- Rail Adventure class 43 HST power cars seen passing Hitchin on a UK Railtours charter service from Finsbury Park to Newcastle. An unusual combination of HST power cars hauling mark 2 coaches as a loco hauled double header. 43468 front and 43480 behind.
I wondered if they would run double headed or one power car at each end...good catch

To have one at each end and be able to have both under power, the train needs a special control cable from end-to-end. Only the HST Mk3 coaches had this cable.
@@malcolmsmith6615 I was just about to say that. Funnily enough, it's only the Network Rail MK2's that have push-pull technology because of the DBSO's.
Yes indeed. Push Pull with one loco and a remote set of controls (e.g. in a DVT) is not as rare as multiple working utilising two locos with vehicles between them. It takes some complex through circuits!
