  • Toughed out the weather for another shot at finding bedrock on the new claim. Gold take could always be better, but we're having a good time anyways!!

The higher you can get your jet log out of the water, the easier it is to drag upstream. I love how clean and clear the water is. Best of luck and heavy pans.

I searched for two years before I found a good spot on our claim. Everywhere there was shallow bedrock I had marginal gold. I finally found a spot where I’m getting 1/4 to a 1/2 ounce a day. Only problem is it’s 6-7 feet deep below the over burden. I know it feels daunting but my advice is to defiantly get to bedrock. When I start a hole I spend at least one full tank with my 6” Keene just widening out a spot to work. I usually never even see bedrock until close to the end of the day. Don’t give up guys you’ll find it soon.

Looks like we share a same common problem.... Needing a bigger dredge nozzle. Discovered that the 6 inch is great but moving too many cobbles by hand gets old fast.

Hey guys! I started hobby mining in 2005. If it was me, since your testing a new claim, I'd try my hardest to get to bedrock, that is where the most gold will be. Then you'll at least know what kind of gold is on your claim. You were correct...You'll have to widen out your hole at the top and sides...easy way is to pull all the biggest rocks off the sides of your hole and knock down the loose gravel and dredge it up to get it out of the way and then keep going down. Even if you can hit a false bedrock or clay layer, I'd try to break that up also and keep going until you hit bedrock. I enjoy watching you dredge in Alaska. I work so much i haven't even been mining this year at all, so i appreciate your guys videos, it gives me something enjoyable to watch!
    Good luck dudes!!🍺⚒️⛏️

Thanks for the video and thanks for the gift. I don’t think I have any advice on dredging but just keep plugging along. 👍👍🫎
