 2013 focus has 72k on it. The other day it wouldn't go into reverse, nor 1st. I ordered new ones. The tranny works fine. I figured I would change them out regardless. Is it okay to remove and replace only?
Yes but if you can I would determine whether it is the time or the clutch pack. I would diag a little more before replacing random parts. That can be very pricey especially from the dealer. Also the dealership uses luk brand as well.
@@BackwoodsRestoration Thank you for your information. My transmission was updated with " a newer TCM module and software update from Ford a few years ago. Yes, replacement parts are getting $$$ . I will probably have it checked out, it runs fine, good car, except for these trannys
Advance auto parts sells the LUK clutch kit that includes everything but the actuators. (LUK makes the Ford parts)
That's what we use

No it would be safer to have it towed

Could the lurching and shifting hesitation be a bad TCM?
Sounds like throttle body
