I think seeing some non-oni keyword Oni showing up in other factions could be a lot of fun; make it like a Barbaros situation where they're actively rebelling against Asami's masters by supporting other groups
Just found your channel and enjoying your content. We have the TOS starter and the few other models that work for both the Guild and Court of Two. We are looking for other models that can work in both Malifaux and TOS. I cant imagine buying anything just Malifaux specific but want the option to play the game. I will be looking into the Deepest Depths Box.
Thanks for the video! Always nice to see more TOS content. :) Kawatora is the spitting image of Genbu - the Izamu proxy from the Hare & Tortoise box set. So I'll likely be mine for my TOS Gibbering Hordes. ;) Wong has been on my shortlist to proxy into TOS for ages now. Ive been hoping to use him as a proxy for Sonnia in a Guild Syndicate. But i always got stuck on what gremlin minis i could proxy for the gatling gunners. Just using him as Zhong Kui in a full Kimon company sounds hilarious though. :) Honestly it amazes me that Wyrd hasn't gone harder with the cross-game compatibility. It seems like such a no-brainer.
For the question of who else to give Oni to - the Dreamer has access to one Oni already from the title box, a connection seems to be possible there. Also, going purely off of "Asian inspired summonable demon-like stuff", do we know if Kirai might have a connection as well? Or rather, how the Beyond and the Afterlife connect? And lastly, with him drifting through the Afterlife and "the Paths", it certainly wouldn't seem like a stretch to give some access to Yan Lo maybe? Certainly taking something like the Penitent and giving them a *different* sort of purpose to make themselves ready fo be possessed by seems up his alley. (Yes, I am watching your back catalogue right now 😅)
I don't think there is much connection at this point between Kirai and the oni except that she's Japanese, but being comfy around ghosts might be enough to see a crossover. Yan Lo seems likely since he has been involved with fighting off the oni invasion for centuries and is involved with Asami. But they would have to be "good" oni for it to make sense. Maybe he will enslave some?
That sucks. :( There's a semi-active community in my state's capital city (Perth, Western Australia), but unfortunately I currently live in a town 6.5 hours drive away, where the wargaming community is almost exclusively warhammer. :/
I'm in Aus too. I'm genuinely surprised to hear people are playing. I'm in the ACT. I have a click of Malifaux players and we're playing Through the Breach soon but no interest in the Other Side.

We got the starter for Co2 and Guild to play ToS and we are dabbling into malifaux because of it... we prefer ToS actually
