Worked awesome, saved a stihl ms261 cylinder off a saw I got recently. I also have a another stihl ms261 that has been mastermind and I love it thing cuts like a dream with a 20” 3/8 bar and chain
Mastermind Worksaws, this is an excellent instructional video. I am looking forward to trying this today. What is the exact Scotch-Brite coarseness used in this?
Great video! What actually causes the aluminum transfer? Is it from running the saw lean? Can this be prevented with a richer oil mix, and richer carb settings?
would this work on older poulans? like the 2300s or the s25da saws?or is the plating to soft on them? great video....im someone that needs to see it .... thanks for the video...
you could have used a flapper wheel on a electric dremel i used muratic acid today , went through 40 q tips still small chunk of aluminium on cylinder wall
Wonderful. My wife was even impressed.
Thanks for the videos. I will have a go at my first cylinder clean up this evening.

Tnanks for the video. Redoing a 570 with some Al transfer and trying to save the cylinder this should work perfectly.

Even if you mix fuel and oil correctly and tune the carb properly, air leak still gonna cause saw running too lean and lead to the seizure.

It will work on any plated jug...
2300 had an unplated aluminum cylinder bore with a chrome plated piston SD25A had a chrome plated cylinder bore with an unplated aluminum piston
DAGWOOD... that is a sanding disk arbor, the rubber disk is cut down smaller than the cylinder ID
After this cleaning, the cylinder needs to be honed?
Cristi Ro No. just washed out to remove any stray grit.
Thanks!
