And another very long video! I hope you guys enjoy the video as much as enjoyed creating the diorama and the video. The next videos will be a bit shorter I promise, but I will keep the longer and detailed video format, I promise! One quick note: a few of you pointed out that the antenna on the FW-190 isn't completely accurate. I researched this topic and you are right! Thank you for mentioning this! I already ordered some wire for the new antenna but unfortunately it didn't arrive in time. But this issue will for sure be fixed in the next couple of days! All the best!
When you lay down the ballast, spray or lightly soak it with Isopropyl alcohol and it wets the ballast and then use your glue but thin it so its not so thick and it will wick right down into the ballast and it will hold and look very good. You can use PVA glue as its cheap. It will not look glossy and you wont have to paint it like you did at 37:30. The graphite on the rails looks great. The figures are out of this world. You are on your way to being in the press and magazines, books and to the top with the greats!!
Thanks for the tip! I added some dish soap to my glue on my previous diorama but that didn't really worked so I went for the gravel and sand fixer. But that stuff is quite expensiv compared to the PVA glue. Also thanks for the kind words! It's great to see that you guys enjoy my work.
@@Kit.Chronicles Always soak your groundwork of any kind ,ballast, dirt, ect. with alcohol. Its cheapand you dont have to use soap at all. It will soak up any glue you use exept C.A. and it does not change the color. And your ballast, dirt, ect. will not float in the glue.
Danke dir!
Great video. Please keep the long form video (or split into multiple videos without reducing the content). Too many other TH-camrs present videos were you can see that they missed out loads of steps so you have no hope of recreating the same effect. Keep up the good work.
After binge watching hours of @Kit.Chronicles I can only write… give us more of this high quality content! I really appreciate the details you give about the items you used and the methods you use. I very much like the long videos, and those who don’t, can alway fast forward. Looking forward to seeing your figure painting video.
Genial!! 5/5 Sternen
What a great job ! It's amazing 😮 I'm learning a lot about different techniques. You're very talented, whether it's building the diorama, painting or patina. Well done! 👍
When using woodland scenics ballast, the white glue sits on the surface. To break rhe surface tension spray the ballast with isopropyl alcohol or window cleaner, flooding the ballast before the glue and the adhesive will wick down deep. You won't see the white glue either when dry.
Heck of a build, well worth the watch! So many great techniques and tricks I'll definitely be bookmarking it to come back and watch again for reference in the future.
Hi friend next time you join the wooden veneer overlap it then cut it right through both pieces with a squiggly line at an angle of 45* or more and you’ll get an invisible join , it’s an old photography trick in joining large photos together 👍
Absolutely OUTSTANDING! The scene composition is fantastic, the attention to detail and the effort put into this diorama really earns you the title of master modeller! Looking forward to the projects ahead this 2025
just amazing work ,you are very skilful if you want a tip to make your life easier for base material and more find at your local store some Tile Adhesive or tile grout ,comes in a bag and is powder that you mix with water ,are in many colors but i love the grey , drying must faster and rock solid doesnt crack even when super thin and you can clean it with water ,i am using it to everything ,as grout for the bricks as base ground ,even to create mud with some acrylics ,when is almost dry you can use a wet sponge to polish it or to give some texture !
Absolutely astonishing! This whole series and final result has been a blast to watch! I personally love the long video format and ambitious project! Can’t wait to see more.
Just working on my dio. Knew I shoukd have added bolts on my corrugated roof but frankly was too lazy. Having seen the difference, Im now kicking myself lol. Great work pal.
They are such a cool detail. Night Shift did even nicer bolts in one of his recent videos. But those sadly weren't around in the 40's so I went with this simple version.
A long vid but shows how to do things like weathering in steps which people can learn from, great diorama a real pro . The figures now I would like to see your vid that's one area that I need to learn. Great work as usual keep it up....👍...

Mfg Olli
Fantastic work. I love modelling channels where people talk about whats happening, instead of having annoying music. Subscribed! Is that modified 3D printed tool for 1/35 corrugated metal for download at thingyverse or printables?
Nice work! I remember you asking about the cockpit display position on reddit. Did I also notice you using Knipex pliers? I am an electrician for my day job and Knipex is one of my favorite hand tools.
Thanks a lot! Yes, I did. I wasn`t sure if I should keep the hood open or leave it off. I use those for everything that's harder then plastik. I dont really like them for that but for wires and stuff they are amazing. I also own a pair of Knipex pliers that are completly smooth that's great for bending photoetched parts.
Thank you! Those are AK Interactive Snow Microballons. They are fine enough to create a realistic looking texture and are easy to brush into place. But on the other hand they aren't "dusty" like real plaster so they dont stick to the already painted surface by friction. I glue those in place using Gravel and Sand Fixer. For a smooth result it's a good idea to do two layers.
I think there is is no word to discribe this. I think you should apply for a job in the film industry. They could use someone like you ☺ Fantastic work, it's a work of art. Any idea how many hours it took?
Thank you so much! The whole project took around 730-750 hours. The Diorama itself took around 200h of work. I am quite slow sometimes. The next project is already in the making!
I'm going to have to get some of that xps foam. I bought some foam, but it's too soft to cut accurately, and it won't sand either. Is there a particular brand or density of xps I should be looking for.
It´s hard to give brand recommendations. Afaik Styrofoam/XPS is always more or less the same stuff made by different brands. The important part seems to be the "kpa" value. In my case that's 300kpa and that stuff works quite good.
@@Kit.Chronicles Thank you so much for that information. I'll have a look and see if I can get some. 👍 I forgot to say that you're diorama is incredible. I'm going to watch all the build videos as well.

The original tool is on Thingiverse (thing:2354062) I just rescaled it in my slicer, worked without any issues.
