Yes, I have that T-shirt Ryan, love it as we used to live at Ukrumpa back in the mid 70’s. Also the other t-shirt with Cut Off Pull Off Shut Off. Walking down the street here in Bairnsdale Victoria this week I have three blokes say I love you T-Shirt! Regards Roger
Wonderful to see the Kompri valley again. I did a midnight emergency run along there in my jeep to Kainantu in the early sixties carrying a pregnant woman who was having delivery problems. It was a close call with mother and new child both requiring blood transfusions.
I can remember flying this same route in the 80s as a missionary kid in one of NTMs Cessna 185s. Very fond memories for sure. Great view of Numonohi. It looked like a fun flight of 2. My first loops and rolls were in a North American T6. Thanks Ryan.
Brings back some old memories of flying C130's in/out of Goroka. Tip: Don't wish to rain on your parade, but maybe do some formal formation training at some point. It'll be fun and a whole lot safer.
I’ve experienced formation flying. I wasn’t on the controls. It is quite awesome. The pilot in trail watches the leader and mimics everything that the lead does.
Like the video. I’ve done lots of formation flying, however not recently. Comms is super important. Having ADSB IN really helps in deconfliction and terrain avoidance. It makes safe flying way better. ADSB has really transformed the aviation environment for the good. It only occurred in the last 20 years. What a transformation to the ATC system..
Great vidio ,follow your channel most of the time . im in AU ,but my Nephew,in ZL ,operates cessna caravans ,and a variety of other aircraft around Mount Cook. my first trip was in 1970 ,lost count of my trips "over the ditch" .im know as "the airport juckie " as i get free flights . now 65 years old i left it too late to learn how to fly . but if i had to i recon i could !!!! also radio Ham VK5GS.Cheers keep up the good work .
I did Air Combat USA back in 1996, flying Marchettis. Dogfights against my brother with Infrared 'guns'. We did fomation flying on the way out to the battle. Was lots of fun!
Truck’n was the same way back in the day too, couple of guys running together. Ryan, always cool flying with you…your precision is very impressive! Fly safe bro!
I guess I’m just lazy cos when in tandem I prefer to lag back to the 4:20clock position with the alt and speed preset so I can always be in the same visual position. Set before takeoff. Using #1 right wing tip for flight following
That was great fun Ryan! A double challenge formation flying the low route with those clouds about. Interesting to listen to the radio calls too - ATC may be primative in much of PNG and must require a lot of individual discipline but it seems very effective. The low route to Aiyura with a low ceiling is a very interesting sim flight, though the first time I did it I found that arcing base/final turn surprisingly awkward, resulting in several go arounds!
Why were you flying in formation was you concerned about planes safety or is that best procedure just in case, cos it's not like putting a car on a low loader or tow rope
Formation flying is exciting and fun. When I was young I used to go in dawn patrol from Moorabbin Vic Australia. Not sure but it used to be a yearly thing and my dad and I always looked forward to it. Not sure if you can find any info or footage of it but would love to recreate it one day. What do you think?
Ryan - nice flight with you and Brad. I am curious though, having flown in formation while an active pilot, as to whether or not, you and Brad discussed and planned your flight and routines, before getting into your aircraft? I am guessing not, as you and Brad seemed to be shifting back and forth, form you being on his right to his left etc. You seem to be the more experienced pilot, so would be interested in your comments on this question. As always, I appreciate the time and effort you put into providing us, your audience with excellent video content.
@@MissionaryBushPilot Thanks for the up and up. Your doing great work with the people in your videos and your flying videos are simply brilliant. I'm not an aviator but I lived around pilots and airports all of my childhood. The closest I ever gotten to piloting is my drone pilot license. Greetings from Atlantic Canada.
Great flying landing, sure looks like fun flying there. in joyed watching you fly have a great one see ya next time see ya bye.

Everyone below my comments said it all. I always enjoy feeling like I am flying with you.

Special place for me. Spent a birthday joyflight out of that strip in 1985. Sweet.

That looked like it was a lot of fun flying formation. Always good to get the plane checked out for any maintenance. Great video coverage too.
The countryside looked great, lovely and green. I remember coming into the strip, wonderful scenery……..we certainly miss the place……..Roger
Wow! Brought back lots of memories. Aiyura hasn't changed much since I used to fly for SIL in the '70's! Thanks for the videos!

This speech is my recital, I think its very vital
To rock, that's right
"Its tricky" in the title
Guess you've since had some amazing experiences flying with the Kitfox!
Supeeeer like garantido of Brazil
The pilot's voice in NTK sounds a lot like one of the pilots you fly with in Arizona.
Great Kodiak 100! Are there any Airvan GA8 flying in PNG?

We knew the route, but we did a fly over of our center, so both lining up for that wasn't planned
Hey Ryan! Do you have a physical radio altimeter on the Kodiak, or is the 500 foot call-out just from the terrain database?
We’re they using paddles at Aiyura?
TAWS system test OK!
Do you ever get to pilot a PC-6???? BTW, I love your checklist box....
You would make a great helicopter pilot.
I just started watching you and your videos are fabulous. Do you own both these great looking planes?
I wish, but no, the organization I work for owns them

Sounds like you flew "Missing man formation" with the close flight of 4 and last one pulls off on the fly over...
I just tweeted this.
Talk about "follow me to the shop so I drop my car off for repairs and then give me a ride back "
nice,, ,what are those 2 black levers above your head for? fuel transfers / cutoffs ?
Great video, but didn’t get the thumbnail …..
Why didn't you tell us you had a second job? Butter salesman! The way the mains touched down. Butta!
so exactly why is this or any formation flight done?..
For fun
😎
