A showcase of my current progress on this romhack for Banjo Kazooie. Still very rough but I'm making good progress. This took quite a while to get to this state so don't expect any more showcases anytime soon. Maybe I'll set up a demo of this first world when I feel like it's ready for it. In the video you can still see a lot of texture issues.... and I really need to learn how to make custom music.
Sorry for the sporadic editing and low volume, I didn't want to waste too much time on this so it was a quickie.

For years, I always had fantasies of an expanded version of Gruntilda's Lair. I'm thrilled that you had similar dreams and was even able to fully realize them with this ROM Hack!

The part of the forest when he looks up and can see the lair is sick. I love that.
I love this! I always wanted to see what was behind the waterfall with BK. The portraits of the three witches, with Grunty's ripped out, was genius. This could be some sort of cool reverse tower built into the ground where Grunty was hiding her other experiments and worlds. Thanks for bringing back a bit of that BK magic!
oh this is like a dream. i love how do you involved spiral mountain and the old gruntildas lair to create a new adventure behind banjo-tooie. I just got some tears in my eyes seeing this...

I mean I do have my xbox one but it's emulator is a bit lacking in it's capability's. Then there is the wii but my emulator I use on it glitches the textures and makes enemies look albino as well as messing with level textures turning them white and stuff like that etc.

i bet everyone here always thought "what was behind the waterfall in bk?" or similar stuff in other platformers of our childhoods, this actually makes me go back to those times, what a great concept.

Wow. Such a good looking original idea. I really like the thought of exploring new rooms in Gruntilda's Lair. Something that I really would like to see in a Banjo-Kazooie game since Gruntilda's Lair was one of the things that made the first game great. I can't wait to see what else you have planned.

Oh nice. And pretty. I love new games/levels, but now I also really like the idea of expanding the original game with new areas and features in existing levels or recreating the familiar places in a new way. That hasn't really been done much in romhacks. Looking forward to seeing both the new and the familiar. Also it 'feels' like authentic Banjo game even more than most other romhacks, and the few that we have managed to do a pretty decent job of recreating the atmosphere.

For those wondering about Minecraft; Primitive Mobs is also still being worked on. I already have it running for 1.12.1, it just needs more features before I can release it. This romhack is just another project I work on. What can I say; I have a passion for modding/hacking :P

this is the most convincing rom hack I've seen, I love it !
0:54 I feel like the dialogue could've been better here for Banjo and Kazooie. I thought they were gonna say something like: "Banjo: Thanks Mumbo, you're such a help! Kazooie: Even though you transformed us into a literal ant... or a bee... Banjo: Kazooie!!! Kazooie: Sorry, just staying realistic here!" Instead of a simple: "Banjo: Thanks!"
The ROM seems great so far, though! I love what you are doing with the worlds and there are so many rewards and secrets in the levels it's aways nice to come back to!

I wish you could connect this new lair you're doing with the original one, and also see what's behind all the sealed paths especially the doors in the beauty machine room in the tower room, and what would happen in the lava room with the goby valley puzzle because of all the water that would get there from the rusty bucket bay area

These banjo kazooie rom hacks need to get on the same level as the mario ones as in publicity. This is outstanding
Part of this level reminded me of Conker's bad fur day and now I want to see someone make Conker levels inside Banjo Kazooie.

Hey there, I'm struggling with World 2 at the moment; but I still work on it from time to time. Progress is slow but it is not abandoned. The software BanjosBackpack is, however, not receiving any more updates. It appears that the community is moving more towards Banjo Tooie related tools. We'll see how that affects this project. For now it's still ongoing.

There are some updates, but not sure if I want to share yet. Also a lot of scrapped ideas which might be cool to show to get people's opinions. Anyway I'm currently working on another modding project and will continue on this hack afterwards :)

Honestly my only complaint is that when going into levels they seem to have music from previous levels. Well I mean the level you showed off anyways. I imagine that since it is a work in progress the level won't have mumbo's mountain music in the level. It'd be pretty cool having the beta music in the levels though. Love the beta music.

Is banjo backpack compatible? with banjo tooie it would be great to pass this hack rom with the skills of banjo tooie
It's currently not compatible with Banjo Tooie. However a programm called Wumba's Wigwam is in development which is made specifically for Banjo Tooie. But it is far from done and currently only allows model exports.
Daveyx0 couldn't you jusy import the levels into the new Banjo-Tooie level importer?
Daveyx0 Shoot now you can actually import levels with a new piece of software!!!!!!!!! You could create levels for Tooie within Kazooie and port them over!!!!!!
