    New York was so different from Chicago. Other than Calabrese Sr., family and close friends were always discouraged from getting involved in Outfit activities. "Go to school," "Use your brains," "Being a tough guy will get you three in the back of your head." This was in the 60's & 70's but they were always interested in expanding into legitimate businesses. Good show.

    Anyone can say what they want About Gene , bottom line is there’s no filter , He don’t lie or embellish anything! Unless you know him (not know of him) watch what you say .Him, Alite, Hootie, all guys you definitely want on your side . These are the guys that put the work in to make the bigger guys who they are . The bosses don’t fight , or pull triggers , Gene is the one that gets the call to fix problems . He shoulda been straightened out years ago but the politics put a wedge in it.Gene stood up for people that didn’t have his best interest in mind . Gene is scared of nothin & nobody . He’s the last of a dying breed. He deserves nothing but respect.The kids been thru hell & back and still walks around with a smile on his face . Hats off to to Gene Borrello ,I wish him nothing but success and a long healthy life , one of the Realest friends I have . All the haters don’t know shit but bits & pieces about him. A lot of people wouldn’t be where they are or have what they have if it wasn’t for this man right here .My respect goes a long way with Gene. Love him or hate him He calls it as he sees it. He’s done things for me that my other friends of 40 years wouldn’t help me do. He’s a man’s man . Old school , young man . Great guy. Lookin forward to see his projects come to fruition.

      Finally! someone took the time to write an honest assessment of who Gene really is, most will never have any idea, or will think “they know him” based on stuff they hear about/see on the internet… most will never understand what Gene, John, hootie, Anthony, etc, ever went through and will never understand the circumstances of their lives. It’s easy for the average Joe to sit on a couch and judge someone they know nothing about, pertaining to a way of life they only see in the movies… every thing you said about Gene is 💯 anyone that knows, KNOWS. Thank you for watching, we appreciate the support! 💎🤝👑

    Gene is a trip. Didn’t like ‘em at first. I’d get along well with him well after seeing who he really is. I’ve known a couple Gene’s whether that is good or bad.
    I don’t think anyone knew how to take him at first or if he was full of it or not because he was very brash and has a tendency to humble brag some pretty evil shlt. But he’s one of those dudes that grows on you. Seems like a really friendly, loyal, funny dude. He’s been consistent and shown himself to be who he really is and not somebody putting on a show. (Probably the fault of some other mob guys on u-tuub) Yes, when he was in the street he was their “Yesman” but that was his job and Gene was a product of his environment. Probably wasn’t headed to a happy successful life on his own accord.
    How can you not give a guy a nod that’s sticking up for the vulnerable and people getting bullied because he knows how dangerous criminals and IowIifes can be? That’s an honorable quality and sometimes street justice really is the best. He also definitely lives in a different reality than everyone else and cares too much what people think of him on social media because he’s young and hung up like many of his generation that thinks life is all about online ‘clout.’ He has zero self control or how to be a responsible adult…lol.
    But, in the end he’s consistently being himself and not pretending. He’s got a great sense of humor about unordinary things, seems like a loyal guy that’ll have a friends back even at his own expense. Definitely the epitome of what’s wrong with the mafia today. Gene talks way too much and ya get the impression that his mouth makes him his own worst enemy.
    In the end, however, Gene seems like a very likable guy, and in his own strange odd way, seems to have an honest and kind soul.

    • @moneyloyaltylegacy
      @moneyloyaltylegacy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      You get it, the people that come on the comments and talk smack and say it’s all bs, have never actually been around people that were really in that life… you’re the first person that’s commented and can see that these guys are being authentic with the stuff they’re saying, it’s not for show, it’s actually the life they lived, they’re not coming on here making a bunch of bs up about being affiliated with the mob, it’s real stuff that they’re talking about.. it’s amazing to us the people that come on and comment negative stuff and immediately think it’s all bs, but if they’ve ever sat down and talked to someone that was really in that life, they’d know it’s authentic… either way, thanks for watching! 💎🤝👑

      Wow. What was the real reason they took him out? He wasn't a wise guy so never knew why they took him out

    • @moneyloyaltylegacy
      @moneyloyaltylegacy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Indeed

    • @nc732
      @nc732 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @kevind9952 it was in the movie. He was not a made member of the family as he was Jewish. But he was a long time member/associate bookmaker. He was involved in the Lufthansa heist with the crew. Rather than turning over money he was owed for his role in the heist, they took him (and others) out. Not only did they not have to share proceeds with him, but they were taking guys out because the pressure was heavy as this was the biggest heist of its kind at the time. The potential and incentive for guys like Marty to cooperate would have been great and likely, so they tool zero chances. Authorities likely would have followed them aggressively, not letting up and applying a large amount of resources to bust the ppl involved on previous crimes unrelated to the heist in order to force cooperation on the heist to get them off. For the wise guys, one could say they made the right strategic decision. In addition to taking out Marty to retain the money and reduce cooperation risk, they also took his bookmaking operation when he passed. But you're right, he wasn't a made guy, but he was still a wise guy on record with the family. Jimmy Conway, the mastermind of the heist was also a member of the family who was not made. His was just as capable with just as much power and influence as a made member. In some instances, he was more powerful and higher regarded than regular/soldier members. What I can tell you is that the killing of Marty didn't come at no cost to his family. His children took it hard and it had an adverse impact on them. He son most likely wouldn't have ended up in the same position and his granddaughter most likely wouldn't have been raised with us. They weren't wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. If he had anything left over for them, it wasn't much or it has long since been gone. Hope this helps in answering your question.

So I’m from Howard Beach/ OZ Park… when Gene speaks about Peter Gotti- John SR’s youngest son… ya he did all that, he gave people beatings , embarrassed them, put them in dog kennels…. NOT because he was SO tough with his hands… it was because he was an asshole BULLY!!!! He did that because he knew they wouldn’t fight back, they had to endure that!!!
