“Do Not Grieve the Holy Spirit”

- How can God, who is never taken by surprise, be grieved by our actions? The Bible tells us that when we walk in an ungodly way, it is an offense against God’s love that brings sorrow to the Holy Spirit. Alistair Begg reminds us of God’s deep desire to dwell within us, and that it is our own action that deprives us of the joy, assurance, and peace that should accompany our salvation.

Informative, helpful and rich exposition on these verses indeed. Pastor Alistair Begg definitely has the fruit of the Holy Spirit and is blessed with knowledge, wisdom, and compassion unlike any other mainstream would be pastors you see today.
This went deep. No wonder Pastor Begg decided to stop. He had to give time for us to chew on all this information. There are not many Pastors who can bring God's word home to us in this way. Thank you!

Whatever he doesn't see here and now, I guarantee that he will know about it in the hereafter. I'm sure that he will be pleasantly pleased with all of us who hold him dear.
That's another thing that I love about Dr. Alistair Begg, he studies the same portion of Scripture each time that he teaches through it. Since he has been pastoring the Parkside church since 1983 that means that he has studied through the Bible many times over. That's the mark of a good pastor. We have been blessed by his teaching on Truth for Life broadcast ever since they began airing his messages on the various radio stations across the country and now we have full sermons available on TH-cam! Thank God for the Internet and TH-cam. The same places that are full of unwholesome junk also carry God's word to the world, and for that I am eternally grateful.
I listened for the first time during lockdown by God's grace to Alistair Begg. His love for God and people and the Word has been such a great blessing to me and opened my eyes to deep truths. Also such a comfort when my husband of 58yrs died. I thank The Lord so much and have encouraged others to listen as well. Irene, South Africa

God is so faithful to bring His wisdom and saving mercy to me through your teaching. Scripture is such a powerful force and with your explanation I am convinced of both my ability to cause pain to my Heavenly Father and convicted to do so less! Maybe the comic books are right, “…with great power comes great responsibility.”

Please pray for me. Prayers all we need. My husband passed away years ago. I’m a single mother. I have two beautiful sons, both of my sons are autistic. I’m just overwhelmed at times. Heavenly Father I know you don’t give us no more than we can handle. But Lord have mercy on me. Since covid I can’t seem to get back on my feet. I was fired from my job for declining the vaccine. I declined due to my lupus and I also have a heart condition. I’m waitressing but not making nearly enough. Every month is a struggle not to end up on the streets with my children. I’m struggling putting groceries in my refrigerator. Struggling to pay rent. But, thankfully God has provided this far. I know and have faith he will continue. Faith over fear. We should praise God even in hard times. I love you Jesus! Thank you Heavenly Father.

Please explain why you posted this passage. Thank you in advance. Was it because he said that it grieves the Holy Spirit if you violate a child? Just asking considering the new awareness being raised in the world due to the release of the movie, The Sound of Freedom. As much as I have heard about sex slavery for many years now, I never knew the volume of cases of kidnapping small children to violate them in such horrible ways. God is so merciful for having not begun to unleash His full wrath of judgement on this despicable world. There's no way that things can continue to wax worse and worse before the rapture and the subsequent beginning of the Tribulation. I don't know how much longer it could possibly be!
