It didn't work for me at all because there was no real logic here. Parody and satire only work well when they take actual events or facts, and then paint them in a manner that points out the absurdity such as Mad Magazine had done so well for so many years. Even Weird Al's song parodies work well because his humor is based on a very close parody of an original song or music video, with an absurd twist. This SNL cold opening just was not very intelligently written and lacked the sheer brilliance that I would expect of good parody or satire. Children could have written this cold opening. It was just that juvenile, and not good parody or satire.

It's this yearly, Hollywood action blockbuster shat out year after year after year for a billion bucks in profit to the point it's become a soulless corporate cash grab with no heart or passion in it. Just sequel after sequel after sequel and they ain't making anything "new" anytime soon. Until they literally burn audience members out.
The movies blatantly appeal to the lowest common denominator of viewer. And I just cannot stand how there's nothing creative coming out of Hollywood really anymore, because these are the movies that draw people in. Why would you take a risk on a new creative concept for the same cost when you can just remake another braindead superhero movie that guarantees you a billion in revenue? I dislike this. Same shit they do in video game industry with Call of Duty and shit. Same thing with Star Wars (notice how they aren't making any now that audience members are burnt out and appalled, still made billions in profit)

I went to watch Spider Man 3 in the movies and the whole theater was packed. There were only four seats available - all the way in the front row. That was exactly how I watched the movie, and I had to turn my whole head when one character was thrown to the other side of the screen. An unpleasant experience on the whole, though I really enjoyed the movie. This man is preaching the truth. DON'T SEE SPIDER MAN.

I feel bad for fans that saw the new Matrix in theaters. All it was was a cheaper version of the original film remixed. So glad there is HBO Max for things like this. Saved me some money.
