Haha good shit. Was doing these builds back in the 2000s. I swear the vl rb20e has a higher comp ratio, did cefiro 20es and they went ok but quite laggy, vl went the best by far super responsive, i was on boost earlier and harder then my friends 20det and i was nearly half his boost sitting right beside him. Never got it tuned just ran 20det ecu injectors and afm, ran nomore tten 5psi and sent it til the wastegate eventually caught the loom on fire 😂 probably still be running otherwise

Just screw it into the block, the block already has the hole threaded to add another knock sensor

Isnt there already a feed port and drain for oil and water on the exhaust side I thought the castings for the block were pretty much the same between the det an de i think you just need the right size fittings
There is a hole threaded for oil feed already just need to drill the the last little bit out by the looks, the marking is there for the return line but you need to drill and tap then install a fitting. The bottom end in this car was pretty high ks and I have a spare genuine 20det engine to be rebuilt so we just built this thing without opening up the bottom end and having to worry about metal shavings but it's on the plans for when it comes out because I don't really like the tee and long feed line, it does the trick tho if you want to keep the build simple 🙂

No the 20e manifold doesn't fit onto the 20det head

Yes as far as I know it will work, don't think there's to many differences between a DET head and DE

Yeh it's sweet as the motor in the skyline in the video is a untouched 20e bottom end with a det head onto it

You'll need to run a rb20det loom and if you want to have the dash and everything work ( rev gauge, temp all that) then you need to splice in the dash plug from the r33 loom. The main power for the 20e loom came from under the brown relay up by the window wiper motor so when he made the loom he kept that for the power but I also noticed that there is a main power plug in the same place a factory det/de body has it up by the passenger headlight so you may be able to get the looms power from that. If you add Nissan Nathaniel on FB I can send you some pictures of what I mean.

for the rb30et people usually use a rb26dett head but thats for like 1000hp builds

The 20es don't have a standard turbo manifold you have to have one custom made, the manifold I am using on the engine in the video is a standard rb20det manifold because I have a twin cam head on the 20e block
If you are leaving the single cam 20e head on the motor then you will have to have someone make you a custom made manifold to suit the single cam head you can't use a rb20det manifold on a 20e because the bolt pattern is different. It's easier to find a complete rb20det head and then remove the 20e head and put on the 20det head

Even if you are building an rb24? What is the actual reason. The 25 head flow is way better
@foodley123 an rb24 is built using a rb25 block with a single cam 30e head and a rb20det crank shaft. Do some googling first if you don't know anything about the questions your asking. A rb25 head isn't going to fit onto a 2.0 litre block is it, the bore sizes are different. Also the rb25 head has the oil and water galleries in different places so they won't line up, the rb25 runs VCT unless you find a series 0 rb25de head. One motor is a 2 litre and the other is a 2.5 litre have a think about it.
@foodley123 and it cracks me up the only reason yous have is " the rb25 head flows way better" lol have you not heard of port and polishing your head ? Geez everyone acts like the rb20 was not thought out and it's a shit slow motor hahaha. With the right mods done to the rb20 it'll keep up with the rb25s 😂 run a decent aftermarket plenum aftermarket exhaust manifold with a good turbo and a link ecu or similar the rb20det will go like fuck.

@JoeKean-bo4bu if you're putting a turbo on a 20de it's a bit easier you just need turbo manifold with turbo, intercooler, put an oil feed and return on the motor like in my video. It will run with a de ecu but preferably get a det one. Have a dig around on Google and TH-cam and you'll find more than enough info, just search "how to plus T a rb20de"

Yeh the 20e can handle power, look up sammits bogan 32 it's pushing some HP on a stock bottom end
