Thank you for your review. I ordered a large bottle of Arpege a few minutes ago. I haven’t smelled it for years and am looking forward to receiving it. I used to wear it in my 20’s and 30’s and I am looking forward to wearing it in my 70’s. I think I will like it more now in my old age. I have collected all kinds of perfumes in the last couple of years to bring the past into my life. I think I spent a thousand dollars for them and I enjoy the perfumes and learn from books and You Tube reviewers about the notes, the creators of the fragrances and the art of perfumery. I like the vintage scents the best. Arpege might become my Signature scent. It was one of my favorite in my younger years and I might get to know and like it better in my Autumn years. Take Care.
I've smelled both and they are similar. The original is fairly close to No 5 and is major heavy on the aldehydes. The newer one is heavier on the jasmine and smells a bit lusher. The drydown on the original is quite animalic too and the newer one isn't. They are both excellent.
I fell in love with Arpege in the 1980s - I am not a fan of the reformulation from the 90s... I think the Vintage Arpege is actually what was still being sold in the 1980s.
Madame Lanvin’s daughter was a pianist, not a violinist. This video was only made as a sales pitch and offers superficial and erroneous information about this great fragrance. Shame.

Has Arpège become your new signature or do you regret your purchase?
I’m a 23 year old male. I just bought the day de parfum, I think it’ll be my signature along with aromatics elixir by Clinique.
I adore Arpège edp! It’s so beautiful.

Love the original and My Sin too have not tested the reformulation but the originals are fantastic.
Thanks Lanier.. I haven't ready he perfume daddy's review but will try to get my hands on a copy.
That was really lovely. Have you read The Perfumed Dandy's review of Arpege? A really very interesting take on this beauty.
Thank you so much for this review!!

I bought this it's awful. There's a fecal note. Not for me. Jeanne was an amazing woman but I don't like this scent.
