  • Updated 2023 tour of my 68" Snap-on Epiq series toolbox. Box has power top, power drawer, spee drawer, blacked out badges, and blacked out casters. Box is filled with a combination of Snap-on, Mac, Capri, Gearwrench, Astro, Craftsman and a few others. If you see anything I am missing that would be great for small engines feel free to leave a comment below.
For organization I use Kaizen foam, Snap-on organizers, and Westling USA billet socket trays.

For those who think snap on toolboxes are overpriced…I bought a masters series 72” with stainless top, hutch & locker along with a 32” 3 drawer cart in 2006 for a package deal price of $11,500. I decided to trade it in last month on a 68” epiq and matching roll cart..my dealer gave me $10,000 trade in value…only lost $1,500 in 17 years..pretty damn good. Great video! Love the organization.

You can't exactly go by hard numbers. People seem to forget this.
You paid 11,500 in 2006 which was almost 20 years ago. Your not taking inflation into account. Which makes your 11,500 in 2006 equivalent to roughly 17,500 today. You did not lose 1,500 my friend. You lost 7,500. Which is over 40%.
If my grandpa bought a car in 1950 for 4000 and sells it in 2023 for the same 4k, he didn't "get his money back". That 4k back in 1950 would've taken a long time to get. Modern times is 2-3 paychecks. This is obviously an extreme example.
      Think of it this way...
If you put that 11,500 into some sort of investment fund back in 2006, you would be unhappy with a return of 13,500 by 2023 because it doesn't even match inflation.
      See my point?
To further my point for the last time... Your snap on dealer would not have taken your 2006 box on trade plus 1500 cash for the IDENTICAL box in 2023. THAT brother would be losing 1500

@@zacharyantoneshyn9295 that was the worst description. Inflation has nothing do with this situation, however, depreciation does. That box, like your grandpas car, looses value every year, or depreciates in value.
Inflation anyways averages 2% a year..which comes to $3910 over 17 years..so your math is way incorrect.

Did you finance your master series back in 2006? And did you finance the difference on the new Epic? Or did you buy them outright to have to get the deal? Just curious.

    • @tommyk1073
      @tommyk1073 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@ecleveland1 I paid the masters off in 6 months..I had a zero percent, 6 month convenience check for my charge card. Had I not paid it off in 6 months, I’d get hit with a 19.99% rate. When I traded it in and the remaining balance of $6000, I paid my snap on dealer $2000 a month for 3 months. He didn’t charge me any interest. If you’re good to your snap on dealer and don’t avoid paying him, he will be more than willing to work with you.

Man, I got the entire Tekton socket collection just cuz it's a no skip set up and the sizes are roll stamped as well as printed. Use them daily professionally and have zero complaints. Had to use the Tekton warranty for a socket wrench, it was a 48hr turnaround from the moment of filling out the warranty form online.

When you said “great purchase” I felt that. I have a 68” epic and have made my living doing small engine repair for the last few years. Was laid off this week. I don’t have quite the weight in my box you do, but I’m definitely getting me some foam and doing a little overhaul before rolling her into a new shop. I feel like it’s such a beautiful sight when I open my drawers, but some of you guys really set me back to reality.. My one take away is to be more organized, or neat in appearance is really what I mean.

I'm over in the UK, and for professional mechanics tools we get the choice of Snap On or Mac (including Facom) tool trucks, plus a few independents selling a mixture of brands. Over the last couple of years I have been trying out some mid-priced U.S. brands from Amazon, and I have to say I'm impressed. I've bought tools from Astro, Capri, Gearwrench, Vim, OEM, and Tekton, and they have all been of much better quality than our home-grown versions. For me the stand out is Tekton.....I replaced all my old, worn out S.A.E. sockets and my 12 point (non flank drive) metrics. The fit, finish and overall quality is outstanding for the money!

I’ve had techs talk shit about my tekton sockets, so I ask them to break one and/or strip a bolt while using one. 5 techs later, no complaints.

Hard to beat the quality of Snap-on toolboxes. The Epiq box is hard to grasp how large it is in a video/picture. They are truly massive, and yours is just PACKED.

For whomever it was that was so concerned about what brand tools you have, just tell them to buy you some and mail them on over. Until then stfu and mind your business, unbelievable.
