I was working my ass off, working in a garden centre which was permitted to stay open during covid and one of the few retail places that was available to the general public. Most other people were working from home. Yes, I was jealous. Long hours and dealing with tens of thousands of people, face to face, putting my health at risk. Now, I work from home in a new job and I can honestly say, it is F-ing AWESOME!! I'm an introvert, so it suits me down to the ground :)
This was a Holiday Prank. Nothing was hacked, managers allowed us to enter those meetings with pre-recorded videos to cheer their employees. PressReader was one of those companies that not only didn't let go of its employees during the pandemic but also continue hiring.
