I can clearly hear that they don't sound like Dick Dale or Dead Kennedys (no "the") at all, beyond a predilection for drenching everything in reverb. This album is a fucking masterwork of atmosphere - one of the finest efforts ever put forth by a USBM band. The aural equivalent of wandering through a cobweb-covered haunted church. They can take 20 years if they need it to maintain that standard.

Wanna talk about 90s black metal? Check out the increasing tremolo picking themes in death metal the past 10-15 years, see how death metal borrows elements from the 2nd wave of black metal. Just listen to Immolation, Incantation, Autopsy, Dead Congregation, Blaspherian etc. So wash your mouth thrice before you say anything about black metal kid, cause obviously you're too clueless to pass judgement on anything.

Tobias is awesome and is a veteran of the underground Scandinavian extreme metal scenes.
