Oh yes from Ted White and a couple of other men is what I was told from people who were close to her that were from Detroit told me so I'm sure that was from experience! no Doubt!
She sung this on the Rolonda Watts Show in Feb. 1997, that should be on TH-cam. She also sung this as a Tribute to Babyface at the 1996 Essence Awards.

Oh and y'all got to give it up for the pianist. He handled that song with a subtle finesse that brought out the best in the Queen. In fact, all of her accompanist were beast. I guest they had to be given her awesomeness on the keys.
Yes and nobody could ever deliver these songs like Queen Aretha, the best raw Soulful track on that Soundtrack LP Waiting to Exhale ,( as Whitney said in the movie - somebody must have been going through something vto sing such a lyrical song .
Ms Aretha Franklin - AUTHENTIC QUEEN OF SOUL! I THANK GOD, HE ALLOWED MS ARETHA, TO EMPOWER THE WORLD WITH HER ANGELIC VOICE! TO THE ARETHA FRANKLIN FAMILY! MAY GOD CONTINUOUSLY COMFORT YOU... REST IN HEAVEN- PHENOMENAL QUEEN... MDMA'KO

In spite of what the Gospel According to Cleopatra Jones, Aretha Louise Franklin is the undisputed Queen of Soul. Aretha voice due to smoking did go through some changes. But no one can deny Aretha’s successful career and how she has influenced many in the industry. Michigan declares her voice a natural resource, voted greatest singer ever, and first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to name a few. One of the best selling artist, not to mention she did that with limited international travel to promote her work/artistry. Her gospel album is still the best selling of all time. Aretha has so much to her account. Aretha fans don’t waste your time on haters
She has no rival, she is rival-less, like Callas was in the opera field. All other singers trail in her wake and eat the crumbs that fall from the Queens table.

ARETHA FRANKLIN está hoje na companhia de DEUS pai todo poderoso juntamente com outros cantores e cantoras alegrando todos no céu com as vozes melodiozas que são lindasssss, te amo Aretha Franklin bjsss..
This is the song where she started using her head voice instead of chest. This is where she should have started getting ready to retire. After this, it became hard to listen to her.
I love her voice here. She never ever needed to retire- EVER. You just didn’t like her, and that’s fine. But she sang her face off until the day she died.
Maybe or became hard to listen to her, for you. And you should have retired from listening to "The One And Only Queen Of Song". Note: The many hits and outstanding performances since the date of this particular event. Just a few years before her transition, She was trending because "Natural Woman" became popular again after the performance at The Kennedy Center Honor In tribute to Carole King. She was the only thread that weaved in every race and every age group in every decade. 😉
Hmmm......Aretha actually was semi retired in 1982. why? I don't know. Aretha had start of voice issues soon as Her Dad was injured. Because Aretha was a smoker it is safe to say she probably smoked more. I have to say when Jump to it album came out the drastic change from Love all tje Hurt Away in her voice was unexpected but I got used to it because it was Aretha. Then Get it Right the voice was deeper and a little darker. Aretha is Queen no matter what shape her voice might be in.
What a time to be alive when singers sounded the same live and recorded in a studio.
Literally i said the same watching this
I'm a grown man with tears rolling down my face!!! No one could.have sang this song but the original Diva the queen Ms. Aretha Franklin
