Just a tip from an old model, a owner. You must always turn the gas off when you turn the Ignition off. Also, think about flushing your gas tank and always put a filter in your fuel bowl. It will help stop all your problems.
One thing you could try is removing the air filter. They restrict the air supply unless it has been balanced. Good luck. They are a lot of fun to drive and easy to fix, and the smiles from people as you drive around are the best.

Many times it is sediment and gunk in the tank. If that is the case it will show up in both the glass sediment bowl and also in the carb itself. Likely will be a persistent problem until you resolve it.
