Exactly! I became his international fan after watching Wonderland of Love. Dunno why some like to punch down someone who doesn't take his good look for granted, but really put a lot of effort in every role he played and humble. His personal story motivates me towards life. I also love the roles that he played, which always bring positive energy and message. Keep it up!

From the US I love watching Xu Kai in anything. He is an actor that can take a role and make you feel what the character would be feeling just from his face and posture. Too few actors now a days have the ability to truly bring a character to life. There are a lot of good actors out there but he truly keeps you watching to the end and wishing for more. I believe that his character in falling into your smile benefits from his slightly rounder face. The character is a gamer who spends most of his time in a chair in front of a computer. It makes the character more believable and gives him a boyish look. Keep going SoSo. You are already the best of the best.

They need to back off with this talented actors & actresses. They put so much pressure on the people in this industry. An article has popped up recently about how many Asian entertainment stars have committed suicide. Some of fans are being totally ridiculous & harsh regarding the actors & actresses. Their personal life, what little there is, is none of anyone's business. China, Japan, Korea, & other Asian countries need to have better support systems for their entertainment community of stars. All these so called fans would not last a nanosecond under the grueling pressure & work this acting industry has to deal with. Love & support them, don't be apart of destroying them.

I am a fan from the US & over 60 years old. I also fell for his acting and looks during Falling Into Your Smile! I think I must have watched it at least 20 times and on different TH-cam channels (the different translations were very interesting). I agree his more normal, fuller face is very attractive. I loved watching how he could convey different subtle emotions just w how he furrowed his eyebrows and forehead! He doesn’t need over the top acting to get his mood across. His impish grins and glints in his eyes express so much also. Sad that he has endured so much physically just to do what he is good at to bring me joy.

Not knowing what language he is speaking therefore having to rely on subtitles and body language, Xu Kai is as far as I am concerned is a fabulous actor. He uses his face to make me laugh, smile, cry and go awwww.

Seriously if you Netizens don't like him send him to England because we love him. Saying he can't act is ridiculous. His role in Yanxi Palace was superb. Especially the scenes when he had to witness YingLuo kneel in the snow. It was heart wrenching as he knew she was doing it for him when she could have taken another way entirely. Refusing the emperors demand that she admit her love for Fucha Fuheng was false she took the kneeling around the palace instead. Everyone knew that he liked Yingluo but the emperor could not handle the fact that the one woman he wanted above anyone else loved someone else. The scenes between all three of them were the best in the series. So he can act but as we now know the pressure on Chinese actors and actresses is horrendous. I love him so no complaints from me

Wow, I'm a bit shocked how tough the life is. Constant criticism, crazy hours, unhealthy diet, hair loss, unable to sleep. I actually not surprised if celebs get crazy drunk on their days off....
The fuller look isn’t that bad honestly it’s kinda cute and it really isn’t that much of a gain. Compared to some Hollywood actors who have gained weight, this is nothing. The mainland Fans are really too harsh. Besides he is a good actor hands down, he is able to convey the complexity of emotions on his face and eyes very well whether, jealousy, hurt, in love, hate, being happy, being cheeky, stuck in a situation and don’t know what to do etc. He is my fav male Cdrama actor cos I haven’t seen anyone else with such similar intensity.

there is a Grande Canyon wide cavern between my #1 favourite Chinese actor - Xu kai - and the actor in second place. I have a lot of his box sets. I'd have them all, bar one problem: not all of them have English subtitles. I'm happy to have discovered kai. And I look forward to watching every single drama he makes throughout his career. So screw the negative types.

I am Canadian you always get someone who is against you but what outweighs the most is the ones who stay with you those are the ones that count so he is not for everyone and those who stay with him are the right ones. I am a 64 year old new watcher of Chinese drama and I think soso is great .Of course I have to see it in English,the only thing I don't like about it is the amount of lipstick the men use or maybe I find it too bright for men; The fact that they hardly eat , that they have to be single and that they get so much injuries at times but So is great!

Actors in historical dramas have the same problems regarding hair loss because of the glue that is being used on their hairline.
He works extremely hard and gets better all the time. The only trouble is that some of his scripts are not so good and he doesn't really have the right chemistry with some leading ladies.
I'm never sure how much say celebrities have over what projects they do, but it might help him, if he slow down a bit and wait for the good scripts.
