  • Some SBS Transit Scania K230UBs have been selected for possible export to another country. Several buses have been spotted in a carpark in Keppel, bearing notices suggesting that there are 20 units in total for export under "RVS Global". Where do you think they are going?

    It is lucky that those K230UBs have escaped from being scrap metal. I wonder if the buses selected for import are gonna get shipped off to another country and get a new lease of life there ,or they will be bought by A&S Transit. Hopefully the rest will be preserved and not be stuck in a bus park or depot to rot like what happened with TIB1238H. Not mentioning they were retired early ahead by 4 years they could just use them as replacement buses if a bus broke down, a training bus or a bridging bus if there was a major train disruption.

    I find it quite backwards that Singapore banned chewing gum except ones ment to help with quitting smoking because the pavements were covered in them (chewing gum was becoming land pollution) and yet they scrap 13 year old buses even though they see buses which are 17 year old or older as dangerous so it's a waste of buses because they could be used for other routes or as Spare buses

    • @glitchFan2428
      @glitchFan2428  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Technically only the sale of chewing gum is banned, you can still buy it in small amounts from other countries and bring it in for personal consumption. Yeah it's a real waste that they are scrapping buses that can still be used

      Fyi Jakarta is commited to procure electric only and no more fuel based buses. Their plan to ban combustion vehicle around 2035 onward seems going to be approved.
      If other smaller cities want to procure similar type of bus they would get it second hand from Transjakarta I assume.
      Manila desperately need this Bus asap.. their current EDSA BRT fleet is lacking and the embarking door is on the wrong side.

    I wonder when its time for the Euro V KUBS turn to retire, will any of those be preserved. Also hoping some of the remaining CDGES will get preserved. Chances i heard quite low i bet since they are Euro III Emission. But then i heard a bus emission can be switch from Euro III/IV to Euro VI, Not sure if that is true or not. If it is true, i just wish those retired Euro II buses in the past would be converted😔Well i guess this is the closest we can get to preserving a bus coming from SG. Speaking of preservation, SMRT could just sell of TIB1238H to another country for preservation/operations. No point to be SG just to rot in a corner and 0 chance to run again.
    Fact: Once the Euro V KUBS retires, we can say goodbye to Scania buses in SG bcoz lta isnt interested in buying buses from Scania anymore.

      @@glitchFan2428 tbh nobody would know that these buses despite being managed by lta, lta still approve the sale so i wonder why smrt doesnt sell its buses? And are overseas market for second hand vehicle really bad?

      @@TIB1106EProductions Arent these K230UBS owned only by sbs & not lta? So this techincally is decision from them. Besides these buses were retired way earlier compared to the other two models i believe.

      Yeah it seems like the bus in the video was refurbished and didn't even enter service again? Cos of the lack of LTA stickers... but u can clearly see the interior has been refurbished by looking at the pillars being a lighter colour
