its memory size of RAM (Which is present outside of CPU). the registers are present in side of CPU which technically hold the address of instructions and data present in that RAM. Note that The 4096 x 16 is RAM used for 16 bit processors which we are studying. Present we usually using 64 bit Processor so that RAM size is too small than 4gb, 8gb ram we are using, also to mention there is also cache in between registers and RAM in morden processors. Correct me if i am wrong that was the conclusion after watching couple of youtube videos.

program counter hold the address and we know address is of 16 bits...so program counter is 16bits not 12
no shes actually right, its in the morris mano textbook page 128 table 5-1, same example says 12bits with the proper explanation
