I could give a VERY long explanation, but trust me, the inflation at grocery stores is mostly due to them jacking the prices or ripping you off in one way or another. I have worked in retail in one form or another for 45 years. When they tell you that for instance they MUST charge you $8.99 for 12 ounces of bacon due to their cost increases and the following day it's on sale for $3.00 for 12 ounces with no limit, that is NOT due to hog farmers raising and decreasing their prices on a regular basis. It just doesn't happen. I could go on and on with examples. But believe me, it is retailers that are pushing costs up. If you do your research you will find that almost our entire food chain comes back to 5 or 6 companies. It's not hard to price fix like that. The same way they do with phone companies. I don't care what cell phone company you choose, the unlimited plan won't be off by more $5 from their competitor when the bill arrives. If your company gives you such and such for free but the other company doesn't, then your company is charging you for something that the other company doesn't and it comes out to the same total said and done.
@@David53D There are MANY things at play. However, it is at the retail level where most of it is. And that's the reason prices go up overnight.

Its only common sense inflation is nothing more than corporate greed the same thing happens with oil prices someone in the middleast farts and they jack up prices . Ofcourse idiots will blame the President who has nothing to do with it .
Yeah these places are creating inflation. It is corporate greed. How can a place like dollar tree sell name brand foil and foil pans for 1.25, yet you go to Walmart and it is 4 dollars....Then I can go to another store in my town and the same foil pans are 9 dollars?? How is that even possible. It's because stores can mark their prices at whatever and these corporations can do it. Between the stores and corporations they are fleecing Americans. This stuff doesn't have to be so expensive.
I do the same thing when I go shopping. This afternoon I picked up 3lbs. of ground beef pre packed. I weighed it myself on a scale, it was only 2.4lbs. I said something to woman in the meat section, she said what do you want me to do about it. I shot back with fix it right, after that I went to the store's GM and I told her about it. Why should we have to pay $23.75 for something that should be something like $16.00. When I got home I sent an e-mail to the store's main office and told them what's going on in their stores.
One way this “could happen” is someone drained the liquid from the package the chicken was swimming in, yes swimming, ever weigh one of those pads in the bottom of the container? Did a large purchase of chicken breast for a wedding dinner, when we were done removing the chicken we weighed all of the packaging leaving as much of the liquid as possible, ended up being almost 1/3 of the total weight we paid for!! That’s the most common ripoff now days, buy a whole chicken and take a close look at it, you’ll find the injection sites all over it.
Wow I would have never thought to look at this thank you ladies for bringing this to our attentions yet again corporations trying to screw us over... While raising their prices when they don't need to underpaying their employees and now this crap
"The fresh market" chain is notorious for labeling packaged cooked foods items with quantities that are not real. Three chicken tenders cooked, with a quanity of 30 on the package sales label. It happens all the time. Some people don't pay attention and pay $40+ for an afternoon snack. Weights and measures in this state fail to act on any of my complaints about this contious abuse of customers.
I just came from a walmart to buy grapes and the same thing happened to me . The price on the shelf was $2.58 on the shelf but at the register it said $ 2.78 a pound and the price was $15 ! . Then i charged them seperately and it came to $4 per bag so not only did they do bait and swith but they are still overcharging after having settled the lawsuit for doing the exact same thing .
Don't call BBB they're a company like JD power, no teeth just PR firm. Call consumer rights bureau they are a government run organization like the FBI for consumer rights.
Questions: 1) What Supermarket is this. I can't find one that sells "California Company" chicken on a google search. 2) Did she notify the meat department, the manager or even the register checkout person? 3) Did she test the scale she used in produce to see if it was accurate, if the scale is weighing low the store is giving produce away 4) She put chicken on a raw produce scale, did she clean it up or did she potentially spread chicken blood or bacterial illness to a vegan?
Happens all the time after I weigh meat at home and portion everything out and the weights rarely match what I paid for. Usually it's not by much but sometimes there's half to a pound missing.
So its the responsibility of the CUSTOMER to check authenticity but the store can continue to "exaggerate" sales? Feels like a strange form of conditioning but that's just me
Whole Foods is notorious for doing this. Forget bringing it to the stores attention. The manager will apologize and correct for you. If you go back the next day it is the same circumstance. Reach out to Whole Food corporate and they will not even respond.

I went to alidi's i bought 1 jar of marina sauce but was charged for 2. I tried to call but i learned they have no one to answer the phones. Went back to tell the .manager she said ok just put it in your purse and walk out. Ummm no im not goin to do that. She alerted the cashiers that i was coming thru the line that i already paid for it. 🙄
This is just plain and simple a scam, stores know exactly what’s going on however they know not everyone is going to take the time to check and complain so they’re profiting from those customers… plain robbery/fraud.
Be careful when shopping. They over charge items. I went and got some Gatorade and one of the bottles was 7 dollars. I looked at my receipt and caught it lol.

I noticed noone mentioned calling the police and pressing chargers since this is essentially theft. These stores and police won't hesitate to throw ypu in jail if you manipulated the prices.

And then they hide behind all these discounts & points. Your incorrect total is $210 but once they “discount” everything your total is $180 so you’re not thinking to look for mistakes or additional savings. At least I didn’t! I was happy with the “discount” 😂😂 smdh

Watch yer Wallet or Purse too in those Germ Infected Dumps. Thieves will grab them and run out the door. They give Kickback to store managers and return next day.😂😂
Funny how these videos never show the whole scale, where there's a finger or other obstruction affecting the scale. Because it's much more believable than a conspiracy between the store and packager that someone wants tik tok views.
Let's call it what it is: Stealing from consumers and paying customers.

💯 agreed
True perhaps but the dollar is losing value due to the government's high inflation policy.

the new trend, "paying more but getting less".........
You can save a lot of money by checking your receipts before you lead the store

I accuse them all of doing it.
It's intentional,... I think if satisfaction is not achieved you need to complain to a government agency (like the AG, or DA?),...not the BBB.

WTH is the purpose of this lady, she’s saying take pictures of the prices at the store- how about you do your job and hold stores accountable.

The color of her hair tells me she's a liar.😂
Contacting the manager...Pfft nah nothing is changing...Lawyer up and sue
I was charged a $120 1 time 44 packs of meat that's what taught me to look at my receipts from now on
now do one on bent cans.

Shrink flation and price gouging. Criminal retail stores

If only DA and judges would stop shoplifters, grocery stores would not have to raise the prices to survive.
Lol, shrink isn't as big if a factor as you think. You don't have to make excuses for bad behavior.

Its not always the store, that looks like a walmart..meaning its their supplier cheating walmart and you.
